A beautiful boutique resort which encompasses the spirit of Kashi or Varanasi as it is now known. Very conveniently located mid-way between the airport and the Cantonment area, the resort is your oasis of peace and calm in an otherwise chaotic and over-crowded city. The large 18 Junior Suites with amazing art work look onto the Ganga Kund with it's temple. You also have an inviting swimming pool to catch the tan; a beautiful restaurant with stained glass and chandeliers serving the delicious Indian and Continental cuisine. So stay with us to experience the sights and sounds of Varanasi, along with the peace and quiet which your soul needs.

Review of Tree Of Life -A 5 star resort in Beneras , India considered the most holiest Hindu city and also known as "Varanasi" This resort is located off Mayawati Road, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh thats about 15 km from Varanasi Railway Station.
Presently it has 18 well appointed and very comfortable air-conditioned junior suites. Its set amidst green garden and expansive green natural lawn with well paved drive ways. Must say we had express check-in and that aperitive Paan Sharbat added to our experience by Mr. Yuvraj.
Each junior suites comes with free WiFi and attached bathroom and confirms to all specification and parameters to meet five star rating .
The maintenance is par excellence and the entire staff in the resort were found very courteous.
The unique feature of staying in this resort is that it recharges one's inner self while nourishing their mind .
This compliments the spiritual energy of the main diety Kashi Viswanath in the ancient Shiva temple located on the banks of holy river Ganga that flows from the western Himalayas.
Any avid traveller in the world ,should in my view must make it a point to include Varanasi ,in their travel plans if they are interested to kindle and initiate their spiritual persuit of inner peace and joy ,as a spiritual seeker through inward travel.
Tree of Life provides the travellers to Baneras a very comfortable staying option .Their Resort Manager Pushpita Savant, herself a spiritually persona ,has evolved this beautiful resort. It is beautifully set out amidst vast expanse of lush green meadows and trees that attracts birds including Peacock which is a pointer to abundant positive vibrations and energy of this resort.
I am sure every visitor , after a stay at this resort will go back a rejuvenated person doing nothing but relaxing in comfort of their suites while enjoying the culinary delights of their Executive Chef Gajadhar Singh Dhakrey ,who churns out delectable food of North Indian , italian and chinese cuisines , with able support of F&B Executive Aditya in serving us.
In conclusion , I must say that my four day stay at Tree Of Life have been so joyful and very full filling to mind , body and soul , thanks to very comfortable accommodation and great food .
Trust me friends ,your visit to Benaras and staying at Tree Of Life Resort in my view will be an experience extraordinary you will carry back and nurture in your mind for a very very long long time .

We had booked this boutique hotel in mid-November 2024 (soon after Indian Hotels acquired a majority stake in Tree of Life properties). This is a cosy 18 suite property and we stayed there from Feb 17-22, 2024. The property and the rooms are very aesthetically designed and one has to visit this exclusive property to experience it . Our package included B/F and dinner. The stay was very relaxing as this place is away from the hustle and bustle of Varanasi. It is situated only 8.5 kms from Varanasi Airport. The surroundings are very quiet , green and close to nature with a variety of birds like Jungle Babbler and Orioles which visit your balcony in the morning. The food too was delicious (Kudos to Chef Ashish Dabral) and the staff at the front desk (Yuvraj-Vivek-Shivam) were very courteous and friendly. The staff in the restaurant AnnTripti were excellent and we got personalised attention from Tushar and Ramakant. We hope to be back sometime in the future and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

A quiet place which enables the visitor to escape the bustle of the city. Huge rooms, good service. A village walk round the corner gives an insight to indian rural life.
The restaurant serves a modest breakfast buffet but you can order eggs and pancakes. They also bring to the table Indian specialities that you don't order. I.e., you don't go away hungry.

Location: Remote and far to be called as resort. Accomodation: The best room in Varanasi and I am quoting it after staying at Radisson, Amaya, Rivatas, Surya Palace etc etc. Food: Delicious but severely over prized. Due to remote location it felt as arm twisting to pay such a premium for food served by and served at below average standard. Dining hall was a major turn off. Breakfast spread was very limited and far to be called as standard. Carry your own breakfast, its not worth even offered for free. Its best to dine in room which is cozy and huge. Best is when dining in room, one doesnt have to interact with poorly baptised staff. Last but not the least, you can not put Shiva on cushion covers. I wonder who was that eminent interior designer to put Shiva on cushion covers. Kashi is for shiva and such mischief shows the lack of interest being taken by property managers in selecting the decor and overlooking the detailing. All in all comfortable stay but hospitality was a big turn off.

I found the property itself to be quite good. However, there are some areas where improvements could enhance the experience, especially for guests with pets.
Firstly, I recommend allocating ground floor rooms to guests with pets. This would make it more convenient for pet owners to take their pets in and out, particularly in extreme weather conditions. Speaking of which, the room took a considerable amount of time to cool down due to the excessive heat. It would be a thoughtful gesture to turn on the AC before guests arrive to ensure a comfortable environment from the start.
Additionally, the service was quite slow during my stay. The only staff member who provided excellent service and understood my needs was Pranav at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the front office staff were not very professional in handling situations. They often referred me to other people and suggested what I should have done, which was not helpful.
While I like the place, these issues make me hesitant about future stays. For guests considering this hotel, it might be wise to manage expectations and be prepared for some inconveniences.

