This is a basic Budget hotel in a non-gentrified area of Oakland. The area isn't dangerous but it is scruffy. The hotel offers basic, clean rooms with small refrigerator, microwaves and large flat screen TVs. It is about a 5 minute walk to MacArthur Station.

The Bay Bridge Inn, in Oakland, CA, located at 683 W MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, CA 94609 is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in my life. Avoid it at all costs. Hotel stuff stole a small, inexpensive (about $30 cost) but important item. When I challenged the owner/manager of the Bay Bridge Inn, he became irate, yelling... More

My wife and I needed a temporary place to live in a hurry; we found a decent rate on Craigslist and moved in immediately. Three years later, we are still here. We love the Bay Bridge Inn! Not to be confused with the similarly-named one in San Francisco, this is the one in Oakland, a short walk from 3 major... More

Booked the room late because we were coming back to the Bay Area from Yosemite . Realised it was a rough area when the hotel clerk was behind a screen. Place was ok , clean etc. No hairdryer for my wife, and noticed the phone was from the Hyatt in Paolo Alto, tray from Holiday Inn and cups from Hampton... More

Basically, I could copy SandyM33's review here, since my experiences are pretty exactly the same. The place is really clean, and I did feel save. The staff is friendly and hands out information on San Francisco without even being asked for. The BART station MacArthur is about a 5 minutes walk away, and from there the BART takes you to... I stayed in room 119 with one bed. The room and grounds were spotless, with fixtures & furniture you would find in the finest of resorts. If you were staying for a night, you could not find a better deal. But if you are using it as a base of operation for a number of days as you tour the... More

Price was very reasonable. No coffee pot in the room and no breakfast at all but since I was only sleeping there I would recommend it if you are looking for price and nothing else. Room was recently remodeled and clean. Not having coffee in the morning was not good though!

With an easy walk to BART for a 30 min ride into San Francisco, this hotel served it's purpose however the room was a bit disappointing. A rather small double bed, very dated décor and a carpet you wished you hadn't sat on! The bathroom could do with a makeover too. The room did have a fridge and a TV... More
