a cost saving measure. i would recommend this place.
Inspire of the less than stellar breakfast I would stay here again.
Note to self- there is parking Charge if you drive
1) Supposedly due to COVID-19 there was no room cleaning, swimming pool or breakfast.
2) Our room was dirty. The microwave had a crusted substance covering the handle and keypad. The silverware had dried, stuck on food.
3) The smoke detector was hanging by wires from the ceiling.
4) The shower head leaked and sprayed water from the back of the shower head into the ceiling and bathroom.
5) There was no bath mat so the shower tub was EXTREMELY slippery.
6) On the morning of 6/30/20 I went to the front desk and requested: towels, bath mat, toilet paper and coffee creamer. I was told they would be delivered to our room. They never were.
7) Due to point 6 I went to the front desk and requested the above items. We were given all but the bath mat. I almost fell in the shower multiple times.
8) Upon returning from the trip I received an email with a "receipt" showing I was charged $10.00 per day for parking. The website clearly states the parking is complimentary. We had considered staying at the Marriott next door. It was the same price as the Hilton, but they charged $10.00 per day for parking. We chose Hilton because they state parking is complimentary. I confirmed this online and via phone, yet I was charged for parking.
9) The rooms are loud. You can hear people in other rooms. Outside sounds are very loud. The air-conditioning units are not under a window like most hotels. They are in a locked closet. They are loud and the one in the room next to ours vibrated the bed.
They only had one person working housekeeping for the entire hotel so it took them a day to get to cleaning the kitchen, never fix the sink, never cleaned the room and when we went to check in a third room I rented for Saturday it took nearly 3 hours because they had no rooms available that were clean.
Oh and if your car gets broken into like one of the family members in our group just know they have no security cameras anywhere at the hotel so you’re paying $10 a night parking fee for nothing.
The pool is closed which was awesome since the temperature was 97°. We found homeless people sleeping behind the cars.
I get back in the Afternoon and the light by the room door was working, the coffee pot had been replaced but the bathroom light was still flickering and now I had coffee stains on the floor. That wasn't me, since I could not make coffee.
Mask rule is non existent here. Many of the staff do not wear masks and when I approach, it takes them a few moments to remember they have a mask around their neck or they do not try to put it in place at all.
I will never stay at this Homewood suites again. And it makes me question how Hilton guarantees the cleanliness and/or safety of the people that stay there.
The bathroom was dirty ... I mean there was a number two in the bowl and under the toilet seat!
My good wife insisted on not making a fuss so cleaned EVERYTHING with sanitizers that she brings every time we venture out on hotel stays.
We didn't stay the night and left after a few hours. The desk manager (male) was more concerned that we would want a refund than to accept that we just wanted to leave. I didn't ask for a refund!...
We had to come down and buy water before she remembered to give us some as an Hhomors member in our 100 degree room. Windows were not locked (fourth floor) and one didn’t open.
Light in the micro hood didn’t work.
Fold away couch mattress was awful.
They did have USB ports in the lamps. The digital key worked great.
No alcohol at the on-site store and no restaurant.
You have to go through the master to get to the bathroom.
Trash collection at 7:45 am Saturday very loud. Multiple bins. Otherwise minimal sound from the halls but the layout of the hotel is awkward and very long.
We were charged a $10/ night parking fee. Even though we didn’t register a car. We had one so I didn’t mind it but seemed odd.
Remember this was at the turning point in the corona virus so times are not normal.
It rained so we didn’t use the pool or sport court.
They start cleaning up breakfast 30 minutes before it’s scheduled to end so be aware. I was able to toast a bagel at 9:45 but all the hot food was gone.
Be safe.
