Detailed Reviews
We stayed at mid-level Marriott properties during our time at some sports camps in the Rocklin/Roseville areas and found this hotel to fit our needs well.
So we have good comparisons and also are keeping in mind our stay was during the re-opening from the pandemic and labor and supplies could be in short supply.
First a few areas for improvement:
) The darn door had to have a perfect level of swing to close and actually lock. It was quirky.
) In a few areas, I think the hotel is just doing the minimum to check the box and say it has the amenity. For example, the compute in the lobby does not work (it is for show) and the desk person could not operate it. And they claim to have laundry but this is one small capacity, residential, very dated washer and dryer that was filled for over 3 days with the same person's laundry. When we finally go to use it, the clothes did not wash well or completely dry with a full cycle (hint, your dryer vent hose does 203 needless loops, cut it and shorten it). Also, they are inconsistent on the coffee, some days getting it right; other days getting it very wrong.
) It was hard for us and other patrons to get TP, towels, pool towels, trash service, soap and other minor items you would think are in ample supply.
) The pool is very small and the hot tub has been removed or filled in. But it was also empty much of the day so that was nice.
) The screens on the treadmills did not work nor can you operate the tv in the workout area.
Some positives:
) Very good location. Upscale retail is nearby. Easy to reach. Safe. No triple checking the car is locked. None of the blue tarp cities or post-apocalyptic scenes of haggard people pushing shopping carts.
) Do get food out in the AM and it varies by day and staff (better on weekends).
) A good value. You won't be wrapped in luxury, but the rooms are large, finishes are modern, and everything worked (more or less).
) This was actually ideal for our purposes (basketball camps) as you could eat quickly in the AM and the facility was a few minutes away. We'd stay here again.

Awesome hotel the beds are so comfortable. The staff was friendly and the little snack shop had really good stuff like popcorn wich we popped in our room that had a microwave. The wallpaper in our closet was wrinkled. The rooms had a desk a roll out couch two closets.

I gave it 4, but I'm not saying it's a 4-star hotel. The rating is for this level of hotel.
Everything was great except:
The mattress needs to be replaced. You lie down, and sink in, rolling to the middle.
There is no nightstand or room for one, on one side of the bed.
No USB ports anywhere.
The exercise room (aptly named, because this is not a gym) had dumbbells, an elliptical, and 2 treadmills. There were no towels, and there was a water cooler, but no cups. The room was also pretty warm.
But hey, free bottled water when we checked in, and free breakfast the next morning - I'm not complaining.

I have stayed there before and usually stay at a Marriott product when traveling, but we are moving on from this place. The housekeeping was managed poorly, the rooms were barely cleaned (no new towels), our rooms weren't available until 9:30 pm and 10:15 pm for check in, and the front desk people during the daytime were rude and unhelpful. In short, the management ran it like a cheap motel instead of a Marriott where you expect a bit of hospitality, housekeeping, and a bit of service during your stay. On a more positive note, the rooms were nice (but a bit 'worn') and the young woman running the front desk on the night of the 19th was awesome. It is clear the management is running this as cheaply as possible at the expense of the guest and the at a disregard for the Marriott brand.

+1
We came here after the memorial weekend. It was a quick stop before we embark on another long drive. The person who checked us in was not friendly at all. She is not rude but also not very welcoming either. She even sounded matter of factly as she asked my husband why we were in town.
The room was spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. My husband wanted a king but was given a queen instead. We were too tired, I did not even bother to call to switch rooms. Also it wasn’t very clean, the bathroom especially. It has mold and some rust on the shower doors—and the bed sheets are stained with some blue dye and is has holes on it—it made me feel like I was in a cheap motel. Worse is that I did not even see it until it was already very late and my kids are already asleep.
We’ve been to other Marriott’s and this one is a dump. The only good thing is the overnight front desk (young male in blue uniform) who is very kind & friendly. If you must checkin here, check the sheets. However, there are other places in the area & for what my husband paid for the room, I expected better.

This is supposed to be a Marriott hotel, but the expected hospitality was not delivered at this property.
Breakfast was an insult, it was a tiny muffin and a box of frosted flakes. No yogurt, no milk was provided. It was the worst breakfast we have ever encountered in our travels. My wife said the coffee was terrible.
Maid service is not available unless you complain to the front desk, the pool was closed due to Covid.
The TV did not work properly, as our attempt to watch Homeland on Showtime was met by the screen freezing up with the spinning circle of death, probably due to a bad internet connection.
Overall, the worst hotel stay we have ever experienced in our many years of traveling around the world.

So I had to make a quick reservation and was unsure if I wanted to stay at this hotel or an IHG hotel. I usually stay at an IHG hotel, but know that Marriott is usually a better brand. So I get there and get to my room and the dark brown couch has so many stains that it looks like a casting couch that has not been cleaned since the 80's. I don't really like changing rooms so I asked for sheet to cover, which I recevied from the front desk. EW. But all was not lost.
Pro's: Extremely friendly staff and a good breakfast bar. The lady that ran the bar during the week was incredibly nice and corteous and the ladies that ran it on the weekend were very nice as well. Good location with a Chilis in the parking lot and a bunch of stuff close by.
Con's - Rooms need to be updated. Some light mold in the bathroom, a very loud air conditioner/heater and that disgusting couch.
Not the end of the world. Would stay there again due to the staff but will definitely change my room next time.

We stay here whenever we visit family in the area. They are one of the few that still don't charge for parking, offer a nice breakfast, and an indoor pool for those who want that (better than burning outside in the hot Valley sun). It was 108 degrees when we last stayed and thank goodness our room was nice and cool, love the old-school rumbling air conditioners under the window. The lady who checked us in was nice and found me a top floor room as requested. The elevators and hallways were warm but in such a heatwave that is probably typical. There is a Chili's restaurant next door and a Chevron gas station, very convenient. We left early in the morning to beat the heat so didn't get breakfast in the lobby but they were setting up as we were checking out and it looked good. Highly recommend this place!

Been here a few times and it's a great place. However this last time 4/28/23, their elevators are a little scary. I think they need to have someone look at the elevators, you can feel them slipping a bit on the cable, plus take a LONG time even with no traffic to load. Bounce around too much, you can actually feel the cables buckle. They need to have their elevators inspected. Wife and I weren't the only guests a little freaked about a simple few room elevator ride.

The hotel seemed to be clean enough and I thought I had done a good job checking around the mattress and the hard surfaces in the suite. The couch was very stained but I was not planning to use it. When I woke up and pulled the covers back, there was a bed bug crawling around. I was so stressed until I did not take a picture but killed the thing and checked my stuff as best as I could. I reported the bugs to the desk manager and she said her manager would be on site and she would report it. Lucky this is the first time I have had this horrible experience. Disgusting.
