The Saguaro Palm Springs is a colorful hotel in the desert. There's plenty of sunshine, a buzzing pool scene, and lots of local flavor. The 244 room hotel has multiple restaurants, bars, and meeting spaces -- all of which surround a stunning pool location. Designed to reflect the colorful vibrant spirit of the Coachella Valley desert, the bold color palette is the work of renowned architects Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat, who have infused the property with hues that reflect indigenous desert flowers.

So I stayed here for a weekend with my partner and two friends.
The place is great fun, nicely laid out, pool is great, colours are great, views are great, location is great, hot tub is great.
I would come back.
Some critique’s staff at check in weren’t very friendly, my room was booked and paid for with a email confirmation, they acted like I was trying to fool them and tried to charge me again for the room. Cheeky.
The fire pit was turned off and the lights over the hammocks never turned on. Small things make big differences.

Stayed here for 3 nights with a friend for a quick weekend trip.

The hotel is older but they’ve done a good job of making it fun and trendy. The crowd on the weekends is the LA crowd - age range 20’s and mid-30’s. Good people watching. The Sunday and Monday crowd was more chill and included more families and kids.

The pool was super crowded on the weekend so you definitely need to get your seat early, otherwise you will end up sitting on the hard concrete with your thin towel. On Saturday the pool was over capacity and they had to limit people coming and going and a small line formed.

The pool bartender and restaurant staff were great. The customer service for housekeeping needs some improvements. We called on two different days to get our room freshened up and no one came by, even thought they told us they would come between 12-5pm.

We just got back from our vacation and we were very pleased with our stay here. We wanted a Retro Palm Springs vibe and got it here for sure.

The check-in process was easy, quick and we ended up getting a room with a balcony facing the Pool, which I would recommend.

We loved all of the vibrant colors, it was clean and the pool area is awesome.

We also loved that the hottub was also on and working and the bartender is out by the pool on Thurs-Sun too.

They have a bar and restaurant on site and the hotel is always cleaning and sanitizing both indoors and outdoors.

We would definately come back.

Anytime I head out to the desert which is a lot....The Saguaro is my go to place! I have been visiting that hotel for many years now and have never been disappointed, although this time I wasn’t as excited about the room I was in but once I called the front desk and spoke to Paolo he did a quick fix and in less then 10 minutes I was in a beautiful room over looking the pool on the third floor, which I highly recommend getting as the view of the palm trees, mountains and pool are gorgeous, your social media will thank you for your posting & your followers will instantly ask “ where is that?”
The Customer Service was impeccable by Paolo and I thank The Saguaro for hiring such a gift! He was swift, strategic & kind the moment I mentioned my dilemma.
Room is bright cheery & decor is nostalgic with plenty of photo ops to post. The Hotel is conveniently across from a market so you can pick up a few things if needed, there’s a fridge in the room also. If you forget your toothbrush no worries just call the front desk they’ve got you covered! Need a mask no problem they’ve got that too.
The Pool has plenty of seating as well as Cabanas And you can take a small to medium size floatie just be sure to bring an air pump. There’s a Pool bar where you can order a margarita & the most delicious chicken tacos/fries From El Jefe and in the evening have a nice sit down dinner by candlelight at this same restaurant as well. The convenience of that is amazingly awesome! The area surrounding the outside of the pool is so fun, there’s Jenga blocks and sitting areas to just catch up with friends or read a book, Also cute set ups with fire pits.
The lobby is a must see, there is a cute Barbie Doll Art Display when checking into your room and that’s one of my favorite things to post, they also have bikes for guests to use while visiting.
Now this is my most favorite part.....their swimming pool is open until 10pm! How great is that? So even if you arrive a bit later in the afternoon you still have plenty of time to take in a relaxing dip under the stars. I highly recommend The Saguaro when visiting Palm Springs & if you get a chance to meet Paolo I’m sure it will be great! The Vibe is very welcoming. Enjoy!

Stayed here for a friend’s bachelorette party and while we had fun, I am not rushing back. Finding a cockroach in my bathroom at 4am isn’t my jam, though I will say the front desk was accommodating when I called the next morning asking to move to a higher floor.
My friend’s comment of “lipstick on a pig” is totally accurate. It’s an old motel repainted bright colors. I think even some of the furniture was original and just repainted.
The service on the whole was not great. We ate breakfast at El Jefe one morning and had trouble getting water and coffee refills and a check. When my friend asked about housekeeping/fresh towel, they told her “sorry, the hotel is at 90% capacity and they can’t service every room”. She did waive her resort fee for the day, but come on, that’s not something you tell a customer. Shout out to Melissa, our server at the pool both days. She was amazing and super quick!
Overall if you’re 25 and just need somewhere cheap to crash and party, it’s probably fine. But I’ll find somewhere else.

