Been traveling a bit lately and staying in what are considered the very best hotel chains in the USA, they don’t hold a candle to the Napa River Inn. The Napa River Inn has all the luxury and service of a 5 star hotel (even better) and all the quaintness and personal touches of a small local Inn. Check Inn was easy, professional and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, roomy and well appointed. Once again, all the amenities of a great 5 star property. Beds are very comfortable and the towels are fabulous!

My room included breakfast from a bakery next door called Sweetie Pies (a must if you stay here or not) with either an option of having it delivered (pastries) by hanging request on the door evening before or by taking that same card to Sweetie Pies and making your own selection. The latter might include one of the best breakfast sandwiches in Napa Valley. I was staying 2 nights so had to try both. The first morning I had the pastries delivered which came promptly and was delivered by a real person with a cart and asked me if I needed any additional coffee pods (in room Keurig), tea, cream or sugar. Second and last morning I went to check out Sweeties Pies and opted for that breakfast sandwich and had a little left over to add a couple of their homemade dog treats for my Corgi back home!

One other very small but very nice touch. After I returned to my room which had been serviced by the cleaning staff the person that cleaned my room had left me 4 pods of the dark roast (yes, I drink a lot of coffee) instead of the standard 2 that are usual. Just because they noticed what I had used that morning. It’s small but rare people just go another step further to make it a great experience.

Thank you Napa River Inn, I’ll be back!

First time staying here, and really enjoyed it. Was orchestrating travel for several neighbors and management accommodated us with a great rate for a Friday night (spent the rest of our time up-valley). Many great restaurants and tasting rooms nearby allowed us to park and walk wherever we needed to go, before checking out.

Pastries for breakfast were great, and the bedding was very comfortable. If staying in downtown Napa in the future I'd definitely return here, and its a far better value than one of the larger chain hotels on Hwy 29 which require a car for anything.

Stayed here in early March & loved every detail! From the wine at check in to the pillow chocolates at turndown service, Napa River does every little thing to make your stay perfect. Location was a huge plus, & we really loved the option of having a pastry basket delivered to our room every morning, or a voucher to visit the bakery next door. What really made this inn special was it’s employees. The genuine care and passion for service they all have is priceless. Did not want to leave - highly recommend.

My boyfriend couldn't have picked a better hotel for our first trip to Downtown Napa than the Napa River Inn! Located at the historic Napa Mill right along the water front, we were within walking distance to a ton of restaurants, tasting rooms, the Wine Train, and also had a great view of the river from our room.

Getting to the hotel and finding parking couldn't be any easier. Once we crossed the Third Street Bridge, we took the first left and the Napa River Inn was straight ahead. You can pull right into their parking lot out front, and yes, parking (for guests) is free! Checking in also couldn't be any easier - when we walked into the lobby, we were helped right away and within a few minutes, we had our keys and went to find our room.

The hotel is made up of three different buildings, and our room happened to be in The Plaza, which was right around the corner from the main lobby. We booked a standard room, which was a great size for the two of us and came with plenty of amenities to help make us feel right at home: bath robes, slippers, a mini fridge with two complimentary water bottles and coffee creamer, organic coffee pods for the Keurig, and even umbrellas! The umbrellas definitely came in handy, since it rained a couple times during our stay.

One of the many perks of staying at the Napa River Inn is that they deliver complimentary pastries from Sweetie Pies Bakery straight to your room! If pastries aren't your thing, they also have fresh fruit available for breakfast as well. The bakery is right next to the lobby, so if you're wanting something other than pastries and fruit for breakfast, like quiche or breakfast sandwiches, it's just a short walk from your room. Besides the complimentary pastries, Napa River Inn does not offer room service dining - however, there are a ton of restaurants nearby to check out.

Honestly, the only downside to our stay was that the walls are pretty thin. We were lucky in that we didn't hear our neighbors through the walls, but we did hear doors slamming in the hallway, and it seems to be a consistent factor that's brought up in reviews. However, that wouldn't deter us from going back - we loved the hotel.

The offer of $10 for breakfast in the bakery next door was slightly insulting when the room cost $700. Paper cups and stoggy bakery was not how we wanted to start the day. We went elsewhere.
The hotel/Inn has some charm but the walk to the rooms meant leaving the lobby and walking down a street to find the entrance to the rooms.
The cost was not worth it.

Dear JilliD_12, Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to let us know about your most recent stay with us. I would like to apologize, it looks like we were not able to provide you with a memorable experience. We currently offer two different options for our breakfast. You can either have freshly baked pastries delivered to your room or you can also go over to Sweetie pies and use that same breakfast voucher as a $10 credit per person staying in the room. Our hotel is very unique in the sense that we have three different buildings that have there own distinct décor and feel. We hope you choose to give us a second chance, thank you and have a wonderful day. Warmly, Andrew Bermejo Director of Rooms.

