My friend and I stayed for one night in a tent site while passing through the area. I was very impressed by cleanliness, layout, pricing, location, covid protocol and Halloween decorations that were up on October 1! The bathrooms were sparkling clean and showers were available. My friend and I were bummed that we didn't have time to stay and use the pool. They had a kitchen for the campers use and a movie night going on. I am not use to seeing so many amenities for the price they charge. Our campsite was situated where we didn't see other campers and we felt more isolated in nature than we do at most campgrounds. Our site was right next to a short-cut into town. The walk to downtown was only about 0.5 miles, opposed to 1.5 miles shown on Google Maps. Erin gave us a list of the best places for First Friday, which we really appreciated. The next morning, Dan suggested the farmer's market and swimming holes along our drive. The owners are connected to their community and are a wealth of knowledge; they can definitely steer you in a direction to maximize your stay.

The first time my family and I visited the Inntown Campground was in 2018. We were her first to stay in their Riverside Retro Trailer. This year we were fortunate enough to return with our own trailer. The campground recently celebrated their five year anniversary and you would be able to tell that the facility is that old. It looks the same as it did when we visited three years ago. No signs of wear and tear. No holes in the drywall, painted over graffiti or damaged walkways. At nine pm, when it is quiet time, the camp host goes around and “politely” asks the noise makers to keep it down. The campground is excellent. From the community room/kitchen where you can refrigerate and cook your own meals to the out door dish washing stations complete with soap and sponges. The restrooms are clean and the showers have pressure and good hot water. They even have move night where the kids can line up every morning to select the move.
I cannot wait till we get the chance to go back!

We stayed at a tent site in late Sept 2020 for 2 nites during the week when the air quality was somewhat poor. Not too busy at this time. Clean bathrooms and showers. There were also counter areas next to the bathrooms with dish soap and sinks for cleaning dishes. Flat areas w/o rocks for tents. Tent sites pretty well spaced apart but noticed that glamping tents were closer together (which might be nice for families/groups). Pros: quiet (partly due to time of year/week and covid), close (4 mins drive) to grocery/coffee shop for those who inadvertently forget their coffee press!, under tree canopy so there is shade and scenery (but some sap does fall), staff member Jenny replied to my email right away and was friendly/helpful at check-in, cleaning staff was friendly and wore masks, and reservations were easy. Cons: very strict about parking and having a tent at an RV site, the camping app they said to download was unnecessary, and difficult to see un-lit camp-site numbers at night. Overall, very nice and would stay here again.

Thanks for your feedback. We're glad you had a nice visit to camp and could take advantage of our proximity to town (hopefully you didn't have to find anything more than the coffee press!). We are pretty strict about our parking because we want to make sure that cars don't impact our trees or other sites. We also don't allow tents at RV spots because they generally don't have a suitable area for the tent that isn't on the gravel. Based on feedback from other campers, they don't like setting up tents on gravel, which means they will likely be disappointed with their experience. However, it sounds like that might not be an issue for everyone, so we will look at options to see if we can make tents work for some of our RV sites. Thanks again for your honest feedback, we really appreciate knowing what works and what doesn't here at camp.

The location was great which is why we booked a second visit for 3 nights. We spent quite a bit of time on the phone determining if there was a site that could fit 2 vans. We were advised that #39 was level and big enough for our needs. What they didn't say was it was where the walk in tent area parks and thus we were pretty tightly packed in. We had people coming into our site to use the only water spigot serving the area. But the worst was all the junk we were parked next to. We were offered two other sites for an additional $150 on top of the $230 already paid. When asked why the junk was there, they said a shed had blown over in December and in the 5 months following they had failed to remedy. They told me to turn the chairs the other way! One of the other tent occupants was initially blocking our car from exiting. When she got out, she exclaimed "what is all this junk doing here?"
We were 3 vans altogether and I have recommended others stay here but no longer.

