The Bella Vista exceeded my expectations in every way! It is private and remote, yet minutes from town. Our suite was absolutely beautiful! It was spacious, impeccably clean, elegant, and handsomely appointed. There were sweeping views from every window. The freshly prepared hot breakfasts were delicious and lovely! We had a magical 3-day getaway, that we will definitely repeat in the future!

Our family had such an enjoyable time staying at the Bella Vista B & B. We stayed in the Monte Vista Suite which is 2 bedroom 2 baths 2 living rooms & a kitchenette. The room has been redone in a relaxing stylish beach theme.
Very Beautiful. There were Keurig machines with complimentary coffee, tea & hot cocoa.
2 TVs with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, Roku Channel. They provided extra towels for the pool.
We enjoyed the Outdoor jacuzzi & pool with water fall & water slide. I believe it is a salt water pool, which is much healthier than chlorine.
It felt like being on a beach overlooking the mountains & river-such a beautiful view!
Kathleen & Bob were very hospitable & were available to answer any questions by phone or text.
Each morning they brought a homemade hot breakfast to our room-both were delicious! Breakfast included: Sausage, mini egg frittatas, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, juice, croissants, scones...etc.
I didn’t get pictures of the food unfortunately because it was so yummy that we ate it before I had a chance. 😉
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely come back again!

We stayed at the Bella Vista for 2 nights in May, for a much needed getaway. It truly exceeded our expectations! The expansive view across the valley was so peaceful, and the quiet surroundings made for a great night's sleep. It's a very well kept inn, and the pool and spa area, with the natural rock formations, really added to the "mountain top" feel, very relaxing! The owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, and we felt pampered. The main house was closed, due to the current county health restrictions, but we had our own private entrance, and a basket full of breakfast treats to enjoy in the privacy of our own suite. We sat out on the balcony in the mornings, with our coffee, muffins, and fruit, enjoying the view, and felt truly blessed. Great communication with the owners, you can tell they really care about their guest's comfort. Thank you Kathleen and Bob, we can't wait to come back!

We had a wonderful night’s stay at Bella Vista B&B. We were staying close to family, and the Bella Vista was the perfect choice.
Our room was tastefully decorated, bed was not too soft and not too firm.—it was just right. The weather outside was cold and nonstop pouring rain, but when we got into our room it was cozy and well kept, just what we needed to relax. The room even had nice mini kitchenette with kitchen, coffee maker and microwave, and an electric fireplace that kept us warm.
The next morning, we enjoyed a tasty breakfast prepared by our host, then went outside to beautiful clear skies. With the sun shining, we checked out the property. Out back there is “the beach”, a backyard/large patio area, where we were treated to a panoramic scene of nature’s beauty. No doubt this is where the Bella Vista gets its name.
In addition to the view, we were pleasantly surprised to find, instead of grass or turf, the backyard is covered in sand from end to end! Its enough sand to put you into beach mode, for little ones to play, and family time. On one side of the beach is a really nice looking lagoon pool for keeping cool. Most definitely this is the place to take in the lush view of nature.
We went during the cold weather, but definitely would come here again, rain or shine!

Bella Vista provided an excellent base for exploring Gold Country.
The hospitable hosts take Covid precautions seriously including cleanliness, social distancing, and breakfast left outside your room.
The views are fabulous.
The bedrooms are great, being very well furbished and furnished.
Highly recommended; we would love to return.

I must admit that I saw the website for Bella Vista years ago and was thrilled, but then terribly disappointed that we could only get a room and not the whole house. My husband needed a vacation and showed me the website and I recognized it right away, but didn't examine all the details.

I was happily surprised to discover that it was even BETTER than the photos! Amazing view, gorgeous grounds, delightful pool, with a waterfall, slide and hot tub, built to look like natural rock, over-the-top luxurious, spacious, gorgeous room with the same spectacular view overlooking the valley where gold was discovered in California, with the American River winding its way through it.

We also found fabulous ripe blackberries bordering the lawns, which were also visited by deer and a colorful peacock. It was great fun to explore. Breakfast was great and our hostess couldn't have been kinder or more generous.

We did happen to hit a heat wave with record-breaking high temperatures, but our room was comfortably cool; we usually had the pool all to ourselves and there were ample places to sit in the shade and the water was delightful, although the pool, itself, was not enormous, not big enough for serious laps, but one could swim around in circles comfortably.

The historic State Park boasting a replica of Sutter's Mill and the actual site where gold was discovered is just a few minutes down the road, by car. Placerville is a bit further away, but a delightful little town with some great restaurants.

Even with all the covid precautions and social distancing, the hospitality was great! The stuffed French toast were delicious. They were extra careful to keep all other guests away from each other with careful instructions to get to and from the rooms and set times for the pool and jacuzzi. Highly recommended!!

Everything about the Bella Vista B&B is beautiful and very well maintained. We stayed for 2 nights in a suite of rooms called "The Buena Vista Suite" which like the living room and dining room has a Victorian theme. The furnishings were well appointed and functional. Breakfast was healthy, filling, delicious. No complaints except possibly the very low toilet (I'm over 6 ft). Hostess very gracious, informative, and attentive. We have great memories to cherish from our stay at the Bella Vista. We would definitely return when our adventures take us back to the gold country.

There are not enough words to describe this standing place. What a beauty! I am taking my hat off and kneel in front of amazing hosts who made this Bed & Breakfast. My husband and I felt that we were in 18th century Venice mention. What a beauty! And what a delicious breakfast!!! Seating in the small cute balcony watching birds, beautiful landscaping, a real peacock (believe it or not) and having amazing quiche and other delicious things - what a treat! Especially admiration for the pool and a hot tub made from stones. Thank you Kathleen for preparing it for us! Unforgettable experience! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

The Bella Vista is an absolutely amazing bed and breakfast located in the heart of gold country. We booked every room for a wedding that we were attending and couldn’t have picked a better base camp.

Each room was unique and had tons of space. The photos don’t don’t them justice.

The pool area was great for us to hang out together, as well as spend some time in the evening to unwind in the hot tubs. Also, the side area is another great area to hang out and have a drink or play games.

Also, not enough can be said about Kathleen and her crew. They did a perfect job of handling good allergies and preferences and couldn’t have been better to work with.

We would love to come back, and hated to leave.
