Thirteen lushly planted acres in a desert climate is probably the most defining and remembered quality of one's stay here at this luxury resort. Sense of place is shaped by walking these planted paths beneath arches of green, through tunnels of hedgerow that periodically open up to the spread of a lawn, the shade of a tree, a cluster of tall pampas grass or a court of palms. A fire circle, a tiled fountain, fruit trees and herb gardens -- hammocks, strung between palm trees, hidden niches -- just some of the finds along the way. Whether exploring the entire weave of walkways throughout the Estate or simply following the path that takes you from your room to breakfast at Norma's, a drink at the MiniBar or a poolside chaise, they are their own suspended moments -- sometimes heavy with scent in the night air, bright with morning sun overhead, or thick with the warmth of a late afternoon.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

The Parker Palm Springs is often celebrated for its elegant amenities, such as the inviting warm pool and beautifully manicured grounds, and guests are particularly impressed with the hotel's cleanliness, noting the spotless conditions and pleasant scents. While the hotel's atmosphere is recognized for its stylish decor and chic vibe, some guests have faced inconsistencies with room quality and service, experiencing noise issues, occasional disorganization, and service lapses.
Despite these hiccups, the opulent bathrooms and overall ambience often leave a positive impression, although the cost is sometimes questioned in terms of value.

Many previous comments have mentioned the lack of hot water in the shower. During a four night stay, I tried 4 times to shower and each time the water never got hot- luke warm at best- mostly cool. This really is totally unacceptable in a five star hotel charging exorbitant rates. So beware of rooms at the end of the hall in the South Building. Other than that (and it’s a huge that), The Parker is a lovely hotel. The grounds are beautiful. The adult pool is super nice and peaceful (the attendant brought iced lemon water to everyone-a great touch) as is the indoor pool. I stayed clear of the family pool as it was too noisy with kids. The service was friendly and efficient particularly the servers at the restaurant Norma. And the doormen/valet were excellent. Only on one day, our room had not been serviced by 4:30. When asking the front desk, I was told you have to request housekeeping service (!!!?!!? At a hotel of this price range???) but she remedied this immediately and the room was serviced shortly after. When you enter the hotel lobby you are greeted by a delightful fragrance. So, all in all, if you want to spend top dollar, The Parker is a good choice. Just beware of the shower hot water or rather lack of it.

My wife and I came for our anniversary and had an amazing time! The restaurants are fantastic, the grounds are beautiful, and the service is unbeatable! The hot dog at counter-reformation is one of the best I’ve ever had. The service by the pool makes it the perfect place to chill during the summer.

The Parker Palm Springs is top notch. From the moment you arrive you are treated very well by all of the staff. Everyone is friendly, polite and helpful. We visited the Lemonade Stand for fantastic refreshments, Mr. Parker for a delicious dinner, Norma’s for the best fish tacos, and the lobby bar for crafty drinks with our favorite bartender, Tony. I love that room service comes later throughout the day so you don’t feel pressured to get up and go. Also, the nightly turn down service is magical. Fresh towels and slippers placed just so when you return from dinner is such a nice touch. I can’t recommend The Parker enough. The hospitality makes it impossible to stay anywhere else!

I had a terrible experience at the Parker while evacuating LA for the fires. This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel, neither the service nor the rooms.
The manager was rude, short and cold. I had my terrified cat with me, I was told my room wasn’t ready. I asked if there was a place I could briefly have my cat use his portable litter box after the long drive, I was asked if I needed doggie bags. I told them no, it’s a cat. They then told me the cat can use the garden as a bathroom? I told them I can’t let my cat run wild it’s a cat. It made no sense. They were sure to shove a $200 per day pet agreement to me in the midst of this. There was zero empathy or problem solving. I ended up setting up with my cat in my car for two hours (with a soiled carrier). I was so overwhelmed I cried. This is not how 5 star hotels treat their guests. There should be kindness, and going above and beyond to find a solution.
When I got to the room, there were so many stains on the carpet and peeling paint, the dust on the ledges and air vent was terrible. I couldn’t open the windows as there were no screens. My room was missing a chair by the table, bed comfort was that of a futon, and the sheets were so starchy and bleached. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. I left a day early. This room is worth $200 tops, not 800-1000 which is what they charged.
The valet was unbelievably kind. I was embarrassed I cried I was but valet was empathic and accommodating. He gave me a spot to park and take care of my kitty.

When you book a 5 star, $1200 per night hotel, you expect a lot. The Parker house is a gem, albeit one that has lost its luster. Still great character and great service but the experience breaks down on 2 fronts. 1st are the rooms which need a rehab that includes sound proof doors and walls so you don’t have to hear everyone walking buy or entering their room with the thud of a door. Second and more importantly, is the extreme commerciality in everything. I spent $2500 for two nights and yet, I felt nickled and dimed at every opportunity. From the $60 per night to park, to $5 for wife, to $75 for a resort fee, a $30 egg sandwich, a $38 glass of wine, a $330 massage with an extra $60 pushed by the masseuse to use their magical oil which my wife had already declined on the intake, ta $250 for a cheep bathing suit (my wife forgot hers) that looked like a $5 Temu special. We didn’t leave the hotel feeling refreshed. We ran away feeling taken advantage of. Never to return.

The worst value I have ever experienced. We stayed one night, it was over $1,000, we were kept awake late my the neighboring room, the hotel has no sound insulation.
When in the shower in the morning we could hear neighbors being intimate in the next room.
The only serviceable amenity is the spa but it's only open 10-6 and is packed the whole time.
They charge $45 for parking, the food prices are nuts, the massage prices range from $795-$6600, that is the range... gratuity is added to everything, $1.75 for a one minute phone call to a 310 area code. If you order room service, they charge a delivery fee, mandatory gratuity, and the items to begin with are insane, does $1000 lobster pasta sound good to you?
I have stayed in many of the finest hotels in the world, this was the worst value I have ever experienced by miles.

