Knew nothing about the Point Reyes area- had never even heard of it so took quite a gamble booking there. We were winners. loved the area and the Bear Valley Inn. Host welcoming, but not ott (Brits can find hospitality stateside a bit overwhelming).would definately stay there again but next time would hope for a little more bacon at breakfast....

Upon informing Amanda, proprietress at the Bear Valley Inn that we hadn't initially booked with her because we aren't sure we're really "B&B people" she laughed and said "yeah well I'm not sure I am either--and I own this place!" We were sold! Her "doily free zone" is fabulous--it's a great house, and she is totally wacky and friendly, genuinely...

My husband and I spent a weekend at the Bear Valley's Inn Hummingbird Cottage, and we found it to be a great place to relax and unwind. If you stay in the cottage, you don't join the other guests for breakfast in the main inn, which worked out perfectly for us. We liked having our own ample breakfast supplies on...

We stayed for several days at Bear Valley Inn and loved it. It's a nice, old house with wonderful, personable owners. It's within walking distance to the visitor center for Point Reyes National Seashore. The Inn has a nice living and dining room, and we were looking to get away from the feel and atmosphere of most hotels and lodgings,...

We stayed at the Bear Valley Inn early Feb 2007. It is a very comfortable and welcoming B&B. Amanda, the owner, is a terrific cook. we were treated to fresh eggs, or home made pancakes or french toast, fruit etc...I could go on and on. She is also very entertaining - full of stories and very willing to help/advise us...

We picked the Tides room based partly on the price - it was one of the cheaper rooms on offer in the area, and partly on the excellent position of the inn. We were delighted with our experience. The room was clean and very nicely decorated, including a hilariously high bed with little steps to reach it. The shower room...

This is a great place to stay to explore the Point Reyes area while enjoying a weekend away from TV and telephones! The rooms are lovely, the sitting room cosy and the breakfast excellent.

This inn provided us with a great location for our first visit to Point Reyes National Seashore. We stayed in the Hummingbird Cottage and loved the privacy, convenience to hiking trails and the ocean. Amanda was friendly and helpful - the perfect host! Can't wait to return.

We spent an absolutely great one night getaway at this wonderful bed and breakfast the last week in August. Amanda who runs trhe establishment with a gentle but firm hand was very helpful in giving suggestions where to have dinner nearby, and what activities the area provided. The breakfast was fine, the rooms cozy and the beds comfortable. The free...

We stayed at this inn in June. The accommodations were comfortable, and Amanda and Ken are friendly and down-to-earth. They are noticeably a bit more enthusiastic if you are into biking or hiking. We learned that if you bike to their place, you get a discount. We are not into those sports so felt a bit left out of the...

While we do get excited when folks bicycle to the inn (hence the discount) and we are fond of all of our guests. Most of our guests do enjoy the Pt. Reyes area for hiking and exploring. It is just as likely that kayak, birding or horseback riding enthusiasts grace our breakfast tables with tales of local adventures.
