I love thé Hampton Inn brand and this one did not disappoint. Fun to see two hot air balloons land in the field by the river (just outside my window). Very comfortable room and helpful staff. Breakfast was the usual, nothing special. Walking distance to a few good restaurants but need a car to get downtown. I’ll stay here again when I’m in Napa.

My family and I chose this location for a weekend birthday celebration. Every place to stay in Napa is pricey so compared to other places this is a great value. The location was good in that you could walk to downtown Napa (30 mins on the river walk) or short Uber. Also there are some fun places to eat and drink very nearby. Hotel is clean. Nice outdoor area with fire pits. Friendly staff. Free breakfast. Don’t bother spending the extra on a river view though.

We visited Napa and this hotel was pretty close to the downtown area (about 10 minutes via Uber).
We had a King Suite which had a small refrigerator and microwave along with a large couch and big bathroom.
I used the Guest Laundry which costs $2 each for the washer & dryer and is very helpful to have during a long road trip.
The free breakfast was wonderful and the woman who was in charge of the breakfast was extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed...She should get a raise :-)
Overall it was perfect for us and we were very happy with the hotel and the friendly staff!

It was fine for the two days we stayed there. It is a standard, clean but no frills place. However, on the second day the breakfast was downgraded due to "renovation of kitchen." We were told that there was a notice about this at the front desk that day. Most people checked in well before that and are paying for the "free hot breakfast." I also wasn't thrilled with the $15 parking fee. I understand this is now routine no matter what location and how plentiful parking space is in the vicinity. Just giving a heads up.
The small pool was heated in that it was not outdoor January temp. but the jacuzzi was taped up and "out of order."

Friday and Saturday night, some upstairs neighbors were rolling something around their floor until past 3 a.m. On the second night, I complained to the front desk after 10 and 12 midnight, but the noise continued until 3 a.m. Sunday afternoon, these maniacs upstair were still rolling crap around after 1 p.m., -- well past check-out time, which the hotel apparently doesn't bother to enforce.

The noise, plus the mediocre breakfast and dirty dining area make this hotel a no-go for me. I've stayed here 4 times in the past 2 years, because I like the location (adjacent to restaurants, a movie theater, and hiking trail), but this will be my last stay. Next time in Napa, I'll go to the Best Western just down the street. With the money I'll save, I can buy my own breakfast at one of the many close-by restaurants.

The place is fine. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Beware of the little additional charges, however. The hotel is located next to a fitness center and a gigantic movie theatre - so there is plenty of parking, yet they still charge you 15 dollars to park. Ridiculous. I was traveling with a service dog. When I made the reservation there was a box to check to show that the dog was necessary and a service animal - I was still charged an additional 75 bucks. SO, all in all, the whole endeavor cost 90 dollars more than expected.

Plus - miscellaneous state tax - 15 bucks

Plus - city room tax - 22.49

District Tourism Assessment - 3.14

Welcome to Napa.

We stayed here for three nights in early June 2021 ($716.83 total) for a King Studio with microwave/min-refrigerator/wetbar. This was a large room on the third floor with a view of the river. The one problem we had was that the air conditioner was located in the sitting area near the sofa sleeper and not on the side of the room where the bed was located. We had to modify the bed covers to account for this situation. Because of Covid, daily housekeeping services was still suspended. We got clean towels each day from the front desk. Breakfast in the lobby was mostly pre-packaged items and hot breakfast sandwiches. Parking was free and the hotel is located in an area near other businesses and only a short drive to downtown Napa.

The location of the hotel was great as it was close to good restaurants and chain stores. The room was comfortable, the view of the Napa River made it very relaxing, and the sound proofing was excellent - you don’t hear the nearby freeway as soon as you close your balcony door. Hot breakfast was available and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

HOWEVER, our major frustration is the WiFi (non-)connection. During my stay, I was only able to connect for 2 hours, and this only after repeated tries. The difficulty to connect to the WiFi appears to be a known and ongoing issue as the “resolution” we were given was to keep trying to connect by disconnecting/reconnecting our device and it will (supposedly) eventually connect. Needless to say, that was a big fail in my opinion especially since I was able to successfully connect only once and for such a short period of time at that. If it wasn’t for this frustrating issue, the rating will be tops.

