For longer stays in the LA area (and for those with a car) this Residence Inn location can’t be beat. It intersects nearly everything from Disneyland to many piers to Santa Barbara!!! The hotel is nearly perfect with comfortable rooms and amenities. Nearly. Where does it fall short? Housekeeping. The “apartment” aspects of the room were not clean. Neither the kitchen nor certain aspects of the bedroom were not cleaned from the previous guest. It seemed clear that the housekeeper was not familiar with how to clean appliances (as they were filthy inside/out) and all of the pulls on the cabinets had some sticky stuff all over them, which I had to clean. It was gross and a dirty “apartment” kitchen. Rather than cite further negative examples and post pics, I’d prefer to compliment the professional Front Desk team, led by Simone and the lady who works overnight (sorry - don’t know name), who responded appropriately, empathetically, and seemed genuinely sorry for the experience. Far from many reviewers who post about apathy on the part of hotel staff, this was the total opposite. This property has it all and If aggressive steps are taken to ramp up Housekeeping, it will be a home run winner!!!

Residence Inn is a predictable brand. As with other RI’s you receive a breakfast and evening reception (during the week). We stayed in a king studio with a kitchenette (no oven). The full size fridge is convenient for holding all the necessities, including an ice maker. I have stayed at this hotel several times because of the predictable amenities and hospitality. The area requires a car, so the full 5 stars is not given due to location and the $15 per night parking fee.

Stayed in a 1-bdrm suite for two nights, 2 adults. Space layout was fair, but the bathroom could only be accessed directly through the bedroom, waking up the occupant. The person sleeping on the living room sofa bed had it rough; mattress was so thin one could feel the coils and it was soiled. We had to take the cushions from the sofa and lay on top of the bed in order to sleep comfortably. Wish we had brought a blow up mattress to put on top of that double pull- out sofa bed. The sofa itself smelled pretty bad; when we sat on it while watching tv, we could smell previous guests! It had a lot of stains on it, as did the wall right behind the sofa. Sofa bed sheets and blanket had holes in them and were also stained. There were two TVs, though. Silverware was sparse - not enough settings for two people for two nights, so we were always washing them. A/C was excellent on a hot day. Bedroom King bed was very comfortable and a cell phone hub was right next to the bed. Another hub was in the living room.. Complementary breakfast was provided for ALL guests and on both mornings was quite substantial with eggs, bacon or sausage, breads, yogurt, fruit and beverage. On arrival, be prepared to take all the dishes out of the dishwasher, to set up the place for yourself. Also we had to make up the sofa bed ourselves. Ice was provided at the front desk; the refrigerator/freezer was spacious and worked well. Our suite backed up next to the 405 freeway, The other option is the parking lot, with people coming and going, so bring ear plugs!

I’ve been staying at Bonvoy hotels for travel and specifically at the Residence Inn, but I am losing faith in the brand. Let me start that I suffer from migraines triggered by perfumes and scents. Finding a hotel that doesn’t pump scent through the lobby and hallways is very difficult. In the past, this hotel has worked for me during trips to Los Angeles. This occasion proved different. Our check in was pleasant. Rose was very nice and helped us find a room away from any potential smoking areas. But the lobby was fully scented, so I couldn’t go down for the free breakfast. It was really strong and ended up permeating the whole hotel. Most importantly, this was the first Residence Inn I’ve had trouble with scented bed sheets. We asked the manger to wash the basic bed sheets in unscented soap for us to which he replied they could only run them through water for us. When we returned to the room, they smelled exactly the same. Not sure if they really did it or forgot about us. Since we had reserved five nights, my husband had to wash the sheets himself, using our own unscented soap and quarters, just so I could sleep. So for any of you with allergies from scents, please note the Residence Inn brand may have perfumed lobbies and scented sheets.

I arrived to an awful stench in my room, which led me to the garbage can full of dirty diapers under the kitchen sink. Once I settled in, I went to watch the Grammys on CBS only to find out the channel did not work due to poor connection. The cherry on top was the hotel lost power early the next morning so the free hot breakfast that led me to this hotel was a cold one.

