We were happy to see the seal on the door that indicated the room had been sanitized. Also all the dishes and cutlery were in the dishwasher which was still hot and sealed when we checked in. We only used a couple of plates, bowls and mugs, leaving the rest in the sink, so hopefully housekeeping could just re-load and run the dishwater for the next folks. We did find the wood table and chairs a little sticky, but that could be from the cleaning products used. Majority of the patrons did respectfully wear masks, even in the parking structure - if they did not, we kept our distance and used the stairs.

RCI timeshare unit in Squaw Valley / Olympic Village. Came here for a weekend getaway in June and made the reservation pre-covid, and because of covid, we were able to reschedule without a change fee. We stayed in a studio which had a full kitchen (including a microwave, electric kettle, dishwasher, and stove), a fireplace, and a pullout couch which slept an additional two people. The wifi comes with the room and was fast enough for me to be able to WFH. The bathroom has a tub and there were plenty of towels. Parking is also included and is in a garage.

The check-in process was easy (starts at 4pm) and the front desk was very friendly. When we checked out, the front desk was closed (it was before 9am) but we were able to leave the gratuity envelope at the desk along with the key cards. They do recycle the cards and there’s a receptacle indicating such. There is a small “gym” with a treadmill and stationary bike (no weights). There are hot tubs available by reservation.

Overall, the location is good as it’s right next to Olympic Village and the slopes of Squaw Valley. The decor was wolf-themed as befits the name and it’s a cozy, homey stay.

We just returned from Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay! I have been extremely careful with where my family and I have stayed during the pandemic and Red Wolf did not disappoint. I had a total of 2 minor issues while we were there, and the staff responded immediately and quickly resolved them both.

The unit had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and everything was immaculate! We even had extra towels and toilet paper in the baths and extra trash bags and dishwasher detergent packets in the kitchen....all reducing the items we'd normally need to replace during the week. This is an older lodge, so there are no washer/dryers in each unit. However, there are adequate free washers and dryers on each floor, so there was never a wait to get a machine (and there aren't tons of rooms on each floor, so the demand is low).

If your're looking for convenience (to lifts and the Village shops), cleanliness and the ambience of a ski lodge, you should consider Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley !

My husband and I visited Squaw Valley for a wedding, which happened to fall on his birthday. I wanted to surprise him with something in the room so he didn't feel that his birthday was forgotten. I called the hotel ahead of time, with a request for a bottle of wine to be placed in the room upon arrival. I ended up speaking with the GM Nick Batlinger, who went above and beyond accommodating my request. My husband was over the moon when we checked into our room and were greeted with a bottle of Pinot Noir, an entire bag of beef jerky, trail mix, chocolates, and a cookies & cream cake (his favorite, which seemed almost like magic that they knew?!). Besides this favor, we enjoyed the room for several other reasons. Location is clutch, room is decorated in a fun rustic style but outfitted well, and overall a good value. Highly recommend for your next stay in Squaw Valley!

Room was really nice, we had a bigger room that had a separate bedroom and kitchenette with a balcony overlooking the pool area and mountains. The room was really spacious in the living room area as we had friends over comfortably seating up to 8 I would say. The amenities were also a big plus, the jacuzzi/clubhouse/sun deck area was a nice place to relax and we took a few bikes and a cooler down to the lake, which was a great way to spend a morning and having it included was all the better! Both girls and the guy at the front desk were also super helpful and friendly, definitely will look to stay here again next time in Tahoe.

We absolutely loved staying at Red Wolf Lodge! Location was amazing right on the base of Palisades and walking distance to the palisade village! We stayed for a week and the 2 bedroom was perfect for our family of 4 and we had friends that were in another room and the 2 bedroom was the perfect size for both our families to hang out in. The kids enjoyed the jacuzzi and parents enjoyed hanging out in the clubhouse. The rooms were very clean and staff was great! Can’t wait to go back!! The photo attached is a pic from the bedroom window so you can see how close the lifts are.