Arrived on Friday around 7pm and was able to check in to the hotel and pick an available room that morning (around 10 am) on the Hilton app (I am a Hilton Honors member). The check in process was flawless, got my digital key, and verified time that we would be arriving to the hotel to ensure room would be ready. We went straight to the room and unloaded our luggage upon arrival. The person working the front desk was wonderful; inviting, professional and so helpful. She brought extra towels and also suggested places to eat at around the hotel. There is a Forge pizza, NapaSport Steakhouse, Chetuphon Thai, and Cream ice cream shop all within a 1-2 minute walk from the hotel. There is also a movie theater next door! A block over is a major shopping center and lots of fast food places. We came into town for a certification class that I needed to take at Napa Valley College on Sat and Sun (2 min drive time from hotel) and I am so glad we chose this hotel. Every time we left/arrived to/from the hotel the front desk staff wished us a good day, greeted us when we came back, said good morning and good afternoon. True professionalism. Our room was spacious and quiet as I was able to pick a 4th floor corner suite facing the Napa River. The room came with a huge desk area where I could spread out my work and use my computer well into the night. As a Hilton Honors member you also get free WiFi connection and as a HH Diamond member you get premium WiFi. Also, HH Diamond member parking spaces are right in the front of the hotel! The shower had good water pressure. Their amenities: pool/spa, fitness room, business center (computers/printers/book library), and coin op laundry. Grab and go breakfast is every day from 6-9 and the woman working in this area greeted everyone and offered substitutions if available, etc. Was impressed with this place and will be staying here again next weekend!

After being checked in by an unfriendly receptionist, we were directed to a small elevator that was in the middle of being refurbished. It had blue tape all over and different carpet tiles taped to the floor with duct tape. There was a sign in the elevator: “We are getting a new look!” Well, it was new all right, but it wasn’t good. The carpets were dirty. Loud construction work was going on early in the morning. In the hallways, two ear-splitting, industrial-sized machines were plugged in day and night. I am not sure what was the purpose of these machines - they looked like vacuum cleaners that were sucking up moisture. I suppose they had some kind of flooding or sewage problem. The ceiling panels in the hallway were popped open and dust and dirt were falling on the carpets. The place looked like a bomb had exploded in it.

Our room was terrible. It had a small window that did not open. The AC was loud and regurgitated the same stale, dirty area around the room. At night my husband and I would wake up with dry mouths, gasping for oxygen. The air in the hallway with dirty carpets, and dust pouring down of the gaping holes in the ceiling was a better quality. Several times I opened the door and shoved air from the hallway in.

There was a green blinking light right above my bed. Outside the window, a glaring bright red neon sign, Hampton Inn & Suites, reminded us of the terrible mistake we made coming here.

I asked the receptionist to change our room. I told her that last year we were placed on the side facing the river and asked if she could give us a room there again. I was told rather condescendingly "Those rooms cost more!" Even though last year I booked the same type of room for the same days and paid for it about the same...They just did not want to make our stay more comfortable.

We did not enjoy our stay. At check out, we were overcharged with about 50 dollars. I contested the charge and asked to get a breakdown of the price. They told me that that was a “parking fee.” A parking fee for an outdoor parking lot that nobody is monitoring? Every hotel has a parking lot. I have never been charged an additional parking fee just to park our car outside.

Never noticed a homeless encampment, but I also didn't notice the trail. All looked fine to us. The desk staff waived the parking fee when I complained about it. I didn't see any security in the lot and assume that they're just trying to get more revenue.

Not sure what tours might be available from the Hampton. No winery's within walking distance. You might look into taking the wine train which will take you to a few winerys. I don't think it is too far from the Hampton. Contact the Hampton directly and ask them. Maybe their shuttle could take you closer to the train or downtown to where you can walk.