My partner stayed here last year and when we planned to travel to PS for Modernism Week we decided that The Saguaro was the place to stay. It is located in a convenient place for quick access to the centre of the town and for getting away to nearby places. I liked the simplicity of the rooms, the blazes of colour that gave a welcoming feel and the helpfulness of the staff. Our room was a good size - meaning I could have bags opened and not trip over them - the wifi was excellent, and the bathroom was well appointed. My only complaint is that there seemed to be a generator or something similar that droned on most of the night. I must have gotten used to it because I didn't hear it after the second night. That said, by about 7 or 8 at night the outside noise had all but gone. Mind you it was February and the nights did get chilly.

Like many current reviews have stated, the vibe is cool but the room we stayed in definitely needs updating, especially given the high price for mediocre accommodations.

PROS: Awesome colorful vibe in every direction. The staff was nice and the pool scene was perfect for my 12 and 21 year old children. We had so much fun in the pool and really enjoyed the all-day party scene and music. Also, the room itself was huge and relatively clean with a mini fridge (apparently only for beverages as there was no microwave to reheat leftovers if needed).

CONS: The price for 2 weeknights was close to $600 with resort fees, taxes, and facility fees, which is high given the budget motel condition of the actual room. The faux leather table coverings, purple carpet, and pink walls were all covered in stains. The toilet was unbalanced and rocked back and forth when sitting or getting up, causing the back lid to make a very loud clanking sound every time someone sat and then again upon standing. I finally had to shove a folded up piece of cardboard under the front bottom to end this annoyance.

The other main issue was the lack of hot water. Our shower water would only get luke warm when set to the hottest setting and we tried various times of day but it made no difference. Of lesser inconvenience to us was the fact that the water did not come out cold either- just the same luke warm temperature no matter where the shower facet was set.

Overall, we had a really nice time and I can see how this would be an awesome place for young adults to stay and party. I'm glad we chose to try this hotel during my first visit to Palm Springs. However, for the cost, I'll probably choose another spot next time unless better prices are offered or upgrades are made to the interior.

Finally, like others, I was told a receipt would be emailed to me following checkout but I also never received this so make sure to ask for a paper copy when you leave if this is something you require. The unused portion of the nightly deposit for incidentals like movie rentals, mini-bar snacks/beverages etc. is also supposed to go back on my credit card so hopefully they remember to do it and I'll see that $84 sooner than later!

Dear Explore44343799841, Thank you for taking the time share your feedback from your recent stay. It is wonderful to hear your time with us was both enjoyable and suitable for your travel needs. However, I am disappointed to be informed of the poor quality of service you experienced from engineering department. It is not how we wish to conduct our business and want all of our guests leaving with colorful and fun memories. I will be passing this information on to our Director of Engineering to ensure that these issues are addressed. We see this as an important opportunity for growth and improvement and we always encourage any and all remarks. This is a rundown motel that painted the walls bright colors and has a big pool so they think they can charge $200+ a night. Sketchy element in the parking lot. Lots of bums, loiterers, skateboarders, etc. We were awakened at 1am by a party in the next room and the front desk person wouldn't break it up because there was no security guard on site (!), so we had to pack up and cross the creepy parking lot in our PJs to a new room in the middle of the night. A weird guy on a bike grabbed the outer door as it was closing and came into the building, so I quickly got into my room and deadbolted the door. The hotel promised to refund the night because of the inconvenience, then only refunded our $45 resort fee, which apparently funds the pool DJ who prevents you from taking a nap after the parties have kept you up all night. So in short, choose this hotel if you are a skeevy bum who likes to party and has money to waste on a dump with no amenities. Our room wasn't even serviced. Nothing like coming back to the room after an all-day wedding and the bed isn't even made. Oh, and when I called to ask about the refund, they wouldn't give it to me because I couldn't remember the name of the person I spoke to at 1am with music blaring next door. I guess they don't keep records of who's working at a specific date and time? There are so many cute hotels to choose from in Palm Springs, do yourself a favor and avoid this dumpster fire.

The hotel was fun and inviting with all the color and neon art, but the rooms were pretty outdated and cleanliness was sub-par. You can definitely tell that in the Summer time it's a party hotel. When I got to my hotel room after I checked in, my toilet kept running and I quickly realized it would not flush. After calling the front desk and the phone ringing off the hook for a good 5 minutes, I tried my luck at finding a cleaning lady who I thought could help. She didn't speak English and motioned she would try to help. I decided to go down to the front desk just to be sure and the front desk person called maintenance. The toilet was fixed 20 minutes later. As a suggestion, I would 1000% bring slippers to wear because the carpet is questionable as was the countertops and bedding in terms of cleanliness. If you're looking for a fun hotel, this is it. If you are looking for a comfortable relaxing stay, I would seek out other options.

Hi Courtney! Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback as we see this as opportunity for growth. I am so sorry to hear of the trouble you initially had ith your toilet and trying to reach the front desk. Please note, due to COVID, we are limited in staffing and the front desk agent may sometimes need to step away to assist a guest. However, I am happy to hear that the issue was resolved. In regards to the condition of the room, I understand that you booked one of our entry level Mountain View Rooms. Please connect with me on your next visit as I would be more than happy to offer you a complimentary upgrade to a pool view room as those were recently refreshed. Thank You So Much!