On July 7th I checked into Red Wolf at approximately 4 pm, left my stuff in the room and went to dinner. Upon arriving back at the hotel a nearby fire (the Royal Fire) had broke out. I tried to contact the hotel at approximately 6:15 but they were closed and had no way to get a hold of them. It said you could leave a message, but the messages were full. The people that I booked with also tried to get ahold of them to no avail. Since I lived through the Paradise fire and have ptsd I was not waiting around for an evacuation notice. Many people of Paradise didn't get evacuation notices and perished. The Red Wolf Lodge chose to not even reimburse me even for one day when they could have still rented it out for my 2nd day. I wanted to make sure if I chose to never stay there again that it was their fault that the chose not to reimburse me, not Expedia. They did take the blame that it was them. They said that since an evacuation notice wasn't given out they would not take care of me. Not everyone has lived through a fire before to understand that waiting around can kill you. The Red Wolf Lodge chose to not take care of me. Don't expect them to take care of you either if something goes wrong that you did not expect.

First, the location is excellent. Just a short walk from the village and some lifts. On the other hand, customer service was very poor. They were under major balcony construction from 8:00 - 5:00 during my entire stay, and was not given the chance to either reschedule or change rooms for the "inconvenience". Then they had the audacity to charge me for a lost ski locker key after being explicitly told that I could leave the keys in the room on check out. I did so in a very clear and open spot, but after two weeks of "investigating" nothing was resolved.

Everything was nice, but the service was sadly very poor

Prime location in beautiful Olympic Valley (Lake Tahoe), especially for skiers. Comfortably furnished units with lots of amenities including free bike use for the many bike trails in the area. The facility is older but well-maintained, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

you should start getting a light frosting on the mountain at the time you're going in November. my sister-in-law lives about 40 minutes away from Lake Tahoe so I'm very familiar with the weather and the general area degrees wise at night late twenties midday upper fifties. as far as hiking trails weather permitting if there's not a lot of snow on the ground there's plenty of trails that you can hike. there's plenty exploring hiking to do just be sure to do your research and don't underestimate the weather when you go in the Heights you definitely are going to the right place

Hello Folks from Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley. Were planning to stay in your property for the week Mar 29- Apr 5, 2015. Can you guys give me a heads up on what activities we can do during this time ( Im with my family). What weather do we expect for that week? What types of clothes do we need to prepare to feel comfortable as we go around the localities and cities that surround Lake Tahoe? Ill itemize my other queries here: 1. Were coming from Fairfield, CA and were renting a minivan, Do we need snow tires during this time of the year? We will be renting the van for 2 or more weeks, as we are venturing on a long road trip (with 2 or 3 1-2 day stopovers) from Olympic valley to San Diego. 2. This will be our first time to live in a ski resort. We dont ski and we dont have any bit of experience. What sort of activity can we do if it is totally unfamiliar to us? 3. What sort of seasonal activities/festivals/ events are expected in the surrounding areas of Olympic Valley, incl Incline Village, Tahoe City, Tahoe Vista, Stateline Nevada, Zephyr cove and south lake tahoe? Is it also worth to visit Reno? 4. Are there nearby convenient stores, supermarkets or even marketplace in Olympic valley? You may call us Mall rats, but my children's pastime is visiting and hanging out in malls. is there any nearby? 5. Are your outdoor pools heated? If not, do you have indoor pools that are heated? We dont have much body insulation (all of us are slender) and my kids are scared stiff of the idea of swimming in early spring cold weather. Well, thats about all the things I need to ask. When something comes to mind, Ill come back. Thanks Guys in advance for your response, In the meantime, pls allow me to greet our future hosts a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Fulfilling New Year!

In house activities include a Monday morning welcome breakfast, wine and cheese night, movie night, picture frame painting, guided snow shoe hike, holiday treat decorating, hot apple pie (hard cider), s'mores by the firepit etc. Squaw Valley resort offers skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, sledding, tubing etc. The weather is unpredicatable, but we recommend you prepare for winter weather ranging from the 20's to the 50's. 1. You will need chains if it snows. 2. Ice skating, tubing, sledding. 3. Please view the following websites for other activity information in and around the lake. squawalpine, gotahoenorth, tahoe and yes, Reno is worth a visit as well. 4. There is a small market located in The Village at Squaw Valley, but for grocery shopping you will need to go to the Safeway in Truckee (10mi) or the Savemart or Safeway in Tahoe City (7mi). There are no malls in Lake Tahoe, however Reno does have an indoor mall. 5. We do not have a pool onsite. We have 3 heated outdoor spas. We look forward to your visit in March and please do not hesitate to call us with any additional questions at 530-583-7226.
