Detailed Reviews
My friend and I stayed here 2 nights while venturing through Napa. We were able to check-in late after a long night on the road, and the front desk receptionist was great and walked us through the updated procedures due to Covid. None of the amenities were available... no pool no fire pit, no gym, no breakfast, no bar. You can relax on the pool deck, and sit outside near the fire pit, but they won't turn the fire on because they cannot regulate how many people gather outside. There is a coffee station in the lobby which is available 24/7. You can also relax on the sofas in the lobby, but just maintain social distancing. The grab and go convenience store is open, and they sell snacks, frozen meals, local wine, and ice cream.
There is free parking on site, and it's a Tesla charging station.
From the European stone structure throughout the property and plush green grass, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and I felt like I was on a vineyard. SpringHill is a more affordable hotel option in Napa. We booked this hotel a few weeks in advance for the holiday weekend, and it's a fraction of what boutique and chain hotels were charging.
While the hotel is gorgeous and the staff was great, our room was not up to par. The light in our bathroom was out, so I told the front desk, and maintenance was in our room less than 10 minutes later replacing it. When we took our showers, my friend went first, and she said the water took a long time to get warm. The water never got hot, just warm. I thought she was exaggerating, but when I took my shower, I had to let it run for over 3 minutes, which is a really long time to waste water. I figured that since she went right before me, the water would be warm for me, but no that wasn't the case. Before she got in, there was also hair in the shower.
Because two people were staying in the room for two nights, there should have been enough toilet paper in the bathroom. We were only left with a half used roll in the bathroom, and not any extra rolls in the storage area.
By the second night, we had leftover food and water that we were going to take with us on the road. I open the mini fridge to put everything in there, and there is someone's left over food and open soda cans in our fridge!
By that point I was irritated. I felt like our room hadn't really been cleaned before we checked in. If housekeeping had come, they would have known about the light being out and would have seen the hair in the shower, and would have known that we needed toilet paper. They should have also checked and cleaned the mini fridge. I had a really icky feeling about sleeping there the last night after realizing that and hoped that at least the sheets we were sleeping on were fresh and cleaned.

This Springhill Suites had nice comfortable bed and living room area which is great for a family with a small toddler. They also had an excellent pool area and breakfast was top notch.
The location of the hotel itself is a bit out of the way and traffic in Napa Valley is crowded so it may take a while to get to wineries you're looking for. When we stayed there, their internet also went down for the entire day. Otherwise, our stay was pleasant.

We were at this hotel last Saturday night. It is difficult to write a great review because of covid restrictions. Because of this I will say they take it seriously. It is one of the cleanest rooms I have stayed in. The bathroom was spotless, the floor, the carpets, the bed, the sofa, the microwave and the mini fridge, not one dirty smear anywhere. Masks are required everywhere.
At this time, the pool area is locked off, the bar is closed, breakfast is take away and limited, no nice firepits.
The area is full of construction, the hotel is on a busy highway. It may be a great place to stay if you work in the area, maybe at one of the construction sites, as the room has a separate work/desk area. Bring your own coffee maker, and plates if you want to make coffee in your room or heat up some takeaway food.
This hotel was super clean, that's my takeaway. When we are though with this covid scourge I'm sure it will have a better feel with the pool, fire pits, bar and hot breakfast back.

Dear Jet803329, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Trip Advisor - We truly appreciate and welcome all comments, as it gives other travelers an honest opinion about our property. We strive on cleanliness and I thank you for noting that. We are not centrally located in Napa, nor do we advertise that. We always encourage travelers to ensure they do their research before traveling, as you mentioned a car is needed (and is actually needed for most hotels in the Napa Valley), as we are out in the country. Starting mid-April 2021, we are excited to be able to place plastic ware, cups, etc. (disposable and wrapped in plastic) & coffee makers back in our guest rooms; however they will still be available upon request 24/7 at the Front Desk. We thank you again and hope to welcome you back in the near future so you can utilize our property with all of our amenities and offerings open! Kindly, Brandon, GM

I arrived at 11pm to Marriott Springhill Suites in Napa on December 24th and had to leave because my room was not clean. I had driven 8 hours from LA and was looking forward to spending time with family.
I am especially disappointed because I’ve stayed at many Marriotts before and usually trust them to meet sanitation standards. During COVID-19 I would expect sanitation to be taken more seriously, however it seems that proper cleaning procedures are not being properly regulated at this location.
I was initially assigned to Room 226. Upon walking in, I noticed that the couch was dirty and had white liquid stains (possibly bodily fluid).
I told Patrick about the situation and he reassigned next to Room 107, which had a dirty bathroom with hair on toilet and urine on the seat. I then was reassigned to Room 100, which also had a dirty bathroom with dirty bathtub, hair on floors and around toilet.
Lastly, I was assigned to Room 123 with dirty floors with hair and dirt.
Because the situation was so ridiculously shocking, I made sure to take plenty of video and photos as evidence of this nightmare and found myself having to find a new place to stay after 8 hours of traveling in the middle of the night (I spent an hour just looking to see if there would be one clean room).
I almost just wanted to pretend the rooms were clean so I could finally lay my head to sleep. But with COVID-19, I cannot afford to stay in any rooms that are not properly sanitized—especially the bathroom.
The front desk agent was nice; however, he said he was unable to process any refunds and that I would have to call back to speak to a manager.
I still haven’t gotten any sleep after having to find a new place to stay. I’ve contacted management and hopefully I get a refund for the room I never got to enjoy.
I will update this review based on management’s response.

