Rooms are newly renovated, one of the cleanest rooms I've ever had, very useful usb port and new bathrooms!! Bed was very comfortable, it's a few minutes drive to jack London, lake Merritt, and Chinatown. No issues with staff, they were friendly and helpful. Also the area looks rough but didn't have any issues during my 3 night stay. Price... More

Not a good hotel at all - nowhere to grab a bite to eat near by except for Burger king, not very clean and the staff were a bit rude.Next time will pay extra and stay in San Francisco. No laundry facilities either which is a hassle when you are travelling for weeks

It’s hard to find reasonably priced accommodations in Oakland, but the Continental Lodge came close. The location is not great; it looks kind of industrial. Parking is tight. Our room, however, was very nice; clean, newly renovated, and with adequate space. Enough power outlets with USB ports on either side of the bed. The shower was hot and forceful. The... More

The Room was really nice and was more satisfying than expected. The Location is a bit away from the main areas and in a bit shady place but the Lakeshore Ave and Lake Meritt are within couple of miles. Sufficient amenities for the living, coffee machine, microwave, refrigerator, toiletries, etc. the owner is good and considerate.

What are you looking for? The question I ask myself when going on trips. If you are planning on being in the hotel all day and night in The Bay Area or looking for amenities to blow you away, this isn't the place for you. This hotel is great! It is a very clean hotel with great rooms a soft... More

The room was very clean with microwave and small frig. Good flat screen TV (but the Dish faded out every now and then), wifi worked fine. Location is good but the neighborhood is a little dicey. Parking is safe. Price is the best part, considerably below the competition. Management seems to take pride in the place.

I stayed here the night as the Golden State Warriors were having a Championship Parade downtown with quite a crowd. Didn't want to take BART to come down here in the morning so I had choose this hotel to stay. The neighborhood is somewhat shaky looking at night. The Lodge itself is quite reasonably priced with very comfortable beds. The... More

Booked into the Continental Lodge at the last minute as we approached San Francisco. We chose it because of ratings on Expedia as well as the fact it was (reasonably) close to the BART station, as well as it being in Oakland and therefore cheaper than SF hotels. First impression was a little worrying - the neighborhood is a little... More

We stayed at this hotel for a campus tour of UC Berkeley. This hotel felt like a family run operation. The room furnishings were worn but clean. The beds were reasonably comfortable and bathroom reasonably clean. There were few electrical outlets for our electronics. Microwave and mini-fridge were helpful, and the little snacks were thoughtful. All in all, an okay... More
