Went out to Napa for an off season trip and it was perfect. No crowds, beautiful fall foliage and a superb experience at Carneros Resort. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the restaurants were great and the spa was outstanding. I have to single out our concierge, Nina, for special praise. I usually plan every detail of a trip but when she emailed to offer her assistance, I took her up on t. Best decision of the trip. She planned it all from airport transportation to dinners to wine tastings and every experience was first class. Carneros is luck to have her.
We stayed at this hotel five or six times now. We traveled this year to Dubai, Maui, Scottsdale, Seattle, Santa Barbara and a couple others. Staying in hotels like the Rosewood, the Fairmont, the Ritz Carlton, etc. There’s no place quite like Carneros resort and spa. The people set the tone as you drive up and arrive to the resort. The management takes personal interest in the minute details of your stay whether that be relaxing by one of their amazing pools or arranging for excellent wine tours at different vineyards based on your palate. Last year I had 20 of my friends and their spouses fly down and celebrated my 40th at this hotel. Still to this day my favorite vacation I’ve ever had. Remarkably, it was during a intense fire and the ash was so thick it was almost unhealthy to be outside. But in the midst of challenge the team rose to the occasion and found a way to make my event extremely special both inside and outside when applicable. I’m not sure I can thank them enough. The hotel itself is quite serene. Our favorite places to relax would be to sit up at the adult pool and just look out over the vineyards after a wonderful breakfast at the hilltop restaurant. The green eggs and ham at the other breakfast location is a must every time we go. Whether you’re staying in a small cottage or a couple bedroom home you feel warm and welcome. Our favorite room is suite number four and five right by the pool. The outdoor shower has a little window that allows you to look out over the vineyards through your corrugated steel private courtyard. My wife and I enjoy getting up and walking the grounds in the morning as the morning fog lifts gently over the fields too. I don’t often write reviews but I felt it was important to do so on this one. There is something so special about this hotel and the people that work there I just quite can’t put my finger on it but I will say it’s an absolute must if you’re considering it at all. It truly is my favorite place on earth.…
Wendy was great she toke care of us all time The place is very nice but she makes even better The resort is amazing people are always ready to help you!!! And they are thinking all time how to surprise you!! We sure want to come back with our kids!!
We just stayed at Carneros for the second time in 6 years. We originally recommended the hotel to the guests that were coming thinking it would be as perfect as it previously was. While the rooms are well appointed and cleaned the outside need a deep clean. We found used soap in our outdoor shower. The check-in process took forever as the front desk clerk couldn't figure out the system and the bell staff was no help, we had to carry our own bags and they didn't show us anything in the room. Finally, the staff was non-existent. There was no one to serve drinks at the pool and when we found someone it seemed to be inconvenient. We came to Carneros from a five-star hotel that was previously comparable to Carneros, but that hotel blew Carneros out of the water in terms of service and offerings. I hope that they do an internal service review. Service might be the reason they were offering 50% off if we stayed one more night since they need to fill the rooms.…
Cozy cottages with beautifully landscaped private outdoor space. The hilltop pool has stunning views of the Napa countryside. Great restaurants and market. Staff is friendly, well trained and accommodating which made our stay very enjoyable!
We spent 3 weeks travelling through California, staying in 5 star hotels such as Four Seasons, Carmel Valley Ranch and Casa del mar in Santa Monica. We had fond memories of Napa Valley from our previous stay at Meadowood. So we decided to visit Napa and this time tried out the Carneros resort and spa. We deeply regret the decision… I booked through the Amex FHR program. Despite the low occupancy level, we did not receive an upgrade. Service is far below the expected level for a luxury resort. Most of the staff seem new and lack the experience to cater to guests expecting total luxury. Some examples: get ready to carry your own bags, housekeeping service is inconsistent, the swimmingpool furniture needs more cleaning, Don’t even think of ordering a lunch after 3pm, the kitchen at the hilltop pool is closed. room still not cleaned at 4pm. Bottom line: employees don’t care about guests wellbeing, they’re just doing their job. The facilities are new and modern, but already some issues are appearing that should handled quickly: Our outside bathtub malfunctioned. The hilltop pool has a cracked and dirty liner, should be replaced really soon.…
Carneros resort is beautifully constructed. It really provides the essence of being in Napa. The cottages are quaint and cosy. However if you are going with children do consider getting a cottage with two bedrooms as the sofa bed and bed makes the room very cramped. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t have any availability for us as they had a wedding. As soon as we reached I approached the concierge to understand kid friendly activities in Napa. Although she printed a saved list she wasn’t very knowledgeable or pro active in booking. We soon discovered a lot more to do in Napa with children which we were not informed about from the concierge. I recommend the hotel find a family friendly concierge who is more pro active. The boutique in the hotel is very nice with unique clothes and the market is a quick grab and go. Breakfast was a disappointment as the boon fly was 1.5 hour wait and the hilltop buffet had no veg options. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you are a couple not with children otherwise stay in yountville as there is a lot more to do.…
Wow, the Carneros Resort and Spa is truly incredible. I stayed here for a business conference and then wished I had brought my wife along as this resort may be the quintessential Napa experience. Incredible grounds. Unique, upscale cottages. Friendly staff. Great California vibe. Loved the food particularly the Market with a casual lunch selection and smoothies. I look forward to staying here again!
The place is stunning! Outdoor bath and the cottage was wonderful! Wendy in the gift shop made my day and took great care of me! What a sweet heart!! I’ll be back for sure! !!!! Thank you for making my stay so relaxing and enjoyable!
We have stayed at this property 6 times over the last 10 years - it was our favorite resort in Napa - but sadly this will be the last. The property itself is fabulous with cute individual cottages that are well appointed and great outdoor space. Pool, spa, fitness amenities are all great. So what is the problem? One word Service and attitude. Almost nothing is open during the week. No pool service for drinks or lunch except if you stay on the weekend. Are you kidding me for $2000 a night you can’t have 1 person manning the beautiful signature pool area during the day. No towel service, nothing. The Farm and the signature patio area bar closed Monday and Tuesday’s . While at the pool you had multiple guests complaining with each other about the lack of service for a resort that charges these prices. just stayed at the Montage in Healdsburg for 3 nights and it was spectacular including service. Management doesn’t even feign interest and says “well service is tough during Covid”??? Maybe they should study competing properties like Auberge and Montage and see how they are managing. I really hope this gets tuned around as it is unacceptable for a property charging the prices that they do.…