Presently staying here for two nights..The resort is sprawling and green, Its been beautifully designed blending in the local archetecture. Coming to the positives first all the staff members starting with Sanjiv at the front desk to the Housekeeping guys and the Chef and waiters like Dasmi and others are very nice. They go out of the way to cater to your needs. HOWEVER IF you visit this holy city for the temple tour and to see surise and sun sets from the ghats then this is not the ideal choice ..WAYOUT of the city and the approach road is pretty obscure and a semi metalled one the last 800m It stands in the middle of fields . and a small desolate village no shops nearby Coming to the rooms they are huge and well maintained but the bathrooms need proper upkeep and better quality towels.Another point they only keep their Own RO water but would prefer complimentary bottled water. As Indians I found it a little odd that all their bathrooms only have An Overhead shower A Hand held shower and a tap would be appreciated like other 5 star properties The food is freshly cooked and of good quality it really feels like home cooked meals Would like to come back and see a few improvements The USP of this resort is the smiling and helpful staff..keep it up.Special thanks to..you all

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your current stay at the resort. It's wonderful to hear about the resort's sprawling and green design, blending beautifully with local architecture. I'm glad to know that the staff, from Sanjiv at the front desk to the housekeeping, chef, waiters like Dasmi, and others, have been very nice and accommodating. However, it seems there are a few areas where improvements could be made. The location, being far from the city and with an obscure approach road, might not suit those aiming for temple tours or specific views of sunrise and sunset from the ghats. Also, the surrounding area with a desolate village and no nearby shops might be inconvenient for some guests. Regarding the rooms, it's great that they're spacious and well-maintained, but there are some suggestions for improvement in the bathrooms, such as better upkeep, higher-quality towels, and the availability of complementary bottled water. Additionally, having a hand-held shower and tap alongside the overhead shower, as seen in other 5-star properties, could enhance guests' experiences. On a positive note, the freshly cooked food of good quality is a highlight and feels like home-cooked meals. The most standout aspect remains the friendly and helpful staff, which is a significant strength of the resort. Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback. Your insights provide an opportunity for the resort to consider improvements for an even better guest experience in the future. Warm regards, Priyanka Debnath Sarkar Marketing Manager

Stayed here for three nights as we visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and other areas. Had an excellent stay here with good food and hospitality. Pradeep and Komal were fabulous at their service. A kid friendly place with good facilities for kids. My child was offered Maggie his fav 🤞 The bed and linen were comfortable and gave a good night sleep as we woke up fresh and rejuvenated in the morning. The place has positive vibes and has a calm atmosphere. An ecofriendly place that has birds and other nature in it. All Staff are very good and always ready to help.
Would like to stay here again in near future ❤️

I booked this hotel under the assumption that it was a Taj property, only to later realize that Taj was merely marketing it. I had expected the signature Taj hospitality, but the management operated with a guesthouse mentality—prioritizing rules over delivering a true guest experience.
While the team was polite and warm, they often seemed clueless, lacking spontaneity in offering assistance. There was a sense of confusion, and they appeared lost at times.
The property itself is set in the wilderness, surrounded by farms, which provides a serene environment. However, the activities at the center were woefully inadequate. If they wish to position this as a ‘resort,’ they must provide amenities to match. There were no sports facilities, the spa was closed, and there were no entertainment options. The food choices were also very limited and basic.
Overall, this property lacks a clear identity—it is neither a true resort nor a city-center business hotel. Its confused positioning, coupled with subpar management, does a disservice to the Taj brand. Listing this property under Taj Hotels gives misleading expectations and ultimately tarnishes the reputation associated with the name.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. I sincerely apologize for the experience you had during your recent stay with us, and I truly regret that we did not meet your expectations. I understand your disappointment regarding the property’s association with IHCL and can assure you that your concerns are being taken seriously. I would also like to share that while IHCL has made a significant investment in Tree of Life Resorts, acquiring a majority stake in the company, we are not becoming part of the Taj Hotels portfolio. Taj is a luxury brand within IHCL’s portfolio, positioned at the top tier, and operates distinctly from other IHCL brands such as SeleQtions, Gateway, Vivanta, or Ginger. Similarly, Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels will continue to maintain its unique identity and boutique offerings as separate brand of IHCL, which is that Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels are a collection of boutique experiences and each of our properties are set in calm and serene handpicked locations, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of city life – yet not too far away. As for the property’s amenities, I completely understand your frustration with the limited activities and food options available. We are aware that the resort aspect of our offering is a key area for improvement, and we are actively working on enhancing the available facilities to ensure they are in line with guest expectations. I also regret the inconvenience caused by the closed spa and lack of entertainment options, and I will make sure that we take the necessary steps to ensure such issues are addressed. Finally, I take your point regarding the property’s identity and the expectations set by our branding. We are currently re-evaluating how we position this property and will certainly consider your feedback as part of that process. Again, I apologize for any frustration caused, and I truly hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. If there’s anything further I can assist with, please do not hesitate to reach out. Team Tree of Life

If you're looking for a soothing stay away from the city in the lap of nature, in the spiritual heartland of the country, then Tree of Life should be your 'Go-To' choice.
The rooms are amazingly huge, with walking wardrobe facility, & a large balcony where we spent most of our quiet reflective evenings. The decor of the room is just amazing (it resembles 100% of what images are available)
Food is extra sumptuous. We tried Indian cuisine: I never had such amazing quality of food. Breakfast spread could be better, though!
The staff is so courteous and friendly, that we never wanted to leave the place. Aditya from their staff did ensure that we had a very comfortable stay and went extra miles to manage our preferences.
The decor is so carefully designed that it provides that spiritual element to the stay. Very small detailing done flawlessly.
All in all, a 5 star experience for this boutique property.

The hotel has a very holistic vibe . Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome . Nice size room , beautiful grounds and views from balcony . Felt very relaxed. Restaurant staff very accommodating and friendly . Wouldn’t recommend leaving dinner tray outside room as wildlife appear and start demolishing it ! We think there was a Jackal and birds outside our door one night when we were told to leave the tray outside. Sometimes there are power cuts but I guess that’s due to the location . Overall worth staying there .
