My friend and I stayed at Chardonnay Lodge lately. (my husband and I stayed here in April this year) We love this place, especially its garden. It is designed by the owner’s wife, an local artist. There are statues, old telephone booth, tables and chairs together with the flowers and plants all over the property. It is quite a place for a motel. It is 5 minutes’ drive (1.5 miles) to downtown Napa, Starbucks is just two blocks away. There is an authentic Indian restaurant just walking distance from the lodge. FYI there is no refrigerator in our room, but we are fine without it. Wendy
It's hard to find anyplace reasonable at most times of the year in Napa and so in that sense, this place is above average. It's decorated like a mini wine theme park but really it's just a motel. However, while my daughter and I were here there were a couple of disappointing things. The big one was the complete lack of working wifi. Both my daughter and I had need of solid wifi for work and school, as it was supposed to be included but instead was frustratingly not usable. Later, a fellow showed up with reels and reels of blue ethernet cable to string everywhere, which is completely unnecessary. All you need is an industrial router and relay, which would run a few hundred dollars. I feel that the hotel and expedia / hotelsdotcom owe me $50 for the roaming charges for two rooms for two days. The other thing is that there were construction workers staying there as well and next to my daughter's room. If nothing else, it ruins the winery ambiance but also raises questions about who their target market is. Was I also paying too much?, as I doubt the workers were paying $135 a night. But as mentioned, it's otherwise OK and these days there just isn't much choice.…
I was tempted by the fact that we needed a last minute room and the price of this place was decent. We basically just wasted our money. We walked into the room, couldn’t stop laughing, sat on the rock hard bed while we booked another resort and walked out. It was that bad.
This is a hidden gem for me, as a frequenter to Napa, I stayed in downtown Napa a few times. But Chandonney Lodge is just one mile away from Downtown Napa and it is much more quiet and affordable, especially for weekend rate. Personally i love all the flowers and plants outside of the motel rooms’ doors and windows, and in the parking area. Although the room is small but it is clean and well equipped with everything you need. You can tell this is a business owned by a family and they put their hearts in it. This is the perfect place for you to take a nap and go to the town having a wild night and then come back for a quiet night sleep.
Charming, beautiful thoughtful garden to walk or sit in for enjoyment, comfy beds, nice shower, pretty design on walls, very clean, not far from good restaurants, great stores. Very friendly and welcoming owner/employees. Met Kay who is so delightful and designed much of the rooms and garden from what I heard and read. Highly recommend!
Kay was very gracious and provided us with beautifully furnished room which includes all the necessary amenities. She herself designed the rooms and they are tastefully decorated. We are very pleased and definitely recommend it!
Very cute lite lodge, apart from the heating system being pretty horrible with way to much air making you sleep in half a storm it's a very cute place. It's bit outside the center was about $9 with Uber to get in to the center if you dont want to use your car. For the price we payed in napa I doubt you could find anything better
Arrived early after a long, frustrating day due to the wildfires forcing us to change our plans for the day. Thankfully, we were allowed to book in early. Room was quiet and clean. Staff were helpful. Pretty setting. Unfortunately, not close to the Downtown district, but a short taxi ride solved this issue.
The price was low and we stayed 2 nights in the lowest priced room. The bed was okay, the heater in the window was noisy, the TV sas difficult to work and the only sink was steps away from the bathroom. If we decide to return we will pay the extra for a better quality room or stay somewhere else. There is no vineyard and the little garden was closed.
Lady on the reception desk was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfy and tastefully decorated. Outside the rooms, there were lovely flowers etc. planted. Perfect location for visiting the wine farms.