Greetings Jensine, First and foremost, thank you for reaching out! I was informed you spoke to our Assistant General Manager, Michelle, on Sunday who is in charge in my absence - noted you did this posting in the middle of the night before any Management was made aware of the situation or able to properly address. My sincere apologies for the challenges you experienced. Please note this is not our standard and we will be utilizing your comments/notes/videos as a training tool within our Housekeeping Department. In regards to your arrival time, I completely understand your frustration and disappointment, especially during the current state lockdown. From your comments, it appears you were traveling for pleasure - which unfortunately is not currently permitted in our State and County. Hotels in California can only welcome essential travelers (nurses, firefighters, doctors, etc. to name a few), which was mandated a couple weeks back by our Governor. After speaking with Patrick, it was never a question "if" you would get your non-refundable booking back; however with the amount of fraud, travelers visiting that should not be visiting (leisure vs. essential), we have removed the refunding rights for line-level employees. He simply needed to have one of the assigned person(s) do it when they were on property - so I apologize that it was conveyed differently and you were questioning if you would get the advanced purchase, non-refundable money back. To my knowledge, you have been given your refund the next morning (usually takes 3-5 business days for this to appear on your card). I emailed you 2+ days ago with the above message in response to your (4) email messages to me - as I wanted to connect before responding to this post; however have yet to hear back from you. I have extended a kind offer to return and truly hope you will take advantage of it. Again, my apologies - we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kindly Brandon, GM

This was the stingiest Springhill Suites that we’ve ever stayed in, and we’ve been loyal Marriott customers for 20 years.
The Good:
Very clean
Beautiful landscaping
Great pool area.
The Bad:
Some polite desk and breakfast people, some not so polite. The person at check in flew through the
explanations and didn’t seem to care that we were confused. There was no one waiting, so it didn’t need to be so rushed.
No housekeeping unless you stayed at least 3 days and you had to specifically request it. She wasn’t
clear about that at check in. We stayed for 5 days.
Skimping on all amenities , to the point that I felt
that I would have been better off in a Days Inn, at half the price.
To wit:
One single paper cup in the entire room. No other cups or glasses anywhere.
One bar of soap in the room. No soap in the kitchen
or shower.
No shampoo or conditioner, except as a cheapo pump in the shower.
Two plastic plates and 1 set of plastic cutlery.
No pad or pen.
No dish soap or sponge in the kitchen area.
No freezer compartment in the fridge.
The tissue box had 5 tissues left. They were covered in a blue stain, which could have been deliberate
but we decided to ask for another box.
Each time we found something else was missing, we
had to go down and ask for it. This required 5 trips to the front desk before we finally got most of what we needed. Sometimes they had it at the desk,
sometimes they had to send up housekeeping.
Breakfast was minimal, although I know that’s mostly
a COVID thing. Although on the 4th day they started offering bagels and a toaster that wasn’t available on the first three days. Did the Covid rules change
between days 3 and 4?
We thought that some of these might be COVID
restrictions, but when we checked into our Courtyard in San Francisco (for $100 less per night), we had every single amenity that was missing from
the Napa hotel. So it’s not a Covid thing - it’s just being cheap and hoping that no one would notice.
Well, we noticed.

Dear Crusoemom, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on Trip Advisor - We truly appreciate and welcome all comments, good and bad, as it gives us an opportunity to address with our Team. I apologize you did not have a better experience and hope I can address your concerns mentioned: - Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash Pumps are a Marriott International Brand Standard, therefore you will find these same pumps installed in all Select Service (Limited-Service) Marriott Hotels. - Soap: Brand standard is (1) bar in the sink area. Providing a bar of soap in the wet bar area is not something our brand offers; however we are happy to send additional up per request! - Dish/Sponge is not something offered with our brand (I believe the Residence Inn & Courtyard Brand within Marriott offers this, as they offer full/partial kitchens. Our hotel only offers a wet bar). - Housekeeping services is mentioned upon arrival, as well posted all around the property (elevator landings, front desk, bar area, etc.) of needing to request if staying 4+ nights. - Plastic plates/cutlery is offered in all guest rooms based on double occupancy. We are happy to extend additional upon request (prior to arrival or during your visit). - Tissue box does show "blue" when you are down to the last 5-10 tissues with the brand we use (brand: Preference). We can assure you that they are sanitary and not something we (or someone else) added. - Rates are bases on demand. Napa is extremely busy right now, which is reflected in our rates. Due to the global pandemic and things now just reopening in our state (as of June 15th, 2021), we must still abide by local county rules and regulations, which trump any state regulations. During your visit our county was under different regulations than the county in which San Francisco is in (many changes did happen during the last week, which likely was why you saw some changes during your visit). We are happy to announce that as of this week we are able to fully reopen to normal operations! Should you return, please reach out, as I would be happy to personally inspect your room and add any additional amenities you may request prior to checking in. Thank you again for your review! Brandon, GM

It was a family weekend getaway for three nights at the Napa Valley. We stayed at the Marriott ' s Spring Hill Suites at Napa which was conveniently located for our tour of Napa wineries and nearby attractions .Our stay was very comfortable and the breakfast on the house was a value add which we appreciated. The rooms were well designed , maintained and we liked the extra fittings in the bathroom for the safety of senior citizens. The staff members were very courteous and always available to answer any query. Overall ,a very enjoyable stay with good value for money.