Our family arrived late Thursday evening and the two desk clerks greeted us wonderfully and had us on our way to the rooms in no time. Breakfast was impressive with a wide selection, (the toasted croissants were my fav). During our three night stay the staff was polite and did not hesitate to assist us. My daughter lost one of her earing and the room maide was kind enough to find it. The hotel is close to many restaurants & the beach is only a couple of miles away. I really can't say enough about how nice the staff was and how welcome we felt. thank you!

Me, my wife, and our family friend came to LA to go to a Harry Styles concert on November 5th. When we checked in the receptionist was nice but somewhat passive and didn’t seem like she wanted to be a receptionist at all. Nobody’s dream job is to be behind that desk, but at least portray it like you enjoy your job just for the guests sake.
When we got to our room (room 104) it didn’t have that much lighting, the carpet had spots that were torn up and worn down, the tile near the entryway looked dirty and scuffed up like people had just recently renovated the room but for the worse and forgot to clean up after the renovation process, and the walls had holes and dents in them throughout the room. The bathroom’s tissue box looked like it had dried residue on it, the bathrooms sliding closet door looked like it was broke and very quickly fixed without refinishing it, the toilet handle was broken but still useable, the headboard had holes in it as well, and the door to the bedroom and the bathroom wouldn’t open at the same time as they’d run into each other.
When we arrived the first night we had to plug back in the TV modem so the TV would work and when we went to bed the first night we had three mosquitos flying around the bedroom that we had to find and kill so they would stop landing on our faces. At about 3:00am the TV randomly turned on and started playing at full volume which was the cherry on top! Thankfully the continental breakfast that the hotel offered was very good, but that’s it.
After having stayed with Marriott multiple times in the past and loved it, this stay was very disappointing and very unprofessional on Marriott’s end. I’ll still continue to stay at Marriott’s as these are some of the best hotels in my opinion, but will not be coming back to the Marriott Residence Inn Los Angeles Redondo Beach location. Probably haunted, overpriced for the quality of room you get, unclean, and gave off more of a Bates Motel type feeling than anything.

The hotel was fairly new. Our room was clean and the breakfast was hot, varied and better than average. The coffee was good. Staff was polite, helpful and efficient - they allowed us to check in a little early and check out an hour late . The area is a little sketch but the hotel is one of three hotels side by side. All are well maintained newer properties with a high wall around the compound so it felt secure. There was some freeway noise but that didn't bother us. Overall a good value and would stay here again and recommend.

This hotel did a good job with hiding its renovations. The only visible work was the padded elevators but audibly we could hear the construction off and on when we were in our room during the day. They did not have any one bedrooms suites available due to the renovations so adjoining rooms were offered. Nice to have two bathrooms and bigger rooms.

The gym equipment could use an upgrade as the barbell set was incomplete and at least one of the treadmill displays was on the fritz.

They had a new filtered water dispenser in both the gym and the lobby. Great option to reduce reliance on bottled water.

Breakfast was as expected with the standard make your own waffles, powdered eggs, sausage and seasoned potatoes for the hot offerings. Was surprised to see cold brewed coffee which was a lot better than their hot coffee!

Parking is now $20 a night so it’s an annoyance markup.

The general manager does not care for black people and made my life a living hell while staying there with my family!! They told us that we should be thankful for them allowing us to stay here during COVID-19. After I paid my money to stay there the place is not up to code the hallways are filled with dirt and trash because housekeeping doesn’t come daily they leave it up to the guests to take out their own trash and towels and sheets. Save yourself some time and anguish and book with the other hotels on the lot.

Hi Gary, I am currently staying at the hotel and there is a free shuttle week days from 7-11a (John is the driver and fabulous) and 4-9p (Michael is the driver and great as well). The shuttle goes three miles to and from (not Lax) and goes to hermosa beach and Manhattan beach. Not sure if the other person that said there was not was confused with another residence inn within the local area. I can guarantee you there is a shuttle and they are very helpful and John has been in this area most of his life so can give you great ideas of where to go. If you are looking to go to Venice, Santa Monica you can take the metro to Santa Monica and Venice I would uber and it’s about 18.00. Hope this helps and travel well.
