I stayed here two years ago and it was great. This time I noticed the facility has definitely declined. The room wasn't as nice. The sauna didn't work. There was paper debris in the hot tub. Overall I was disappointed.

Dear Mustang Sally, I'm afraid you've reviewed the wrong property. We have no sauna and have never had one. We have no hot tub and have not had one for at least 10 years. I'm sorry you had a poor experience wherever it was you actually stayed. ---Fred Pratt, Owner

My stay was great!! Decor was super awesome - surf wallpapers, aquatic life and birds theme based soap bars and toiletries. Loved the place and the views of the ocean and back bay. Jenny, Ralph and Donna were super nice, super friendly and super helpful.

Bay Shores Peninsula is a sweet haven in SoCal! The location is the perfect place for us to stay when we visit our high school teacher daughter. Have chosen this property time and time again! It sits on the Balboa Peninsula with the bay on one side and beach across the street, within 5 minutes walk. This little boutique hotel...

Everyone at this establishment is beyond professional and friendly. It is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. We stayed for 6 nights and not one thing took place that made us regret our choice. Front desk crew (Ralph, Warren and Jennifer) was delightful and knowledgeable. Room staff and maintenance crew are friendly and good at what...

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The staff went above and beyond my expectations. I called the hotel because our travels took longer than anticipated and we were worried about parking late at night. Warren, the Front Desk Person ensured me that they would assist us with our parking needs when we arrived. There was one space left...

Stayed three nights. One block to beach and nice boardwalk. Friendly and helpful staff pushing home baked cookies on you, so expect to gain weight ;) You can rent dvds and they will pop popcorn for you. Town is small and not super interesting, but beach walking was nice and there are plenty vacation rentals to admire on the beach....

We just spent two nights at the Bay Shores Pen. Hotel, and will stay there again. The staff was very friendly and courteous, the room was clean and comfortable. For us, the location was also very good. Fresh fruit in the room daily, continental breakfast in the mornings, and fresh cookies at 3pm

Good value including continental breakfast....bedding is substandard , limited parking. Peninsula traffic can be bad, especially during the summer months.Forgot some clothes & they mailed them to me! How many hotels do u know would do that?

This is one of the best small hotels that I have ever stayed at. The rooms are comfortable and, as someone else has said, like your bedroom at home. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is abundant and excellent. Cozy and warm would be two words that best describe Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel.

My Wife and I had a great one night stay in December. Our plan was to see the Christmas boat parade since the bay is a block away and the view from the roof top lounge would be good as well. Unfortunately bad weather made us scrap that plan after a couple of minutes. The next day was perfect winter...
