Best of the hotel in town, i think it is better than Hotel de Coronado. Will come back or try its sister company Seabird hotel. The thing i dun like is no self parking, the public parking next to hotel is cheap but i have to refill at 12 midnight. And other minor thing is the noise, some played music till 11pm.

Spend three nights here while in Oceanside for an Ironman race. Could not beat the location as for as the race was concerned (the final line was right across the street toward the beach, while the IM Village was right across the street on the front side). Location was not only ideal for the race, but for Oceanside in general. Right next to the Pier with lots of great dining options within close walking distance. This is a new hotel (only a few months old) and it is absolutely beautiful, plus the staff was very friendly. They even provide a reusable water bottle with filtered water stations around the property. However, there were several things that would have made it nicer. First, no bathtub in the room was a bummer. Also, there is very limited storage space. The decor was hip and trendy, but definitely could have used more drawers and there were several large blocks of wooden furniture that could have easily had more storage space incorporated into them. Plus, after spending several hundred dollars a night to stay there, I guess having to pay another $44/night for parking was a bit much. I will say that we stayed in several hotel during our two week road trip and this place had the best wi-fi connection. Once we logged in at the beginning of our stay, it stayed connected the entire time!

Review: Mission Pacific Hotel in Oceanside (part of JdV by Hyatt): Quintessential California vacation.

The brand new Mission Pacific hotel best asset is its location: a 7 floors building facing Oceanside beach and pier. The area seems to have been recently developed with several new buildings (residential and hotels) and restaurants nearby the Oceanside train station. The resort has 161 rooms spread out in two buildings connected by a structure with a few more rooms in it. It has a expansive reception area with a small reception desk and the employees are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel’s restaurant High/Low is right off the reception and has inside and outside seating and an interesting menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

On the 6th floor they have the Rooftop Bar and the pool area. Also small for a hotel of this size and the bar is open to the public (not just for hotel guests). When I checked in for a casual dinner there was a one hour wait for a table. I walked across the street to a seafood restaurant called Hello Betty and had a delicious dinner with no wait whatsoever.
The pool area is adjacent to the bar area and to reach the pool you have to walk through the bar.
During my stay I saw a lot of 30+ couples and very few families with kids.

The hotel has a nice gym on the second floor - including two Peloton bikes. And it also offers complementary yoga , meditation and boot camp classes to guests. (see picture with a list if daily activities) on top of paid experiences like paddle boarding, kayaking, surf lessons and bike rentals. So it’s for sure a great destination hotel for active families.
Guests of the Mission Pacific will also be able to use the facilities of the sister property Seabird Resort next door.

As much as the hotel has a generic bland feeling, the rooms are upscale with nice amenities. I was upgraded to a Sanctuary Suite Ocean View (Room 404) and it was a beautiful corner junior suite (on the smallish side with 449 square feet/42 square meters) with incredible views. This is a noisy and busy area close to the pier - street noise, music, trains… and you can hear most of it from the room.

Since the rooftop bar has free access to the public, the hotel has to implement key access in the elevators for guest to reach their floors, otherwise anyone coming from the streets will have free access to all rooms.

This is a nice addition to the Hyatt portfolio in the San Diego area - an affordable middle of the road beach resort with a quintessential California vacation location for families and couples alike.

After staying at the Seabird the night before, I came to Mission Pacific to do a comparison. I noticed that the hotel was completely sold-out on a weekday, but when I arrived it did not seem full at all. Perhaps they were limiting capacity. Due to being sold out, they upgraded our room to an ocean view room, but not a suite. The globalist perks are fantastic at this property--no resort fees, no parking fees, and about $40 per person for breakfast. Menus are limited and we had tons of issues with room service messing up our order. Staff was very polite, but are clearly figuring out communication with each other in this new hotel. The rooftop area is a nice way to relax. I would recommend making reservations prior to arriving, especially if you have a larger group. The pool and hot tub were very nice, and uncrowded despite the hotel being "sold out". The gym has peleton bikes, but hardly any weight equipment. You can use the gym next door at seabird if you want more weight options. Overall, with the globalist benefits, it makes this property worth staying at. However, as with the seabird, the added fees would not make it worthwhile otherwise.

As others have mentioned, this is a lovely hotel in many ways. The decor is fantastic and there are many thoughtful touches throughout. We had some minor issues that were quickly resolved, but the major one was the placement of our room.

We had a great view but it was directly above the restaurant (High/Low). It wasn’t a problem at night as they only serve until sunset; however, they open for breakfast at 7 a.m. and we were awakened every morning by the music below. So, not exactly the relaxing sleep-in we were anticipating. We didn’t have any issues with street noise or the train but even with every door & window closed up, the bass & drums came right through the floor from below.

Part of my member profile does note a preference for a higher floor, but that’s not what we received. Could be that it was due to availability, but the music might have been a non-issue on a higher floor. Regardless, if you stay here and have a suite, it would be a good idea to request a higher floor or ask to be placed away from the restaurant.

