Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA was the best place for not only a family reunion but also a great place to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. The sound of waves, beautiful beach across from the cabins was just a perfect place to spend a day with young and old! Walking through the peaceful, serene, woods to make it to breakfast...

Came for a conference and we stayed at Pirates Den. It was absolutely charming! A corner room with sweet windows on 2 walls that overlooked trees on one side. The only challenge was the thin walls as others have said. I brought my sound machine and ear plugs. Stayed for 6 nights and only once did the machine and ear...

My 3 girlfriends and I from high school (a long time ago) decided to go on a vacation together. We heard about Asilomar in Pacific Grove, CA and we stayed for 5 nights and 4 days. It is a California State Park facility. It has two huge public rooms, one called a social hall and one the dining hall. The...

With kids from ages 2, 4, 5, 7, and 13, Asilomar was great fun for my husband and our entire family. Enjoyed the included breakfast buffet, the nearby trails on the dunes, the heated outdoor pool, the volleyball court, and even the room comfortably accommodated us all. The surrounding trees were beautiful and held deer and butterflies. There are bikes...

I loved this place. Our room was in the "Stuck-Up Inn", one of the Julia Morgan-designed buildings. It was nicely decorated in Arts-and-Crafts style, very clean and well-maintained. The bathroom was basic but had good-quality toiletries and linens. No TVs or phones - perfect! The lack of electronic diversions (although there is Wifi) means that people get out of their...

The famous Asilomar, long a standard for visitors to the Monterey Peninsula, still charms. It has rustic buildings that seem to blend with the site in a fine way. It doesn't have a lot of the mod cons that many folks seek in a hotel: no room telephones; no television. The outside of the buildings are in need of fixing...

Asilomar Conference Grounds is clearly a well known and well traveled destination. Definitely worth a visit and stay. Could definitely benefit from an interior upgrade. But fine all around. Breakfast is terrific. Arrive around 8am.

We were staying three nights in the Asliomar. We have chosen a Julia Morgan room and we knew that we would get a small room without the amenities of a modern hotel room. However there were two two things which have to be mentioned: 1) The Julia Morgan rooms were unfortunately not in good condition. The wall papers are getting...

I didn't know that Julia Morgan designed servants quarters, but surprise! Our room was very small and spare, too hot, no coffee maker, no phone, no TV or radio. All we had for entertainment was every sound our neighbors made. We were put on the ground floor so to have any privacy we had to leave our black out curtains...

The rooms are not luxurious, no telephones, no TV but with an oceanview room, you can sit on the porch and view the ocean for your entertainment. It is in the most beautiful location, directly across from Asilomar beach. You can take a morning stroll down pathways directly to the beach,or walk on the property itself. It's a place to...
