Detailed Reviews
Last week our family stayed at the Sacramento Midtown Courtyard Marriott while my three-year old "great" nephew had procedures at the UC Davis Medical Center. We booked two rooms, one for my nephew, his parents and siblings, and one for myself as the caregiver. During our stay we received exceptional service from all the staff! Miyesha at the front desk was sensitive to our situation and brought a bright light of positivity to our interactions whenever we found ourselves pacing in the lobby. The gentleman at the snack bar learned the food preferences of my nephew and his siblings and always greeted us with a huge smile and compassion. The cleaning service was quick to provide us with extra towels when needed, and the maintenance service person greeted us kindly while he worked on his projects. It was a very positive experience to have the Marriott as our home base in the midst of an extremely stressful situation.

Great location to UC Davis Medial. Staff so welcoming during a difficult time in our lives. Christian K was sonamazing, welcoming and compassioniate.
Rooms very clean, bed comfortable.
Only Negatives, doors to hotel room seem a bit too small door fram, light and noise from other guests all through out night. if you are a light sleeper, just get ear plugs and eye mask.
TVs currently advertise internet tv, but did not work nor the tv guide. Night audit told us he could connect us w tech support. we passed. I know it a luxuary, but we are here due to dad being on hospice care, so what litte we can do to distract us for a little bit is nice.
We will be back, best option formwalking distance to UC Davis medical.

This beautifully kept hotel is around the corner from UC Davis Medical Center and services. Hospital stays can be a very stressful and trying time but here you are made welcome and comfortable. There is a commissary with food and drinks and a small bistro that serves coffee and non soft drinks along with delicious pastries. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. All the staff is friendly and David at the front desk was especially helpful and kind. A great place to stay near hospital services. 5*

Where to start? Upon arrival I was told that if I wanted towels I would have to come to the lobby to get them. If I wanted the room cleaned I would have to request it. I first time I asked that the room be cleaned (four days into my stay) I also asked that more kleenix be provided as I was out. Return to the room take out food container lid on the floor, no hand towels and no kleenix. When I phoned the desk I got another lecture on Covid being responsible. After I expressed surprise and told the young man on the phone that every motel 6, Jolly Knight and Bid-a we had drinking cups he asked if I wanted any. I told him no that I had just called for the for the exercise. Then told him that of course I wanted them. A maid brought some kleenix but told me that they were out of cups. Days later I did get some cups at the main desk. I was supposed to get the hospital rate, reminded the desk twice during my 3 week stay and upon check the bill was still not correct and they had to give me a credit. Because of extending my reservation 3 times (my wife had open heat surgery) I was locked out of my room twice and the parking system did not function properly 3 times meaning I had to park on the street and go in and get a new pass to be able to park in the lot. The wi-fi was not pass-worded and my computer will not log on to an open system. I spoke to the desk about this and their response was "o well we have had a number of complaints but that's the way it is. NEVER AGAIN AT A MARRIOTT. I would rather sleep in my car. Oh yes, the door to my room when closed had a large gap and someone could have gained acces with a coat hanger.

This hotel needs a serious remodel. The lobby is fine, the rooms are another story. Walls are paper thin, the things I heard loud and clear....Conversations between people on the phone, I could hear both participating parties on the call; and well you can use your imagination to what else I heard over my three night visit. It was hard to get a good nights sleep here. I have never stayed in a hotel with walls this thin, let alone a Marriott. There are so many things in need of assistance in the rooms I could go on forever. Water pressure in the showers, (not just during peak water usage times either), cleaning issues. Location is ideal if you are visiting a hospital but not for anything else. There are no food or shopping locations within walking distance. The service at the Bistro is horrible. They were out of ingredients to make two of the signature drinks. I am a gold elite marriott member and will not ever be returning to this location again. I will choose another hotel chain over ever coming back here again.

Since January, I've stayed at this hotel several times, while it's convenient to UC Davis Med and Shriners, the problems worsened each visit. Initially; broken toilet, hair in the tub and trash under the vanity, then there's broken drapes staying open 10", outlets hanging out of the wall, NO smoke detector only wires, a smoke detector in a bag and then there's the worst...a vicious dog! Taking the elevator I was met by a guest with a pit bull dog, the dog came at me ready to bite, the owner staying 'I don't have control of this dog', in a panic, I spoke to registration...'Would you like a water, its free'?!

Alejandro, Latoya, Christian, and Bree are wonderful people who provided kind, caring support to my mother and me during a very stressful time. This hotel is conveniently located by the UC Davis medical center and the staff understands what their guests are going through. These folks mentioned above went over and beyond to make sure I had what I needed and were responsive to
my questions. I have been back and forth to this hotel, and it is a comfort to know that I can count on a wonderful experience at the hotel with positive interactions with staff. Thank you for caring about people.

First of all, I want to give 5 stars to the lady at the front desk name Erin. She was so pleasant and professional and helped us with everything that we needed. She made us feel welcome. Secondly, the guy at Starbucks was very nice. Now, the housekeeping I was very disappointed with them. We stayed at the hotel for 3 days. Normally, when we stay that many days, we don't need housekeeping all we need is clean towels and lining. We request additional washcloths because we had our grandchildren with us, and we wanted to keep them clean. unsure why it was a problem to get clean ones from housekeeping. But next time I guess we'll bring our own. Housekeeping needs more training.

This is a great hotel. The location couldn't be better if you are going to the UC David Medical Center or Shriner's Children's Hospital. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There are plenty of plugs for phones, iPads and computers. The room we were in had a desk, a small couch, small refrigerator and microwave. This was so helpful, especially when one is there for a long-term stay. The staff was helpful, kind and understanding. The small bistro downstairs has a bar and a variety of food. It is not 5 star dining, but the food is good.
After a long day in the hospital, it was great to come back and be able to get a meal to eat there or take back to the room. Thank you Courtyard for this gem.

I have stayed at the Courtyard Midtown on 2 occasions for work so far. The location is great if you need close proximity to shiners or the UCDavus Medical campus and hospital
The staff here are wonderful! Always pleasant, very helpful, quickly respond and work hard.
The rooms needs updating -- the lighting, wear and tear - which it sounds like they are planning for!

Our normal check in time is 3:00PM. Most of the time you can check in early when we have rooms available. Once again thank you and we hope to see you again when your travels bring you back to Sacramento.
Parking is free if you are a guest at the hotel.
Hi there - I also do not know about any discounts, but the hotel rate is reasonable and very close to the hospital, which is just a 5 minute walk away. I'm sorry, but I do not know about any shuttle, but it is possible. Good luck to you!
