I just returned from a rather disappointing weekend at the Viceroy. The rooms were pretty fabulous and the staff at the front desk was very kind and helpful. However, the wait staff at the pool and the bar did a pretty fantastic job of making myself and my girlfriends feel unwelcome. We had trouble getting service and when we finally...

Dear Erin, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. Our guests' feedback helps us put into perspective what is and is not working at our resort. I am extremely disappointed in the service you received or didn't receive- specifically in regards to pool service which seemed to have ruined a next to perfect weekend (despite the valet...

I recently spent two nights at the Viceroy for an offsite business meeting. The good points included the cool vibe from the Hollywood Regency decor; nice grounds with firepits near the pool; terrific location within walking distance to downtown Palm Springs restaurants and shopping. The downsides of my stay included my room not being available when I checked in (they...

Our corporate travel agency booked us into this "boutique" hotel. Did you ever have a hotel room without a chair? How about no table? How about no drawers to put your clothes in? You thing I'm kidding, I'm not! I have traveled the world and never been as disappointed with my accommodations as i was here. How they get away...

In terms of service, cleanliness and overall 'good vibes', the Viceroy must be on of the best hotels Palm Springs has to offer. However, I have one major complaint with the hotel which would make me think very seriously before returning. That is the question of the disruption caused to hotel guests by weddings held there. On the day of...

Dear berfell, Thank you for taking time to share your feedback about your recent experience. As the Director of Sales, I oversee the Sales for both the Leisure and Group Guests (weddings) and would like to assure you they are equally important markets to us. I do apologize for the inconvenience of the events, we do know that they impact...

I think no hotel in the Palm Springs area has it all. But the Viceroy has a refreshing atmosphere and a nice location if you want to have easy access to the restaurants and shops of Palm Canyon road. The streets behind the hotel make for wonderful morning strolls or maybe a ride on a bike. Also, the pools are...

Overpriced for what you get. The room was very small. there was a refrigerator in the sleeping area. The blinds did not close property to ensure privacy. The shower was ridiculously small - a man would not be able to shower in it. The nicest part of the hotel was the outside.

We thought the hotel was a highlight of our stay in Palm Springs. Fabulous pool areas. Somehow they had no record of our reservation (good thing I carry a smart phone and the reservation paperwork); nevertheless, they accommodated us.

While we never stayed at the hotel, I wanted to write a review of their responsiveness. We needed to cancel our reservation and had difficulties trying to accomplish this online. However, once I reached Sean, the office manager, he immediately took care of the issue and made sure we would not be charged. Thanks Sean!

I stayed here for one night in January and I will never step foot into this hotel again. The shower water was dirty and has some disgusting sort of sediment in it. The hotel manager blamed this on the city's plumbing issues. The electricity went out for a good 20 minutes and the manager blamed this on the age of...

Dear trojanheart05, I do apologize for the lack of utilities you experienced while on property in January. While many find the age of the resort charming, it does occasionally have it's idiosyncrasies. Your experience is not the norm and do hope that you will give us another try. It is quite a charming and peaceful property in the heart of...

This is a really cool spot in Palm Springs. Service friendly, but firm. Instantly got a vibe of being back in northern italy. Good start! Nice pool areas - they have three. Excellent service all the way, from check-in to pool waiters. Extra plus for the friendly service upon arrival - we were given a complimentary glass of champagne. Gotta...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A jewel box nestled in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, the historic Avalon Hotel and Bungalows Palm Springs rests at the foot of the rugged San Jacinto Mountains on four acres of fragrant, beautifully manicured gardens. Its Spanish architecture punctuated by a series of secluded, private bungalows, calls forth the iconic, storied Golden Age of Palm Springs, exuberantly updated with Hollywood Regency interiors by renowned designer Kelly Wearstler. At Avalon every experience has been hand-curated by a team of collaborators and bona fide hotel aficionados. You might say it's a calling. A penchant for wanderlust. A mind for singular retreats and unrepeatable vibes. We hold an affinity for one-offs, anomalies and the irrefutable allure of a personal touch. Our trademarks are small batched. Think of us as your own private hideaway. All you have to do is stay. ... more   less
