I am a Hostel International junkie when I travel alone This is my favorite Hostel International in California. It edges out Santa Monica HI because of its breakfast, tucked away movie room And an amazing staff. Careful you might get a sweet tooth from their desk candy Check out their basement game room. The kids will love it Centrally located....

I hadn't stayed in a hostel for at least 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised that I no longer had to do chores before leaving and was amazed that there were private rooms! I stayed in Room #10 - a private room with a private bath. I thought the price was good ($115) considering the location and the fact that...

The hostel staff are efficient and knowledgeable. I particularly enjoyed how clean and quiet the room is. I made new friends and took great photographs of the Capital area. I look forward to recommending HI Sacramento to my European acquaintances.

I have not stayed at a hostel before and was not sure what to expect. I enjoy staying in a particular environment and just thought hostels were not my cup of tea. I will quickly say that I was wrong. I did upgrade from a dorm setting to a double bed with a private bath. I do draw the line...

Sacramento Hostel International is the best kept secret you will be glad you found. The staff is incredible. But the building is part of its allure, with well placed amenities neatly tucked away within this beautifully preserved mansion. Breakfast gets you ready to go, and a great location to boot. Careful, you might even walk away addicted to their mint...

For my first time in Sacramento, I couldn't have imagined staying at a better place. I stayed in a dormitory with my co-workers for a business trip, which was clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming from the first moment we walked in. The bed sheets, blankets, and towels they provided were comfortable. The shared bathroom was decently clean, and I...

From the moment I walked through the door I felt good. They were preparing for Halloween so there were decorations everywhere. All the staff are friendly & helpful. The rooms are spacious & clean. The shard bathrooms are a little dated but they are clean & the shower has really good pressure. Breakfast is plentiful. The atmosphere is just the...

Great 19th century building, very impressive. I slept on the dormitory with shared bathroom: bed was not bad and bathroom was clean. Breakfast to improve a little in my opinion but is good by the way. Beautiful living room to meet people all over the world. I passed a good time and location is close to Old Sacramento, Capitol and...

As far as US hostels go, this one is pretty nice, with spacious, relaxed common areas. I stayed in a private room and it was cute and comfortable. The other options as far as I could tell in Sacramento were pretty slim - overpriced bed and breakfasts, drab chain hotels, or motels with rooms overlooking parking lots and roadways, all...

The hostel is located in Downtown Sacramento and close to some restaurants. The main attractions of Sacramento are also a short walk away (apart from Sutter's Fort). The staff is very very friendly. We were greeted like old friends and they had many tips on what to do. Also, when our train was departing at 12am, they allowed us to...