1. Staying at this hotel was like stepping back into a chic, mid-century era, with Jonathan Adler’s playful and whimsical vibe. The open fireplace off the lobby was fantastic especially during cooler evenings. Spacious well appointed spa and fitness area which were never crowded during our entire stay.
2. Our room was spacious with a relaxing outdoor hammock and seating area. The property itself is surrounded by packed sandy trails and cozy nooks for sitting.
3. Conveniently located about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown, Uptown Design District, and Tahquitz Canyon trail making it easy to explore the area.
4. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts at Norma’s, known for its NYC roots before it closed years ago. Be warned, though—the portions are *massive*, so order accordingly!
CONS
1. The bathroom’s hot water situation was frustrating. At one point, it took about 15 minutes for the sink hot faucet to get warm, and the shower was even worse. The water temperature would fluctuate midstream from warm to cool to warm again. We were about to lodge a complaint when another guest beat us to it at the front desk which shows that this is clearly a problem. The water situation improved but not 100%.
2. Our room was on the ground floor near the lobby and concierge area so we could hear quite a bit of noise. On multiple nights, there were bursts of loud laughter and conversations until around 10 pm that carried directly into our room. While we were grateful for the complimentary upgrade through Amex Platinum FHR, I wish we had been placed in a quieter room away from the lobby.

My wife and I went to the Palmer Palm Springs for a relaxing weekend getaway and we had a truly wonderful experience. Every single staff member provided excellent service. The valet who parked my car, the front desk staff, the restaurant service staff, and housekeeping were all very friendly and attentive. Whoever is in charge of customer service at the Palmer should teach classes to other hotels. The decor throughout the hotel has a delightful flare and is very unique and colorful. Plus, it is the best smelling hotel ever. There is a lovely scent throughout the building that I noticed and appreciated. The food and drinks were not only delicious, but the portions were extremely generous. For dessert at Norma's Restaurant, I recommend the Bananza dessert, a wonderful banana custard with chocolate crumbs. But be warned, it is HUGE!
The room itself was very comfortable. I really liked the decor, as it did not feel like I was in a standard hotel room. It felt more like I was visiting a good friend with really excellent taste. My only small critique is that the shower did not have a small shelf to place soap or shampoo bottles, so you have to place it on the floor. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job to keep the room clean throughout our visit.
Finally, I just wanted to give some specific "shout outs". David and Mason were super helpful valets. I drove my EV to the hotel. David and Mason took care of charging my EV on one of their Tesla destination chargers every time I returned to the hotel. Chris and Fred at the concierge desk gave my wife and I lots of great ideas and helpful information. And they did so with great smiles, humor, and warmth. And everyone at the front desk was so attentive and helpful throughout our stay.
I give the Palmer Palm Springs the highest of recommendations!

The review by TXMMc a few days ago really said it all. Flying home from Palm Springs as I write this. I have stayed at many hotels around the world at the $1,000 price point and the Parker was a major disappointment. After one night in the north building we asked to be moved into the south building where the bathrooms had been update. To say the bathroom in the original room needed updated is an understatement. It was downright unhealthy with black mold growing on the pvc pipes under the sink and moldy dust bunnies dropping from the fan when turned on. The pool situation was also unacceptable. The adult pool is dated and needs to be torn up along with all the overgrown landscaping around it. Only maybe 10 seats in the sun at any given point in time during the day. The other pool is newer, smallish and like a daycare filled with many children. Mr Parker speakeasy was the highlight.

Consistently poor service on a 3 night stay, management took zero responsibility and had a mildly accusatory tone when confronting me on checkout. I had already told front desk on 3 occasions including 1 by text that they sent out asking about how I would rate the stay. We ordered room service for a drink, we called an hour later as we hadn’t received it and they said they were busy with other customers and cancelled it with no apology. After seeing no server at the pool, someone arrived after 45 mins of us being there to give other guests something, I asked if there was service at the pool area and was curtly told to wait, someone else came 15 minutes later. The night we arrived we asked to see the menu at Norma’s, a server (who was great) gave us a menu, there were only about 4 tables seated in there, the host who came over 10 minutes later asked what we were doing, I said I was looking at the menu and she walked off, I heard her say “are they staying here” to the server, she ignored us for another 5 minutes walking past several times. In the end I asked her to come over again and she asked if we were guests, I said yes and she said “good as we have other people trying to get in here” …it was 8pm and not just whatsoever, we were seated outside between 2 tables that hadn’t been cleared that weren’t cleared throughout our meal. They seemed completely uninterested in the fact that we had raised issues. I’d like to add the bars staff and the valets were great. Would not stay again, this is shocking for a 5 star of this calibre. The GM made me feel even worse than I already did regarding how we had been treated by staff overall with his confrontational style in reception when I was checking out, we weren’t the only guests complaint on checkout either. They’re getting by on past reputation and design.

The Parker does not have a shuttle service. Rent a car if you want to see the surrounding areas. It is very easy to navigate and the roads are excellent. Use Uber or Lyft. I asked the bellman to call a taxi and it was a 20 minute wait. The bellman said no one around there used taxis. Used Uber on the way back and it was super quick.
I was there in July 2019 and the parking was included in the compulsory resort fee. So no, there’s no extra charge for parking. It’s valet too which is nice.
There are more places to choose from in the Palm Springs area.