Hello and thank you for your candid feedback. As many will attest to, we generally keep a very clean and orderly campground, from our bathrooms and facilities, to the sites themselves…but obviously not in this case. The area you’re referring to is our off-season staging area. Yes, many of those items were covered by a carport that was destroyed in a storm. It is a small portion of camp and the views from your site for the other 320 degrees of view are of a clean, well maintained forest. I’m sorry for the view, but am surprised you chose to focus on it exclusively. As for why the staging area and carport were not fixed since that storm, it’s because the storm also caused a significant amount of other damage: - 4 destroyed Glamping tents had to be rebuilt - 18 large, dead ponderosa pines had to be felled and cleaned up - dozens of smaller trees that cracked, broke or fell over had to be cleaned up - our road had to be regraded from all of the damage caused by falling trees - 5 picnic tables had to be rebuilt - a sewer pipe had to be dug up and fixed after a tree cracked it - I ordered a replacement carport…months ago. Still not here. All of these things take time, money and (wo)manpower, and quite frankly I am really proud of how well our crew did to get camp operational by this season. We honestly had doubts we could do so after the amount of damage. Unfortunately we had not gotten to our staging area when you arrived. However, you’ll be glad to know that we have now constructed a temporary screening fence for the area based on your persistent, and clear feedback during your stay. We are not perfect and our campground is not perfect, but we think we get pretty darn close a lot of the time. Having said that, I hope you head off on your next adventure with a little more patience for the monumental effort it takes to maintain and operate a campground. Our staff work VERY hard to do so here, so if cutting them a little slack for a small area of maintenance debris is too much to ask, maybe turning your chair around to see the amazing view behind you, might be a good alternative. As they say, “don’t miss the forest for the trees”. -Dan, owner

We stayed 4 nights and thought it was the perfect campground. The sites are well maintained but not super private but during our stay it was quiet despite the openness. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Clean bathrooms/showers rate at the top of my list. Staff were friendly. There are common areas like a pool, bbq/kitchen area, and indoor lounge. I know, I know, WiFi should not be on the top of my list when camping but I ain’t going to lie it is. I think this was the first campground I have ever stayed at who claims to have WiFI that actually did. It worked great - good enough to stream a movie or two. It is close to town and Nevada City is just adorable. There is actually a trail that is about a mile that takes you into town. There are little areas to explore at the campground like the Chinese Cemetery. The RV sites have full hook ups. Lots of tent sites as well. I thought it was on the upper end of the price per night but did I mention they had great WiFi?

This was the best glamping site I have ever been to! The glamping tent was well thought out; there were towels provided, hooks to hang your backpacks on, and an awesome zippered screen, so that you could enjoy the outdoors while sitting on the bed. Also, there were two showers nearby one was indoor and the other was a private outdoor shower! It was an amazing excited to be outdoors looking at the trees while taking a shower. Also, there was a hiking trail nearby to walk into town. It was great because it was only about a mile and then there were spots to have coffee and breakfast.
Another thing, the employees were helpful and friendly which made check-in and check-out easy. Thank you Inn Town Campground!

We have visited on the Summer and appreciated the pool but also last weekend we took our teardrop trailer and camped. The main community room has everything you need in the kitchen, the lodge room has a fore going in the wood stove and TV with available viewing and comfy couches and chairs. The small store has those items you forgot and it is a short drive to charming Nevada City.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at ITC. We were in a trailer spot next to our friends…..under the trees with full hook ups. The campground was decorated for Halloween. We enjoyed taking walks and looking at the decorations. Although we didn’t need to use the shower or bathrooms we did take a look. They were immaculately clean throughout our stay. They also had a common grilling area for tent campers or glampers along with a very clean outdoor sink area complete with scrub brushes and dish soap. The quiet time was enforced in that camp staff drove around in golf carts checking in on campers. This is always appreciated. Nevada city and Grass Valley are minutes away with good shopping and restaurants.
Two thumbs up….we will definitely be back.

We live nearby, been looking for an excuse to stay there. Well, my wife needed some peace and quiet so my son and I went over there for a couple nights. we stayed in cabin # 2, a small tent with some wood structure, a heated bed and a little deck in the back. It is in a beautiful forest of giant pines. The bathroom is right nearby with big stone walled showers and a huge stainless steel double sink with dish racks. It was cold and we froze a little bit the first night, but the staff brought us extra blankets next day. My 9 year old son loved it! To him it was magical. My only complaint is noisy neighbors late on a work night. Next time we will get one of the units not near any others.

Fourth time staying at this lovely & well-curated campground. An amazing treed property hidden near downtown Nevada City; you can’t believe you’re just a mile from historic Broad Street. My favorite owl put in a brief appearance. Little mountain dogwood trees reach for the sky between the tall cedars & pines, and are soon to bear floppy white bracts. I’m a self-contained camper, but Inn Town Campground has great ‘mod cons,’ including clean bathrooms, hot showers, a camp store, an adjacent railroad museum, a commons area, even outdoor movies some nights. (quietly staged.) I’ll be back!
