This is my second time staying at the Blackbird Inn and I will continue to book it every time I travel back to Napa!! My first stay was back in 2011 and my most recent was in 2021 - 10 years later and it was just as wonderful as I remember. Both the Blackbird and the Finch are filled with rich dark wood details that were hand carved by the owner. You can really tell how much love and excellent craftmanship went into the rooms and common areas. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, the rooms are cozy and impeccably clean, and you're within walking distance from all that downtown Napa has to offer. What is not to love? We made it down to the farmers market and loved checking out the local shops and eateries. The breakfast at the Blackbird Inn was delicious and different each morning, which we very much appreciated having the variety. And we so enjoyed the happy hour with wine and small bites before using the great recommendations from the staff for our evenings out. Parking is convenient and available onsite and the sweetest little gardens surround the guest house. My wife was obsessed with the stained glass doors. All in all - we continue to love our time at the Blackbird Inn and we will absolutely book again!…
We had a beautiful stay at the Blackbird Inn. The room (#4) was comfortable and inviting Breakfast was delicious each morning. There’s always fresh iced tea and ice water ready along with to go cups to keep us well hydrated. Each afternoon they set out a catch of individually wrapped fresh baked cookies. Those are great to grab and throw in your bag to nibble on in between wineries. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Every morning the wonderful manager would ask about our plans for the day and give us recommendations on things to order and places to try. In the afternoon/early evening they were welcoming us back and asking about our day. Highly recommended. It’s in downtown Napa and a great location to walk into downtown or rent a car to drive to the vineyards.
We had such an incredible time while staying at The Blackbird Inn and Finch Guest House. The staff is absolutely top notch and treat you like family during your stay. The concierge was quick to meet your needs and had the best recommendations for restaurants, wineries, and other local attractions. There were ample sanitizing stations throughout and masks if you forgot and wanted one. The food is DELICIOUS! Really!! Kudos to the chef because each breakfast and happy hour snack was unique throughout our 4 night stay. And the cookies.... sooooo good! My little one kept wanting more! We loved having our breakfast and happy hour treats in the gazebo.. so charming! The rooms were spotless when we arrived and the staff took great care to refresh our room during the stay. The bathroom we had was stunning and we loved getting cozy next to the fireplace in the fluffy robes they provide. And I can't leave a review without raving about the impeccable craftsmanship of the Blackbird Inn and Finch Guest House - it's absolutely immaculate! You're living in a piece of art during your stay. I so appreciated all of the little details that went into making the space feel like a luxurious home away from home. I can't wait to come back again!…
We stayed at the Blackbird Inn on Friday, November 18th and Saturday, November 19th, 2022, for my wife's birthday getaway trip. Given that we live in FL, it is a long trip for a quick weekend. When we arrived on Friday afternoon, it was a little after 5PM. From our experiences at staying at other B&Bs, the hosts usually take you on a quick tour of the property, review the amenities, and explain how breakfast works along with the evening cocktail hour, etc. None of this happened. Additionally, we found the staff (at least the ones we encountered in the evening and for morning breakfast) to be less than friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Finch House (Room #12). Updated bathroom but the fireplace seemed to have a mind of its own in choosing to work and not work. I appreciate the ambiance of a B&B but some might find the room itself to be old, musty, and a little cold. For those that choose to stay in this room, be aware that there are weird little doors in the small 2nd bedroom, bathroom, and closet. It was a little creepy as one of these doors were unlocked. For those ghost hunter enthusiasts, I can say that nothing out of the ordinary occurred on either night. As for breakfast, nothing really to write home about. We were only able to take advantage on Saturday morning but the one we had at Model Bakery in Oxbow Public Market on Friday was awesome, great breakfast sandwiches! We had to leave by 7AM on Sunday morning for the airport and asked if they could make a little to-go continental breakfast. This is a typical thing for B&Bs. They told us via text that they were out of muffins and the best they could offer was yogurt. Doesn't make sense for a 1+ ride to SFO. Location is decent and in walking distance to some good restaurants. I recommend Tarla's Med. On Friday, we stayed a night at the Westin which is directly across from the wine train and in walking distance to some funky bars. If you are comparing price, comfort, service level, etc. I would recommend staying at the Westin vs. the Blackbird Inn. The room at the Blackbird Inn cost $500/night. At least the Westin has complimentary water in the lobby at no additional cost. …
Absolutely beautiful place!! Stained glass windows are beautiful. Like being transported to early 1900’s immaculate old Savannah home. Staff was so kind. Food was Wonderful! Very accommodating. Highly recommend. Walking distance to downtown Napa and the new Oxbow arena.
We actually stayed here in September 2019. Hotel expensive, rooms were dark and old fashioned, no outside space, not staffed at night which led to an incident where another guest continually slammed their door all night keeping us awake and quite worrying when you don’t know what’s going on. Complaint not really dealt with the following morning. Breakfast ok
This is a small, comfortable property. The bedrooms are nicely furnished, the beds comfortable as is the lounge area. The property is about a 20 minute walk from the riverfront where there are some nice restaurants and shops. The staff are friendly and helpful. The property is right on a junction and I was worried when I walked into the bathroom and found earplugs. However, there was very little noise from the road. The only disappointment was the breakfast which tasted like cardboard (the waffles) and the coffee was very bitter. I'd be quite happy to stay at this property again but I'd go out to eat breakfast.
Our stay at the Blackbird met all expectations. A beautiful example of Arts and Crafts/Frank Lloyd Wright inspired architecture and interior design. My favorite thing was the front door! Location was very walkable to downtown, across the river to the Oxbow Market, and to the waterfront area. Breakfast and “Happy Hour” were nice but the cookies were a real treat! Lastly, the people running the inn (as well as those staying there) were so genuinely accommodating and thoughtful. We had the most contact with Emily would wax always pleasant and willing to help us whenever she could. We highly recommend the Blackbird Inn!!
Spent a few days in Napa and stayed in one of their top floor rooms. Nice room and bathroom, very quiet, plenty of space. Wonderful staff and breakfast each day. Happy hour (more wine!) with appetizers as well. Nice to chat with others that are staying there during breakfast or happy hour. Walkable to restaurants and the local theater. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay in Room 2. We would definitely recommend the inn. Great staff, wonderful room with gas fireplace, private deck with seating, perfect location, easy parking and a wonderful breakfast, fun wine and cheese and yummy baked goods.
