Love this place! Friendly manager, clean rooms - with a bit of personality, comfortable beds, all the TV channels you need, a good restaurant just across the street, a very short drive to Snow Valley, and reasonably priced. I'm pretty sure they have wifi too, but I didn't use it - so check first if that's important to you. The only thing I didn't like is the lack of blackout curtains - again, another motel on the mountain with white blinds that block almost zero light. I just don't get that (and neither does the manager, he's been lobbying the owner for blackout curtains). As one of only 2 hotels near Snow Valley, they do fill up on weekends during ski season - so be smart, make a reservation. Oh - and they don't have a website, or email - you actually have to call :-(.

Not the most modern of hotels but, for the price, a very nice place to stay.
Conveniently located just off the 18 (between Big Bear Lake and Arrowhead Lake).
Very friendly.
Will definitely stay again.

For this trip, I stayed on the second floor. The room was spacious but felt a bit empty, though I wouldn't consider this an issue. I'm not sure about the other rooms, but the walls were decorated with murals and other items in a Charlotte's Web theme. It was quirky, but charming. The TV worked fine as did the shower, which has a higher shower head than most (great for taller people). There was no central heating or a wall heater, so a smaller tower heater is provided - I did not use it, but am sure it is useful during the really cold nights.

A few concerns:
-The carpeted floor was somewhat dirty, not only visually, but noticeably after walking on it for a very short time either in socks or barefooted.

-The bed, while pretty comfortable, was quite creaky with even the most subtle of motions. Not a huge deal, but notable.

-Along the same lines, the walls seem very thin there, as even quiet conversations could be heard

-The wi-fi connection was very poor, constant disconnections. When a connection was established, it was very slow (2G). I did not speak to the front desk about it, as I was mostly hiking and exploring the area, but perhaps a reboot or revamp would help.

-No hand soap provided - 2 body wash and 1 each shampoo/conditioner. I'd rather have hand soap and bring my own for the rest, but perhaps the extra body wash is meant for hand soap.

-While I don't mind that there were no curtains, the horizontal blinds couldn't be opened. You could raise and lower the entire curtain, but couldn't open the space between individual blinds.

Despite the concerns above, I did enjoy my time at the Deep Creek Motel. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The rustic cabin style is pleasant and the area is quiet, near some hiking areas in Running Springs.

BONUS: mini-review of Neo's Deep Creek Drive-In: The Mexican food is very bland. We tried taco/enchilada/chili relleno and taquitos. The taco and taquito used dry non-seasoned meat. Taquitos were served with only sour cream/gaucamole - frozen taquitos at store taste better (but are filled with harmful ingredients). The enchilada was ok at best, not special, but not bad. The chili relleno was decent but was a bit burned and covered in a chewy substance that was peeled off. The only really tasty item was chips and salsa, both seem to be homemade and had great flavor. Being from southern California, this was a major disappointment. Perhaps this place is meant for an older crowd or those not seeking a more authentic Mexican food experience? I was even told by management that Neo's has better Mexican food than Toto's. I can't say, but I don't intend to find out and would not dine here again.

Nice clerk. Comfy bed. Modern room for money. Near big bear. bear in mind the price varies by month. In June it was $100. In winter it’s $250. You can hear noise thru the door of adjoining room. Breakfast choice is limited. There’s a restaurant across the street.

I was prevented by snow from reaching big bear. Had to turn back. Booked a room with booking. Com at deep crep creek motel. The clerk she was kind respectful and professional. I checked in i am a woman and was alone. I was watching a tv show with cats and their kittens all night. I kept hearing someone at the door and window i peeked there was some dark skinned man i saw walk away after i heard and got up. In the am i did not ask for a wake up knock. A man came and knocked on my door at ten am i was already set to go waiting for my ride. I took my things out to be ready for the driver to laod and as i returned to the room for my suitcase this black guy was out there snooping in jy possessions. He says “ is that a box for cats i dont like cats.i dont like cats at my hotel. “ i go “no and id appreciate it of your stop snooping in my property and personal belongings. “ he started to argue i said leave me alone. The easiest thing in the world to do is leave a person alone. I told him i said i paid for a room not to be harassed when i am checking out. He wants to argue says check iut give me my key after accusing me of having a cat. I said its not even 11 am leave me alone. Now i realize he was snooping on me last night while i was in the room and he heard kittens meowing and cats tgat were on the tv and he was snooping in my things in the morning and disrespecting me and totally creepy and rude and unethical unprofessional. And i told him im gonna wrote a bad review he said GO AHEAD. I SAID NO WONDER WHY YOUR HOTEL IS EMPTY. YOURE A PERVERTED DISRESPECTFUL CREEP. THERS NO REASON FOR YIU TO BE TALKING TO ME I KEPT TELLING HIM. AND HE WOULD NOT STOP PICKING FIGHTS WITH MW AS I WAS CHECKING OUT. THE ROOM.? Nice towels. Good smelling soap. Nasty poorly rendered floral paintings all over room 109 that looked as if a tweaker who had been up for a week found some art supplies and went off on the walls in the room glitter ans scribbles on them in paint tacky. And Gaudy the birds were rendered sell and some flowers you could identify hollyhocks and sunflowers. But no use of a light source no perspective on the landscaping attempt things places in the wrong area and over all bad composition. This coming from myself a aloha beta gamma consecutive 2.5 year 4.0 GPA COLLEGE ART MAJOR i even ckeaned the room to be respectful a s was totally mistreated when i was trying tonleave and for no reason cuz this perv kept saying I DONT LOKE CATS AT MY HOTEL OVER AND OVER. THATS HOW I KNEW HE WAS THE ONE LISTENING AT THE ROOM DOOR THE NIGHT BEFORE AND TRYING TO PEEP INTO THE WONDOW OF THE ROOM I RENTED AND HEARD CATS ON THE TV ASSUMED I HAD CATS AND CAME AND STARTED A FIGHT WITH ME IN THE MORNING AS I WAS LEAVINH BEGORE CHECK OUT TIME. RUDE. DONT STAY AT THE DEEP CREEK ITS A DIVE AND THE OWNER IS TOTALLY U PROFESSIONAL AND A CRIMINAL. A PERVERT. A PEEPING TOM.

$99 bucks a night on the weekend, you cant beat that! No frills just a clean room, tv and wifi. Super close to some great restaurants around town. The guy at front desk is very helpful with tips of local things to do. We come up to this area a lot and was so glad to discover this little gem
We will definitely be back

We came to Deep Creek Motel for MLK weekend. Yes it was at capacity but they were amazing. I booked ahead of time. The room has a CLEAN queen sized bed. Huge room, warm and stocked. It has a small Fridge and cable tv. WiFi is available, just ask for code. The parking is great and it’s a 2 minute walk from deep creek diner. It’s a great place to stay the night.

My wife and daughter shared the bed(I’m a little big) and we fit great.

Made the reservation in hotels.com it was a bit scary when I booked it, seemed very dated. However only booked for one night. I had 2 others that booked a room for the same night. I guess it was the luck of the draw but of the three rooms only one had air conditioning and it wasn’t mine. The advertising listed air conditioning. It was warm an uncomfortable trying to sleep until it got late and it cooled off. The rooms were old the internet was slow but the rooms were clean. The people who run it are trying to get air conditioning in all rooms but as of now only a very few rooms have it.