We also requested housekeeping daily but it only happened once. The front desk did send up items requested, but it was odd that we could request daily service via the app but not have it available. Not a huge deal - especially given the current situation. The other parts of our stay were great, but I do wish the pool didn’t require passage through the rooftop restaurant. It’s worth a visit but it’s a bit awkward to pass through.

We stayed just two nights to get away for a bit. This hotel was perfect for that. While we booked an ocean view, what we got was a partial. Not the end of the world, but the paid-for view would have been nice.
The room was clean and surprisingly quiet. We overlooked the street leading to the pier but could hear no street traffic or people. It's a wonderful location just across from the pier and walking distance to many restaurants. They have a water station with room-temperature and cold water. What a nice touch! While I always bring refillable water bottles, they did provide complementary reusable bottles, which again, is a nice touch. The pool is pretty with an ocean view. The roof-top bar/restaurant could use some shade, but it was comfortable and the food was good. The restaurant downstairs wasn't open as of our stay.
Overall it was a nice trip, kind and friendly staff, and clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

I am surprised that a Hotel of this size does not have the Rooftop bar open past 9pm on a Saturday night. We would have enjoyed a few cocktails and the view that night when we finished with dinner and did not expect them to be closing down when we arrived.

Also our family was all out by the pool and my wife and I had just ordered bar drinks and sent our kids to get some pizza for lunch at ZigZag Pizza adjacent to the property because we were not in the mood for the food offered at the pool. We did not think twice about that possibly being a concern although our kids were not permitted to enter the pool area with food that wasn’t purchased there. We ended up having to leave our pool site that we planned on staying at for a few hours and eating cold pizza in our room because we did not want to waste our 2 drinks that were $40 after tip. My son additionally had asked the manager if he would allow them in with the pizza as an exception because we were not aware of the policy.

I work in retail and have respect for rules although in my business we make exceptions everyday and always try to find a way to say yes within reason. It would be easier to just ignore it if we weren’t spending $600 to $700 a night.

I just wanted to pass along my .02 cents.

The hotel itself was very nice and upscale. Excellent location in Oceanside. Rooms are comfy and modern. We opted for the Ocean view and glad we did. For that price and no rooftop bar open past 9 we likely will not go back.

Check-in process was awkward and difficult. Valet was only interested in checking in vehicle at an exorbitant cost and balked at my request to park temporarily to unload baggage and check in. No assistance at valet turnaround.

Hotel was inadequately soundproofed. In addition to highly disruptive trains, room door had an air leak that caused it to rattle against the frame. Other rooms in the hallway would regularly slam their doors which would reverberate loudly into the room. Loud construction was ongoing as well. Neither the train nor construction issues were communicated at booking. Several restaurants and other amenities were incomplete during the stay and the hotel was not running at full capacity. Again this was not communicated well at booking. It is understandable that some of these issues are unavoidable, however the nightly rate is overvalued considering them.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, however they were undertrained.

Hotel experienced a faulty fire alarm at night.

Overall, hotel is high quality but marred by noise issues, undertrained staff, and incomplete operations. Would rate higher at a lower price point but as it stands it is overvalued.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. We stayed 2 nights. We arrived at 10 am & were able to check in to our room within 20 minutes. As a Hyatt rewards member, I used points to book a standard room, but was sent an email 1 week prior to our stay that we had been upgraded to an oceanfront suite! It was amazing! Beautiful views of the beach & pier from our room & balcony. The hotel was peaceful, beach was right outside, & we could walk to dozens of restaurants & shops. The room & hotel was very clean, staff were friendly, & we appreciated the free reusable water bottles & filling stations. Bathroom was beautiful & everything was new. Although valet parking is available, a city owned lot is right next to the hotel for only a few dollars per day, as long as you don’t mind renewing your parking pass at midnight. Pool looked nice, but we never used it. They offered free beach chair, umbrella, & beach towel rentals right on the beach as well. We spent additional days in San Diego, but this was by far our favorite hotel & location, and probably the best hotel that we have ever stayed in over the years.

Absolutely loved my 3 night stay. The location is hard to beat. Right in front of the pier! Beautiful hotel, modern facilities and rooms. Stayed in an ocean view room with a balcony that was perfect for sitting outside with a hot coffee in the mornings while watching the waves. Absolute serenity!

Valet staff was always on point and polite as well.
We utilized the pool, which my niece really enjoyed. The pool was never crowded when we went and was the best place to overlook the ocean and sunset. Because of this I didn't use the Rooftop Bar since I was able to order drinks at the pool. I didn't have to worry about getting a good table at the bar, since the best seats were really at the pool!

Love that the hotel offers complimentary refillable water bottles and that water refill stations were available. I also appreciate how the hotel does not have small bottles of individual bath amenities, which usually end up getting wasted.

We were also able to have breakfast at Piper, located at their sister property next door, The Seabird. Piper has top notch customer service and the food was excellent! Got their famous french toast and was blown away. So good! Great coffee too.

This was my first stay here and I would've liked it if the front desk host who checked us in explained my Globalist benefits upon check in without me asking. Not a big deal though! All staff was very friendly and always had a smile on their face.

I can't wait to come back when I visit Oceanside again. Thank you for a great first stay!
