Their website claims to sell Aquarium tickets at 2010 prices for $29.95 but DON'T. They will NOT honor their website price but instead charge you $34.95 same price as the Aquarium. Manager Roxanne said they don't care what their website states they paid $32.95 so she is selling them for $34.95. Bad customer service!!!!!!!

My husband and I stayed here in the beginning of May 2013. We stayed for two nights, over a Monday and Tuesday and paid around $91 (after taxes) through priceline.com. The location is good, but it's not right in the middle of things in Monterey that most people want to go to, so you'll want to have a car if... More

This is where we stay when we want to visit the Monterey area for a few days. It is not fancy, but it is very pleasant and in a quiet area, but a short drive to all the attractions. We have never had a problem and the price is reasonable for Monterey. We don't use the pool or sauna, so... More

We mistakenly booked this hotel for the wrong date via an online hotel website. The staff at Monarch (Roxanne & Fred) went out of their way to straighten out the problem and at no additional charge to us. We were quite grateful and thankful for their helpfulness. Roxanne even suggested some local attractions that we might be interested in. Hotel... More

I reserved two rooms for my daughters wedding on April 25, 3013. First the lady who checked me in had no clue about what customer meant. She kept asking me if I wanted to wait for the other person to show up to check them in. I told her the other person was "me", that I had 2 rooms booked.... More

We have stayed in Pacific Grove many times and have stayed at several of the hotels in this area. All are similar. The location is great for walks to the beach but you will need your car to get to dinner. Monarch is a bit dated but our room was clean, spacious and surprisingly quiet given the number of families... More

First off ..... I booked the Monarch Hotel on Booking.com. We had a choice between a 2-queen room at 312 sq. ft and a 2-queen room at 400 sq. ft. We opted for the 400 sq. ft because we wanted the extra floor/room space for our kids. It cost a little bit more, but that was fine with us. WELL,... More

We travelled through this area and decided that we would find somewhere to stay for the night. Most places that we enquired in were either booked, over priced or could not accommodate 3 people. Finally, we found this place. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was ideal for our family and was clean. The microwave and... More

Nice hotel in suburbia very close to 17 mile drive and near to both Monteray and Carmel. Nice room our only moan would be free wifi was patchy at best with plenty of connections but very slow service. Staff were well informed about local area and helpful about trip options. Whale watching great as was 17 mile drive. Would stay... More

Great location. Protected parking w easy access to rooms. The bed could have been more comfortable-it creaked with every turn I made to get comfortable. Our key cards stopped working after the first use which was a bit odd. You are supped to use a key card to exit the pool area but neither ours nor another guests would work.... More
