This is a republish as I had forgotten I was logged into another account. We had the recent Thanksgiving day pleasure of visiting Pacific Grove. This location offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas in Monterey because it is on large grounds but fits into the environment quite well. It has several enticements for the... More

The recent visit to Monterey-Pacific Grove brought me to this rustic location. They registered us in Longview North which did provide a remarkable view of the ocean. The room is small with bathroom. The feature of this convention center lodging is that from most of the buildings I'd say you are no further than 300 yards from the coastline with... More

I've stayed here at least 4 times with and without friends and once for a conference. I love historical places and choose to stay in the historical buildings. Every time there was major construction on the grounds. Disrupts sleep and relaxation. Constant noise starting early and ending late. The grounds are in constant state of turmoil. The trees are being... More

So happy I walked up to use the restroom while my son was surfing at Asilomar beach. I cancelled my other hotel reservations, and we stayed here for 3 days. Old California lodge style -- open beams, huge fireplace, great bedding, warm and inviting. It's perched right on the coast with an unbelievable 5 mile trail for hiking, running and... More

This is an overpriced property in need of a complete renovation. The rooms we had were old with poor ventilation, cracked and chipped woodwork and tile and the hall ways looked like a Holiday Inn right out of the 70's and not updated since then. Food was below average and the staff could care less if they helped you or... More

Peaceful, Serene, beautiful, wonderful staff. The room we stayed in was towards the back of the property. Didn't see anyone on the grounds the first night! The rooms are quite outdated but the grounds are amazing. It's a state park but feels more like a national park. The main lodge and cafe are really great. They make the food on... More

I was here at this facility the weekend of Labor Day 2016. The location is great and I believe their location is their greatest asset. The facility is clearly old, there are many things that needs renovation and TLC. My room was very spacious but the whole building smells old, the carpet was old and the bed was not comfortable... The good: The views, birds singing in the trees, comfy king sized bed, quality of the food was yummy. Wine at the cafe was excellent. Overall, a good value for the money. The bad: No fridge in the room, the decor of the rooms is straight outta the 70's--get ready for a flash back if you lived through the questionable... More

Not at all what we were expecting. There was no charm to the room. It was old, smelly, and lacked any appeal. The only way to best compare the room is to that of any outdated Motel 6. The entire stay was bland. No warm welcome experience at the front desk. The check in lobby was dull. Just a large... More
