This is one great place! Fifteen fitness classes a day, early morning hikes, nightly events and first run movies, incredible meals, and such a feeling of community with other guests and the staff. The Oaks is smack dab in the middle of such a quaint town with great shopping and eateries, bike rentals next door, and some great getaways 15...

The room was small, the bathroom a closet; I have had spa food before that was elegant and lovely but I was extremely disappointed with the meals. They were bland, uninteresting, the fish for example, was overcooked, I was overwhelmed with kale.I will say the staff were lovely but the self promoting "doctor" that gave a seminar was appalling. Breakfast...

We really appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that we weren't what you expected. We are currently in process of making some shifts with our food plan, and eggs to-order are one of the changes we're looking forward to! Should you ever be willing to try us again, ask about our Medium sized rooms, Cottages or Suites....indeed, some...

I live in LA, so it was only a 1.5 hour drive to meet a girlfriend at the Oaks for the weekend. I had never been before, but was glad for the getaway. The staff were very friendly, the pool chairs very comfortable, and the food good despite the 1200 caloric restriction. My only gripes are that the spa is...

We're so glad to hear that most of your experience was good. True about the street noise, amazing that such a sleepy town can make noise at night! Some of our guests find that our Cottages and Suites, further from the main street, are significantly quieter. Improving our guests sleep experience is a topic we plan to work on in...

Love this place have been going for many years. Always go for Mother and daughter week with my Mom. She loves it. We see some of the same people every year, it's like a reunion. Very relaxing, great classes, food is excellent. You can do non stop exercise or just relax. Activities for all levels. The staff is friendly and...

We’ve been visiting the Oaks since 2009, and every year it’s consistently been the same great experience - friendly, helpful staff, a beautiful spa environment with comfortable suites and an amazing pool/outdoor area, fun activities, and an overall healthy, inviting vibe. The food also stands out as a wonderful aspect of the Oaks. It’s healthy and tasty, full of inspiring...

I enjoyed my first stay so much that I recently returned to the Oaks at Ojai. This time I took advantage of some of the other amenities they offer. I had a wonderful massage and enjoyed more of the classes and activities they offer. The staff is wonderful and make you feel right at home. If you are an early...

This was my fourth visit to the Oaks over the past 15 years and I was just as happy there as before. Other reviewers have criticized the facilities for being dated. I find the place comfy, cozy, and a retreat from plastic modern life. There is a great choice of exercise classes and some (not all) of the instructors are...

Ok. I came here informed after reading the reviews and after 5 days I agree with the good- and the bad. It's true if you want a place that's low key with good classes and good calorie controlled food and good massages it's a great value. BUT- the facilities are absolutely depressing if you have ever been to another destination...

sheilab56, thanks so much for taking time to describe your experience. Yep, we're ultra casual and laid back, but we are always wanting to improve, and several of your comments have inspired us to try new things. We did want you to know that we take sanitizing seriously! Our pedi-chairs aren't brand new, but we do follow state health department...

First and most important, I will go back and I recommend it. Perfect for a girl friend trip, we went for 4 days perfect amount of time. I was very worried when I read 1200 calories because I am more of a 3000 calorie girl, but the food was yummy and seemed like a lot beautiful area, tangerine trees everywhere,...

Let me start by saying that the Oaks is a good place if you are coming, like I was, for a reset after a highly caloric holiday season. It was my first visit and I found the lunches and dinners served in the dining room to be flavorful and nicely presented - not easy to do with around 350 calories...
