I did not want to pay a lot of money for my first trip and it showed. I learned there are things I have to have with my hotel room. CTR was not it. The rooms are old ( Think highway 66 back in the 1950's-60's. There's carpet which should be removed for I never saw the housekeepers with vacuum cleaners. My king size bed was very lumpy on one side . So I started to lay on the other side and it was better. The coffee and Mr. Coffee was crap. I thought I was drinking chestnuts. Thank God for Koffi up the street. The fixtures were scary. I thought I would be pulling them out of the wall ( shower)and creating a mess. Bring your own toilet paper- their is literally sandpaper. Outside is very dark , I had to use my flashlight to see where I was going. The menu at the Reef is also dated- just happy hour food if you like just burger and fries. Sancho's was good but a lot of food. So not having a microwave in my room, I could not take any leftovers back. I thought it was weird that both Sancho's and the Reef did not know what Sangrias are...But I was there for the pool and sunshine and that made me content. The hot tub was strong.

Stayed here for a long weekend during a festival held on property. Festival is an annual event. The Caliente Tropics did not disappoint! The property pool and grounds are well maintained and pretty. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. The Reef, Sanchos snd Sanchos Cantina all on site and were great options for food and excellent service. We will be back!

I was genuinely impressed with the level of service I received during my two night stay at this resort. I had called in advance inquiring about pet policies and ended up paying only 20 dollars for the stay which I was pleased with given other hotels were charging more for having pets. In addition, Dustin was extremely helpful and so was the rest of the crew (in particular a Latino gentleman whom I presumed was the manager and a lady with braids who had nothing but wonderful recommendations of the souvenir shops to visit in the area). Not only were they very cool with me checking out two hours later (I thought checkout was at 2 but it was noon actually) but they also went above and beyond finding my wallet which I stupidly forgot and desperately needed to check in to my next planned hotel; they were also kind enough to take photos of me in front of the hotel prior to me leaving. Overall, when in Palm Springs, this hotel is an excellent place to stay. One thing I will mention is that it is a little unfortunate the proximity of the Motel 6 as I could sense sketchy things can happen there so perhaps I'd caution a solo female traveler and if you do end up booking, try to request the side closest to the lobby.

My wife and I stayed a week, over Mother’s Day weekend at the end of the season. The location was close to friends and we thought the Tiki theme would be fun. Tacky is more like it. This is a very worn out old hotel. Our room, 120 (described to us as quiet, but actually next to the dumpster) was furnished with broken pieces that looked like they came from, well - that dumpster. Floors were damaged, paint was peeling, tile grout was filthy, shower control spun freely, no screen on the bathroom window so lots of flies from the dumpster. We were told there was a $15 one-time fee to have a tiny microwave in the room, but we were charged $15 per day. Pool furniture was also broken and guests were often drunk. One hen party brought large inflatable penises to the pool. We will not be returning.

If you get Room 118 immediately ask for a different room as Room 118 is a total dump: no door deadlock, cheap tile floors that get cold at night, tepid shower water that suddenly goes cold, and overall filthy. Check other reviews, someone else had similar issues with Room 120 which is in the same wing as Reception/check-in; this wing needs a professional renovation. The wing opposite the reception lobby is way better in terms of room quality. Management claims if you bring up room issues they will fix/reassign your room so if you’re unfortunate enough to be assigned this room hope management is true to their word. This hotel should not be renting out some of the rooms on this property until their quality is equal to or better than the Motel 6 next door which is cheaper.