My husband and I stayed at the Napa River Inn for our honeymoon in late November/Early December 2022. The room itself was absolutely gorgeous. The wooden furniture and brick accent walls give it a vintage but also luxury feel.
This room included many great amenities such as very high quality toiletries, a coffee and tea station with coffee maker and electric kettle, and water in the mini fridge (all complimentary), extra blankets, and umbrellas to use if you need them (which we did!).
Our housekeeping staff was top notch. They refilled the water daily, added extra blankets when they saw that we were using the additional blankets, they added extra kleenex (refilled and an additional box) when they saw that we were running low. That attention to detail is absolutely unmatched with any other place I've ever stated.
Our stay also included a $10 discount to the bakery next to the Inn which has the absolute best baked goods and breakfast foods. You can eat in or have some things delivered to your room.
The Inn is located in the heart of downtown Napa so we were within walking distance to the shopping downtown, numerous restaurants and bars and the river view was breathtaking.
Additionally, the location is perfect if you're doing wine tours. We could go 10-15 minutes in any direction and hit at least 15 wineries along the way.

I have nothing negative to say about this Inn. I'm already recommending it to all of my friends and definitely plan to stay there again on our next trip to Napa.

We stayed at Napa River Inn at the end of April, weather was perfect. Check in process was super easy and fast, parking on site was very convenient. room was clean and nice, shower worked perfectly, water pressure was decent. Bed was comfortable. A/C unit can cool down the room very quickly, for us that was important.
Hotel provided $10/pp for breakfast each morning at Sweetie Pie, which is on site, nice touch and added convenience.
Almost forgot to mention, the lotion in the room smelled so good, available at the gift shop. Yes, we got some.
Overall the stay was wonderful. if I have to find something to complain about, that would be: on their website our room looked bigger than actuality.
We will certainly stay there again next time when we are in Napa.

Cute bed and breakfast located on the Napa riverfront, steps from all the spectacular restaurants Downtown. The hotel itself has a lot of history behind it, and is a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide, which promotes heritage and cultural travel sites around the world.

All their rooms have historical charm and character spread between 3 diverse buildings. We've stayed in the Historic Deluxe and Embarcadero Standard. Both rooms had comfortable beds. You can spend a little extra for the Deluxe if you want a fireplace and bathtub.

There is daily wine tasting in the evenings by the lobby. Parking is included in the lot across from the main building. The best part is the daily breakfast delivered each morning from Sweetie Pie's! Make sure to hang your breakfast selection on the door by midnight.

We've stayed here a few times, and each time, the service has been exceptional. We'll be back soon!

This is a beautiful hotel and we had a great room ( 311 ) on the third floor of the plaza building. We had a balcony overlooking the River. The walls are thin and we could hear everything in the room next to us but the people were quiet so it wasn’t an issue. The fireplace is a great addition to the room and the decor was nice. Our first morning we realized the Keurig machine was broken but they brought us a new one right away. They also include a cute breakfast of pastries and fruit with juice that they deliver to your room each morning. There were only 2 negatives to our stay. First was their policy of not cleaning or servicing our room unless we stay at least 5 nights. Not sure if this is a CA policy due to COVID so it may not be their fault. The other is an absolutely TERRIBLE mattress. It is well past worn out and has low spots where both people sleep. One side sloped off so bad that Daphnie struggled not to slide off the bed at night. We loved the room but I would NOT book here unless they confirmed that we were getting a room with a newer mattress. The bed really was that bad. Aside from the mattress this is a great hotel. Beautiful building. Great balcony overlooking the River and the breakfast delivery is a great touch!

I would rate this hotel a 4.5 overall. The rooms are a bit dated, and ours had a window that faced a patio that the staff only seemed to access, so we had to be sure to keep the blinds closed which meant we didn't have much of a view at all. The outlets by the vanity did not work but there were two mirrors and plenty of other outlets, so it wasn't a major inconvenience.

The staff is absolutely wonderful. Extremely friendly and accommodating. You also receive a booklet at check in giving you discounts to other restaurants and shops in the vicinity, which is a nice plus. I recommend going to Sweetie Pies in the morning and picking out your own pastries or breakfast sandwiches - the allowance is generous and it was a nice way to start our day!

You also can't beat the location. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to visit aside from the actual wineries themselves, and right along the river as well.

I would definitely stay here again for the location, hospitality, and amenities.