The outdoor areas are spacious with nice cushioned seating, pretty landscape and hardscape and a private resort style pool setting to relax in. The interior is clean and attractive. Our king room with pool view had an opening window, nice modern furniture and a mini-bar kitchen setup. The breakfast was average for this brand- have had more options at others. The staff member at check-in was very casual in demeanor but got the job done. There were a things which kept this property from being top notch and which turned what could have been a high quality experience into a middling one. It would be a nice amenity to provide a couple of wine glasses in each room. A standard amenity at most properties of this caliber is lobby coffee and tea service or option to buy some. None is offered here. The real insult is breakfast featuring plastic cutlery in plastic wrappers, plastic bowls and plastic plates and a PLASTIC shower curtain! Where is the eco concern? The hot water took forever to warm up and never to become hot. Wasted gallons before stepping in the shower. The big old style phone, and oversized lamps leave no room to put much of anything on the small night table. If these drawbacks were resolved I would rate this a 5 star hotel. But it isn't yet.

Dear Halcyon T L, Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor - We truly appreciate the comments and are happy you enjoyed your visit, with a few exceptions.I hope I can address some of the concerns/comments provided. Please note that we are a SpringHill Suites by Marriott, which is a select/limited-service property within the Marriott portfolio. We follow and abide by all the guidelines set forth by our brand (all SpringHill Suites by Marriott should be offering the same exact amenities, etc.): - Lobby Coffee/Tea: This complimentary amenity is set out from 6AM-10AM daily. You also have complimentary coffee accessible in your room 24/7. - Breakfast cutlery: The brand-standard is actually is plastic. I myself am doing the best I can in eliminating plastic where possible, which is why we take it a step up and offer real plates & silverware. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our dishwasher went out early on Friday 2/21/20; therefore we were forced to use disposable dishes over a 3-day span. - Complimentary breakfast offerings are exactly to brand standards and rotate through the week with additions on the weekend (waffles, bacon, etc. on Saturday & Sundays). - Wine glasses are extended upon request from the Front Desk or Bar Team (brand offerings are 2 standard glasses in the room, which we provide) - Plastic shower curtain: These are used over a long period of time and is not something tossed after short use. - Hot water concerns have been noted! I hope you advised the Front Desk of this so it could be further looked into (with this review I do not have a full name or room number to further investigate; however should you want to provide, I welcome this information so our Team can look into - my email is below). Thank you again! I hope to hear from you so I can look further into the water concern mentioned. Kindly,Brandon Jacobsen, General Manager Brandon.Jacobsen@Marriott.com

During Covid crisis this property takes cleaning and Covid protocol very seriously and we felt very safe for 5 days and nights. Fresh towels, new shampoo daily. No daily housekeeping but easy to keep the room tidy. We enjoyed the outdoor grounds and patio table for dining one night. Pool area is closed.

By far, one of the most expensive springhill suites I've ever seen. But hey, welcome to Napa!
It's tough to find anything affordable in Napa these days, but this hotel was about as good a Marriott options as the area allowed. Located a bit outside of Napa (15-20 min drive), but close enough that you're still next to all the action. Hotel is a bit off the main road, enough that it's quiet with not much development around it. Not a high hotel, and sprawls a bit with a nice pool area and firepit in the middle.
Parking is convenient and free, though you may have a small walk to the front desk if you're parked far. Decent size lobby, check-in was a bit slow but maybe had relatively new staff member. Rooms can be a hike as well (since the property sprawls), but the rooms are decently appointed (typical budget hotel but comfortable).
Decent size room, wi-fi worked well. Bathroom is a bit small, but workable. Morning breakfast was decent, typical Marriott budget fare but really enjoyed the walnuts and chocolate (designed for oatmeal, but makes a good snack). Overall, will be back for the affordability.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, room was sort of tight but we had everything we needed a microwave, small refrigerator, a desk and small sitting area. The grounds had big beautiful flowers and a fire pit sitting area that we enjoyed a couple evenings. The coffee and breakfast available was not to our tasting and we went out for breakfast every morning. But it would be convenient for those who do enjoy it.

It’s a full size. Depends on age and weight of your adults.
Depends where are you heading to during the week.
If you have to go up to north, you have to consider some traffic jam in the highway southbound leaving Napa; from Napa city center could take around 20-30 minutes ro reach the hotel.
I also had a rental car , so unsure of the Uber costs. However I did see several small tour busses visiting the wineries - might be a cheaper option than ubering.