Do you like bed bugs? If not, this is probably not the right place for you. Overall, even aside from waking up with bites all over us, it is a pretty disappointing place. We arrived at night and the lobby and the whole check in felt creepy. The pool is open late and that's nice but the whole place was dark and rooms were dingy with rotting particle board furniture and gross carpet. We had hair in our bathroom and signs warning us of extra charges for everything and a fun sign about bugs, likely to mask the bed bug situation or blame the people staying there. Rooms had trash bags taped up over the windows for what I was told was plastic covering new windows because they were "replacing the windows". Bizarre, I've never heard of or seen that before, and also the trash bag windows weren't at all new. It was all really just off, and I felt very misled since they call themselves a "resort" or the very least a hotel, it's not, it's a road side motel with a tiki theme, like a not-so-nice motel 6 at best. The ice machines didn't work so you had to go into the gym, furniture was missing doors and crumbling, just felt run down dirty and gross, the pool area is nice-ish. It is in Palm Springs so the back drop of the mountains is spectacular, but that's not unique to this crummy motel. It's like if spirit airlines called themselves a "luxury airline." I thought it would be nice and family friendly because that's what the reviews said, but no. waking up to bites all over us really was just the tipping point. In short, crummy motel, the spirit airlines of lodging and bed bugs.

We booked the Double Queen Accessible Room(#151) for one night(last room available) and it was disappointing. The wallpaper was peeling all over the room, Leaking sink pipes, water damage in ceiling, and a constant moldy/dusty smell mixed with stale cigarettes and alcohol. The room phone did not work. The shower head was very cheap and flimsy, lacking the flexibility it should have. The furniture and bed frames were SUPER worn down as well. What made this even more disappointing was that it’s an accessible room for people with disabilities. They deserve a comfortable, clean stay just like anybody else. It kind of says a lot about the property management if they don’t take that in to consideration. I also know other rooms are better because I’ve stayed here before and chose to book the last room available. The public areas are enjoyable. if you get a regular room it should be a decent stay but if you need an accessible room, DON’T GO HERE.

I seriously hope the property makes some big changes to this room. For the sake of people who need accessible facilities. I regret giving my business to this establishment.

It’s an older converted motel and it does show some wear and tear. But it had some things that $350/night hotels lack. It had a towel ring next to the sink. It had really big, really deep drawers. It had a mini-fridge that was empty and actually useful. It had a safe large enough to fit a laptop. There was room to hang a full-length dress. Bathroom was small, but O.K. with a walk-in shower Bed was big and comfortable. The folks at the front desk were very polite, welcoming, and efficient. Room was clean, clean, clean.

On the downside, walls are thin and you hear a lot of outside noise. Very squeaky floors. I wouldn’t have wanted to be in a room under us. Strangely, no clock in the room. Water temperature in the shower can quickly change quickly from comfortable to cold and back to comfortable. There is not an elevator for second floor rooms, but they warn you about that when you check in.

We stayed in a second floor Lanai King room. The rooms are in various states of renovation, so ask for a recently renovated room.

Laura at the front desk was super helpful with a problem my head with a double booking on a third-party website. She also let me know that they will match any price you find on another website, so next time I will just book directly through the hotel.

The tiki touches everywhere were super adorable and I loved the Christmas and Hawaiian music that was piped in to the pool area. Also super loved the very hot Jacuzzi. Nothing was ever crowded and everything was super well-kept and clean.

The room is super Duper clean and also had little tiki touches that made it extra special.

The only tiny tiny complaint I have is that the stairwells were extremely dark at night, but that being my only complaint means the place was great.
Sadly because of Covid the tiki bar was closed during our stay, but it looks great.

Not a great place. The first room was infested. Literal bed begs everywhere. Took videos and photos. Brought it up to front staff an hour after we checked in and they gave us another gross room. It was smaller and cheaper than the room we originally paid for. No price adjustment refund or other mending solution was offered for the downgrade or inconvenience. The bed in the second room was full of horrendous stains and not to mention both beds were extremely uncomfortable and lumpy. Staff would not refund after we decided we should stay elsewhere. The restaurant on site was the only positive. Food and staff were great. The pool was heated (in the middle of summer?) and did not look clean. The AC in the room was loud and did not cool the entire room. All of the ice machines were out of service. Walls are so thin you can hear people walking up and down the halls. Overall, will not be coming back despite its great location, do not recommend.
