A friend found this place and said it is a must see. So I went and saw. It was a world like none other on this planet. It brought a calmness to my soul. The Ranch's location is ideal for day trips of exploration. We went to the near ghost town of Darwin where some die-hard artists call home. What... More

Booked this place at last minute(actually two weeks in advance) because nothing else available. It was a great place to stay, old and very funky so be prepared it is not a best western. Manager went out of way to help out, including running down jumper cables at 9 pm. She was the best part of the experience.

A great many of the reviewers complained about this place. I don't know why? It's a roadside Motel in the middle of nowhere! If you're expecting the Ritz or the Hilton, go somewhere else. If you're looking for a clean room and a relaxed evening outside with the 'Ranch' experience attached to the label, this is your place. The Ranch... More

Places like the Ranch Motel in Olancha stand out because they are unique - not because they are for everybody It has a fantastic view of the east-scarp of the high Sierras, a 'ranchy' old-timey feel and décor, a decent set of motel-checklist items including working internet, and lots of rabbits - if you're interested in that sort of thing.... Such a Lovely place... Rustic and quite Charming. Clean, Cozy and had Great views and hiking right on the property. Coffee, tea , and hot chocolate served in the morning. Nice, peaceful location backing up to the Sierra Nevadas. For those who can appreciate a Unique authentic American roadside gem...

My boyfriend and I spent a night here randomly because the motels on the other side of Death Valley were sold out. The grounds have an unmaintained somewhat creepy vibe at night I will admit, but in the morning this place was so charming. The bed was comfortable enough, the shower was hot, the electricity worked, there were no unpleasant... More

We were surprised to see some good reviews of this motel. We were just wondering if we were in the different motel. The motel is in the middle of nowhere. We arrived after dusk and parked in between the buildings. The check-in was quick and we were told the TV won’t work. After read some good reviews, I thought they... More

The folks here were really nice, friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately I'm not sure they have the funds to maintain the motel as there were many quite ropey DIY repairs e.g. broken bed leg was repaired by screwing the bed to the bedside table. GOOD: stunning views, rooms were clean plenty of towels. BAD: ropey DIY repairs, insects in room (we... More

This ranch is lovely, surrounded by beautiful scenery. We really appreciated the towels and soap/shampoo in the bathroom. The room was clean, beds were comfortable. We like the quietness of the site, after our day of touring the death valley. Don't expect a 5 stars hotel and you will come to enjoy the charm of this motel/ranch. One downside was... More
