I love to go to concerts in downtown Oakland and recently had two back-to-back so I wanted to avoid two trips from Palo Alto. What a DELIGHTFUL FIND so near to the hub as the Washington Inn! Nearby parking validated by the Inn, continental breakfast, super clean and spacious room, quiet, and with a full bar in the lobby. This...

Tiny room! Beds in the corners of the bedroom, not space to walk on the side of the beds. Sink not in the bathroom. Hardly anywhere to place the suitcases. The room was not made ready for 4 people, only 2 towels. Would not recommend a stay for more than 2 people. Bad start for our stay in Oakland/San Fransisco.

My wife and I have stayed in the Washington Inn on two separate trips to the Bay Area to visit family. Oakland has never been over populated with hotels and in the past, we would stay somewhere in San Francisco and drive to the East Bay to visit family and friends. However, as Old Oakland has matured, we decided to...

Coffee report: ceramic mugs, 4-cup basket pot with cheap coffee bag. Bring a basket filter and real coffee and you’ll be happy. Glass for drinking water and minifrig. Interesting old building with small elevator but convenient and attractive stairs for those who want to walk. Moderately attractive rooms that do not have double paned windows (but they do open for...

Rooms are clean but the linens are very worn. The service is good. My room is on a noisy corner. It's an easy walk to Jack London square and only one block off Broadway. It is a short walk to BART station which is a 40 minute ride from San Francisco International Airport.

I chose this Inn out of the local hotels based on reviews. Although it is a 3 star hotel so are all the chains nearby and I had hoped this one would have some enjoyable older details to add pleasure to my stay. It was very much so. Although I had to walk through a huge local gala event in...

Our hosts held a reception in the hotel with drink and food. The place was very nice authentic classic style boutique hotel . They managed all the drink orders well and the food was exceptionally good , especially the salmon.Parking may be a chore as your so close to the center of town but its very hand for the local...

In Oakland for a convention and this boutique hotel is across the street from the Convention Center. That's it's ONLY redeeming quality. Room is smaller than NYC. Restaurant food was horrible and waitress doubled as bar tender so service was terrible. The fan in my room began making a horrible noise. Front desk tells me they don't have any maintenance...

I went with 3 other friends for a concert at the Fox Theater, and this place did us perfectly. Cool old school vibe throughout the building, nice bathroom/beds. A bit smaller rooms than normal hotel rooms, but definitely worth it, and only a 10-15 minute walk to the Fox.

It's a 1920s building so doorways, everything is narrower and smaller, but you get a sense of history. Awesome location, near great food - Cosecha, Oakland Chinatown, the waterfront. I felt safe walking around at night by myself. I take the stairs so I was not affected by any slow elevator. No it is not a five star hotel, feels...
