Detailed Reviews
We stayed here two nights in May this year for the first time. We have family living in Auburn and good friends in El Dorado Hills so the location is perfectly centralized for us. Including access to all the wonderful local wineries. We stayed in the Grasslands suite and had a beautiful view of the untouched meadow hills. The birds, deer and views of the small vineyard all felt like a sign of welcome as we sat on the lanai sipping our wine. The bed was so comfortable. We slept like logs as the soft sheets and pillows enveloped us. The en-suite bathroom had everything one would need. Including any extras one might have forgotten at home. Elke is such a delightful person and made sure we were pampered from the delicious breakfasts to the complimentary snacks. We travel a lot and frequently prefer to stay at BnBs. Enchanted April Inn was one of the better ones. It won’t be too long before we are planning to return!

We came to Pilot Hill to visit my son and stayed at the Enchanted April Inn for 4 nights. I could have stayed much longer! What a wonderful experience! Elke is a fantastic host. Her breakfasts are incredibly delicious. Everything from the muffins to the pumpkin pancakes are homemade. Each morning held new surprises for us with her culinary expertise! Speaking of surprises, upon returning to our room each night, we were greeted by more treats hanging on our door. Her homemade cookies are to die for!
The beds are so comfortable with linens like I’ve never experienced before. Seriously- the sheets were amazing!
Elke’s thoughtfulness is apparent throughout her entire Inn. Her words of inspiration are found everywhere.
The property is stunning. There are horses grazing in their paddocks and the wild turkeys roam. One day we came upon a gazebo with a rock bath for our feet. I loved how private it was. She has everything you need- just fill with water, add the sanitizer and enjoy the peace and beauty that surrounds.
This is a special place on so many levels. Stay here and let your cares melt away!
Thank you Elke! We will most definitely return!

We were in the area for a memorial service and chose the Enchanted April Inn hoping it would be peaceful and relaxing so we could "regroup". We were not disappointed. The home and grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The surrounding area is full of interesting California history. Elke is a kind and friendly hostess and her breakfasts were delicious and unique. Her cute dog, Rowdy, happily greeted us every morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days at the Inn and definitely plan on returning in the not-so-distant future!

Me and my wife stayed her for our anniversary. Beautiful property, very relaxing. We enjoyed watching a movie on the patio by the pool before turning it in for the night. If your looking for a relaxing, quiet experience then this is your place to stay. Close to auburn, 30 min to red hawk casino the location is perfect. And the breakfast, it was awesome. Hope you all enjoy your stay as much as we did.

We recently spent an early spring weekend here- though both of us couples lived less than an hour away, we found this inn to be very comfortable and relaxing. The furnishings are lovely, and there is obvious attention to detail, from the comfortable chairs and luxurious linens, to the table settings. Elke was an attentive innkeeper, conversive and helpful without being obtrusive. We stayed here as a jumping off point to do some local wine tasting. The surrounding area is some of the most beautiful in the Sierra foothills, beautiful rolling hills a, horse farms, and small towns. Oh, and the place is spotless!

My husband and I took a 3 day mini getaway from Sacramento up to the foothills. We stayed at this wonderful B&B that we can't say enough about. Elke is the quintessential innkeeper! Very accommodating but not in your face. The place is gorgeous now and will be unbelievable in summer when trees are leafed out and it is BBQ season. From the scrumptious breakfasts to afternoon tea by the fireplace, we found it all very charming and lovely. It is a romantic setting with lots to see for the nature lovers - dozens of bird species, horses, and llamas on the adjacent properties. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.

+1
We enjoyed our stay at the pristine Enchanted April Inn. Elke provides generous portions for breakfast, advised us of places to go for dinner in the area, & was very nice. We enjoyed learning her family’s history and legacy, & about her late buddy, “Rowdy.” We thought this might be in the middle of nowhere since we’d never been to this area of CA, but there are several country homes in the area, & we’ll definitely return to take advantage of the river rafting next summer. The wildlife & farm animals were amazing to encounter. We also enjoyed the Reflexology foot pool. We slept very comfortably, & Elke kept the Inn cool. Elke is a creative and unique person who has really contributed much to her community, such as designing a tourism map for the county, and giving notes of encouragement laid all throughout the Inn for guests. We really loved the departing gift she gave us as well. The only thing I’d change is to have more snacks on arrival because we’d come from a ways away. If you’ve never been to a BnB before, this would be a great start!

We stayed here 2 nights at the end of July - peak temperatures of 98ºF. But we were comfortable our entire stay at the Enchanted April Inn.
When we arrived, Elke very kindly altered a special accommodation on our existing reservation immediately, with true professionality. She was so kind.
Elke offered a host of suggestions (and cute homemade pamphlets!) for food, hiking, local hotspots. She offered us a refreshing rose spray for the heat and even had a set of assorted hats (20+) we could borrow for the sun.
We woke every morning to freshly made breakfast - eggs, fruit, sausage, coffee - all gluten free at our request (I have celiac disease). We went on hikes in the morning (trails less than 1 mile away), out to various restaurants from Sizzlers to an adorable sushi bar, and even drove around neighboring towns Cool and Yolo (lol). We came home every night to a bag of fresh cookies hanging on our door (thank you Elke!).
The Inn is gated and feels very private and secluded. There are beautiful horses, cows, llama, rabbits to look at on your drive in. We had a private balcony and bathroom in our room (Grasslands), both of which were tastefully decorated and absolutely sparkled. The shower was amazing, beautiful stone tile and moldings. There were even designated towels for my makeup!
On our way out, Elke gave us some adorable home-made parting gifts, mini potholders and a compact mirror! Elke was incredibly kind and professional our entire stay. We will definitely be back.

We stayed 2 nights at the beautiful Enchanted April Inn. It was an experience we will never forget. The wonderful hospitality of Elke is so admirable. What a great ministry to make people relax and happy in the beautiful grounds, outdoor areas of B&B home. I recommend it to any one who needs to have peace and relaxation from busy life and work! The rooms are nicely decorated and there are many "Food for Thought" around that makes it more relaxing and to commune with the Almighty. The beauty of the place helps me commune with God and a great time to introspect of what really matters in this world.

I would give Enchanted April 10 stars if I could. My husband and I travel extensively and I can safely say that this B & B is probably one of the best. The Inn is beautifully decorated and each room is warm and welcoming. The owner has put much thought and detail into every aspect of a guest stay. The rooms include every possible amenity you could need, down to the first aid kit in the closet! The perks and give away treats are too numerous to list here, including snacks within your reach day or night. I cannot say enough good things about Enchanted April as it is perfect in every aspect. The sheets on the bed are a thread count like nothing you have ever experienced before - like sleeping on a cloud. This quiet location provides one of the best nights sleep ever! The bathroom was large and luxurious with amazing towels and stocked with personal grooming items you may have left at home. The yard and patio areas are wonderful for lounging outdoors when the weather permits. The indoor seating areas are comfortable and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. My words here cannot truly convey just how special this place is ! Stop looking and go here not only for a night of rest but to give yourself a treat of self nurturing luxury. It will refresh and restore you :-) Please note that rooms are on the second floor so you will have to walk up a flight of stairs. Also, due to this rural spot you will have to drive 10 minutes to the nearest small town for food or other services. The larger town of Auburn is about 20 minutes away and they have some very nice restaurants for dinner options.
