I’ve never stayed in accommodations in which I had to ask for Kleenex. Or a washcloth. The best part of the stay was the bed, which was really comfy. Literally everything else was terrible. They didn’t clean our room, they required a credit card for “incidentals,” (there are absolutely no incidentals available). This place advertises an ocean view, but fails to mention that the view also includes the roof and parking lots of three other hotels in front of it. It was very inexpensive, but still. I do not recommend.
Brought my family to Morro Bay for an overnight trip. I didn’t know what to expect and had been about to just stay in San Luis Obispo as equally convenient since so many places were booked, at least for families bringing a dog. I tried reserving at another spot on the water, but it was booked. Then I saw Harbor House Inn and decided it was better to stay near the beach. That was an understatement...Better near the water. And Harbor House Inn turned out to be a perfect choice. They were super accommodating when we arrived early and asked to check in early. They check to see if they could make that happen and were able. The woman at the counter recommended the appropriate room for our needs and was spot on. She was very friendly, as we also found the other staff we met. Our room was comfortable and the typical size for a two queen bed room. The bathroom was set up right, and clean. Cable TV and WiFi were good. Plenty of outlets for charging the electronics of a family of 4. The A/C and heating was fine. We had a little patio out back that was great for our family to meet outside with my sister who met us, and good for the dog. We were two blocks from the waterfront. The waterfront is excellent with great scenery and food and drinks. People wore masks and spread out for the most part. Otters, seals, sea lions...the big rock, sail boats, horizon...sea air. A great atmosphere and environment. And the dog beaches! There were lots of places to take the dog. Tons of dogs and people and businesses seemed totally accustomed to them. We drove to Morro Bay Dog Beach for some great walks. I think Harbor House Inn, atmosphere, facilities, people, location...all set us up to have a great stay in Morro Bay. The hotel was fine with our leaving our cars in the lot for a couple hours after check in while we grabbed lunch on the waterfront. The room got a little too bright in the early morning. The water pressure wasn’t quite enough. Aside from that, I can’t think of any improvements to make our stay better. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for the kind of stay we wanted and had. …
Rooms are pretty big and appears to have been refreshed somewhat, with hardwood floors and a large TV. AC unit and other furniture seems to be well used. Asked for a room away from the main street but was denied, though there was less than 50% occupancy on a week night. Seems like the owner just didn't want to bother. Ended up with a heavy footed neighbor above, which is my worst nightmare. It reverberated even more with the flooring, it seems. Almost like a heavy bass every time they walk on top. Beds a little too soft. Pillows are small and not comfortable. Shower pressure low. If you get a good deal it could be a good value for a short stay.
Great beds, very comfortable and had an adjoining patio for dogs to do their business. Our tv didn’t work for the entire trip. No breakfasts. Dog charge is 50$ nightly per dog. The parking is pretty tight, but very close to the beach.
My husband and I checked into the suite. Lovely room for a mini vacation...HOWEVER.. they DO NOT clean the room or even give you coffee every day. The second day we were there, I went to the front desk and asked for coffee. they were very kind and gave me some. I asked about towels and was told to put my dirty towels outside and they handed me 2 clean ones. I told them I didn't want to leave towels outside for someone to steal. They promised our room would be clean the following morning at 9:30. That never happened so we decided to cut out stay short by one day. I went to the office and told them we were checking out. Not expecting a refund at all and that was fine but the manager said "I am so sorry, I will refund you" he even walked out to our car as we were leaving and again said he was so very sorry and we will be refunded. It was a nice gesture as I wasn't expecting that. Guess what? I call to inquire and the same man now says "I never said that, no refund for you"…
