Great place to stay! We were hoping to stay close to airport on our last day of vacation. It was not noisy at all, even though they clearly had a lot of guests and our room overlooked the pool. It is located next to multiple restaurants and some gas stations for refilling the rental car before dropping it off.

We were driving through on our way back to Portland in our RV and needed a place to stay with AC. There were 7 of us and 2 dogs, so we booked a 2 bedroom room. I missed that it was not pet-friendly, so my oldest son stayed in the RV with the dogs.

I wasn’t acknowledged as a Hilton Honors member (not a big deal) and had to ask for the free waters (we were parched). But the front desk staff was very helpful in advising us that we could plug our RV in overnight. Unfortunately, none of the amenities were open so my son had to make due with ‘swimming’ in the bathtub. The normal hot breakfast was not available- I’m sure that was noted on the website somewhere when I booked it, but was a bit disappointed to not have that nice hot breakfast. They did have bag breakfasts that could be eaten in your room- muffin, frozen breakfast sandwich, yogurt and spoke and juice.

For a quick overnight stay, it is very convenient to the interstate. There is a Safeway and several restaurants within walking distance and the regular amenities available (not during the shutdown). Would definitely stay again.

The property is at the edge of an industrial complex that includes 3 hotels and several restaurants. Also near the freeway. Lyft is readily available. The property’s rooms are large. Some cleaning needs to be more regular and detailed, which would be consistent with other reviewers, like trash/crumbs in the elevator, some surfaces not wiped down in the suite. The shower curtain didn’t fit the tub. The bedding was scary — you can’t peel back the cover for fresh bedding because it’s all together.

I spend a lot of time traveling for work and usually love Homewood suites because the larger suites feel more like an apartment. However I was disappointed with this location. The rooms were big and spacious (we had the two bedroom suite), the kitchen was adequately stocked and the beds were comfortable. The rooms were a bit dark and dated and the wallpaper was peeling in more than one location. But I am not too picky about that and would give the rooms a 3.5 out of 5. However the other amenities are lacking. The breakfast was terrible with little choice and poor quality. They ran out of coffee at 9:30 and the staff was reluctant to make more with only 30 minutes left for breakfast. We had wanted to take the kids to the pool but for some reason it is closed in the evenings/night. We consoled our kids telling them they could go swimming in the morning instead. Nope we were told that the pool would not be open until 12:30 or 1:00 because they had just added chlorine. Not sure why they waited until 9 am to do that, what with it being closed the previous evening and night. Needless to say what was supposed to be a fun stay for the kids turned out to be anything but. Won’t be staying here again. There plenty of other options nearby.

I booked this hotel because of the reviews, but I’m not sure who would give this hotel a good review. Maybe it was just my floor but upon entering the elevator the carpet was dirty looked like it hadn’t been shampooed in months. It smelled. The entire 3rd floor had not been vacuumed. Upon entering my room you could tell they just made the bed and semi cleaned the bathrooms. It wasn’t vacuumed and the floor was not mopped. The furniture was dirty and the ottoman had writing on it. I called the front office to request housekeeping to refresh and they never showed up luckily it was a 2 night stay and it was inconvenient for me to find another hotel for my family with a 2 room suite. It was more like a motel experience than a Hilton brand hotel. I did email the manager but no response. I work in the travel industry and this was just not a good experience.

We checked into the hotel yesterday and there were two separate parties arguing with the front desk. Not a good start. Front desk staff was not particularly welcoming or informative. Had to wander around to find the hidden elevator. No signage whatsoever. The room itself was fine. But the "free" snack hour and breakfast were a joke. The snacks were crummy low fat crackers, water and canned sodas. The breakfast was just disgusting. Inedible eggs, sausage you could break a tooth on, limited breads and cold banana muffins. How about just get rid of this "free" stuff and lower your rates? Travel in Covid times is truly a challenge but I feel hotels are really taking advantage of the situation.

