This lodge was a great choice for our first time to the Monterey area. The receptionists were very kind and gave excellent suggestions and advice. The proximity to the lighthouse, the monarch sanctuary, the coast, and the quaint downtown was more than we ever expected. It's all right there! We will plan to come back to Pacific Grove and would... More

Used a Groupon deal for a quick getaway- it was well worth it. Quiet and clean...great bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the continental breakfast and location is an easy walk to the shore. Saw deer roaming around in the morning- awesome!!

Hotel is dated, but I found the rooms to be clean. Some rooms also have a small ocean view. We stayed in Room 207 this time and it was much better as we had a door to room and a sliding door out to the balcony. Some rooms just have a sliding door and no windows so at night you... More

I found this lodge via Groupon called & spoke w/ Mgr. Steve who was nice & gave me a Fair price for our overnight stay. Upon arrival we entered the office to check in which was dated & had a musty odor, we proceeded to our room which was clean but again had the same musty smell, we had to... More

A little way out of town but close to 17 mile drive and Pacific Grove. Room spacious and clean. Free continental breakfast. Eat in Pacific Grove rather than Cannery Row. restaurants much better and more reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Don't believe the poor reviews!

When there is any kind of competition for accommodations in Monterey, you have to accept that it is a seller's market. Olympia Lodge is lower priced, along with the Sea Breeze across the street. The physical plant is perhaps 2 maybe 3 steps better than Motel6. Not luxurious, not shabby. The setting is pleasant, and there are at least 3... More

This was the most awful place we have stayed in Pacific Grove. The so called sliding door to the room entrance was already open and not locked. We found out later it was a problem locking both the front and balcony so called glass sliding door. We felt unsafe and took all of our valuables with us every time we... More

The office staff were kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. The place is outdated by the sea. The area is beautiful, but a bit run down. The room we were in had a musky mildew scent, but once the sliding glass door was open, the misty fresh air neutralized the odor. The beds were nothing spectacular nor the furniture, but the room... I regularly kayak the Monterey/Carmel area, and usually stay in Pacific Grove. The Olympia Lodge is one of the better deals for the money. It's a little run down, but it's clean and comfortable and in a perfect location for easy access to many activities in the general area. I'd certainly stay there again at the Groupon rate.

None of the things that are supposed to slide did. Not the balcony door, not the screen door, but worst than all was the glass shower door. Glass to metal, my wife needed help to open and close it. By the look of the metal, its been this way for some time. The t.v. couldn't have been any larger than... More