I agree that this location is a little worn (peeling wallpaper, stained carpet), but it makes up for it in the things that matter more to me. It seems so well managed. The customer service is great. All staff make eye contact, ask if they can help etc. Really made an impression on me. The breakfast is well presented, and menu is more varied than I would have expected. Also, walking distance to many food options for lunch or dinner. No noise at night. An eight day stay had me feeling quite at home. I feel like I have found my go-to spot when visiting Sacramento.

We stayed here for one night while traveling north. We didn’t get to the hotel until 9 pm but since we are Hilton Honors members we were able to select our room and get a digital key without stopping by the front desk. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and the breakfast was satisfying. Because of COVID they had limited choices but we were able to get something for everyone’s liking. We had a cheese omelet, breakfast potatoes, turkey sausage, and OJ. Our son had cereal and fruit. You have to ask for coffee if you’d like it. I would stay here again. It’s on the north side of town which made it easier to get in and out of. We didn’t use them but they also have a pool, BBQs, and a basketball court!

Ownership thinks running a van every 40 minutes with five people is acceptable for an airport hotel. I was told they usually run a second airport shuttle van, but they've had trouble finding help. I get it, but then the franchise owners should step up and drive a van until ample shuttle service is available. Lots of shortcuts taken, and the bed and pillows seemed to be the most uncomfortable I've experienced in the dozens of Homewood Suites I've stayed at. Plus, they now charge for airport parking even though no one would know if you didn't say anything. Lots of cheapness. Not going back.

We had a late flight coming in from Hawaii (10:30pm) and had reservations at the Holiday Inn next door. Due to a housekeeping snafu, no rooms were available by the time we arrived just before midnight. Fortunately, the Holiday Inn representative was able to arrange a room for the night at the Hilton Homewood Suites, literally just steps next door. The Hilton had a comparable room available and were able to put us up for the night. Although, Hilton wanted to charge us a much higher price than the one we booked. But since we had prepaid the room, the Holiday Inn and Hilton had to work out the charges between them. I would have fought the extra charge anyway since it was Holiday Inn’s fault there was no room.

But, our night of excitement wasn’t over yet. We got to our room at Homewood and the AC was not working. It was pretty hot and stuffy, no way could we sleep there. We called down and the representative found and moved us to another room with working AC. Then we couldn’t get to sleep because we heard someone opening and closing their door across from us every 5 minutes or so. This went on for over an hour and finally stopped. So the walls are definitely a little thin. It was 2:30am.

This hotel’s setup is a little different. It was actually easier to walk outside to get to our room than walking through the hotel. It is shaped like a big square, atrium style with the rooms on the outer part of the square and the pool in the middle. It requires a lot of walking and is also easy to get lost! On top of that the call button on the 3rd floor had a sign that it did not work. So we had to walk down to the end of the hall to take the stairwell to the second floor to ring the call button to get the elevator to the 3rd floor so we could bring our luggage down to the main floor. The date on the sign was from 2 months prior.

On the plus side, the staff here is very pleasant, helpful and professional. The rooms are very comfortable. The small kitchen was a great extra, and the bedroom and bathroom are a space separate from the other part of the room and closed off with a door. They have a complimentary hot breakfast and a 24 hour shuttle. We are very grateful Homewood was able to accommodate us so late at night and on short notice.

This is a long review, but we just wanted others to be aware of snafu’s like we experienced. It is obvious staffing is still an issue and can cause a myriad of problems. Traveling is definitely not “back to normal.”

I know they offer discounts for AAA, AARP, Govt/Military, Seniors. This hotel is a part of the Hilton family of hotels, and typically, they claim to offer the lowest available prices if you book through the Hilton website. That is how I booked the room, as I am a Hilton Honors member, even though I was staying at another Hilton property (a Hampton Inn) when I booked it. The desk people told me to book through the Hilton website. Enjoy your trip!
