I had arrived earlier than I planned and was able to check in early. The front desk staff were quick and efficient. I needed help with the WiFi and they were able to help me. I ordered from the restaurant that was there. I had the veggie pizza for $13.00 and it was delicious. You order through the front desk and they charge it to your room. You can have it brought up to your room for an extra $5.00. I also paid $30.00 for overnight parking because I was planning on going out to brunch and did not want to drive. (I choose to walk to brunch.) My room was clean and comfortable. The housekeeping staff were super sweet and professional. They kept calling me Ma’am. 😂❤️ Check out was quick and efficient. I will be back in the future.

The Sheraton Grand is a large hotel centrally located in downtown Sacramento…. That being said everything surrounding it is overpriced, dirty and overall not a safe vibe, but that’s my opinion. The hotel itself is like I said, large and the room was alright. Bed was comfy, but I couldn’t help but notice some dingy furnishings. My view was nice. The fridge was absolutely tiny, I would call it more if a small refreshment cooler (emphasis on the small). Bathroom was fine. What was obnoxious was how loud the hotel was. Everything from the floor above and under (and in the hallways) echoed! When people shut their doors my walls shook and depending on how person was to my room it was loud! At one point I wondered if construction was going on. I could also hear every word spoken in the hallway. There’s a communal microwave on the second floor that was really dirty with peoples spilt food. The staff was very friendly from my experience, I just think the hotel could do more to live up to the “grand” name.

I chose this hotel because it was one of those closest to my work conference. I decided to stay here as it was the most affordable and accessible at the time.

The room is super comfortable and felt as though the hotel was run well -- from the staff, to the amenities, restaurants, parking, etc.

The only thing was that the hotel desk clerk said (upon checking in) that the breakfast buffet was $15, but realized the day of that it was $25 a person. I was at a budget, especially for work, so that was an eye opener. Still had breakfast as I only had a few minutes to space to head to the conference. The good thing is that the hotel took off $10 from my final bill. So that fixed it. Because of this, I rate this hotel as excellent!

I would stay here again, and will actually try their breakfast buffet again as it was quite good actually. But not sure about the $25 per person, I think it's worth $18 to be honest.

Check in went without a hitch; the problem came when we couldn't cool the room to a reasonable temperature (it was in the 50's outside, but in the mid 70's in the room); we survived. The next day, when my wife filled the bath tub, she found dark grey water - same from the sink. When she called the front desk, they notified engineering, who said that they had been working on the pipes, and we shouldn't drink the water (duh). So, she called the front desk to inquire about drinking water and was told there was plenty of water in the lobby, come on down! Because she was still waiting to shower, she asked if they could bring some drinking water and ice - so they delivered a couple of cartons (like the mild cartons we used to get a school) of water and two coffee cups of ice.

I guess that was the best they could do. Overall, the staff seemed pretty nonchalant, not overly friendly, but not rude. Now I recall why I stopped staying at Sheratons - I though maybe that Marriott would have improved them some, but I guess not.

Dear JimmyTbusiness, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Please accept our apologies for the unexpected water issues that occurred during your stay. Our engineer team worked diligently to correct this issue; however, your frustration is understandable. I am also concerned to read your comments relating to our desk associates. All our associates genuinely care about creating comfortable stays for our guests, and we regret that they left you with a less than favorable opinion of our service standards. The appropriate team leader has your comments concerning their behavior to encourage consistent service excellence moving forward. We hope this incident does not prevent you from joining us again on your next visit to our area. It was a pleasure to host you, and we hope to see you again soon. I was very disappointed with my most recent stay at the Sheraton Sacramento on J St. I had several issues that contributed to ruining my experience. The first and most important, was that the elevator access with the key card. That is ridiculous, I was very disappointed that I need it my key card every time I got in the elevator. I understand safety but that is ridiculous. I had to come downstairs a total of 27 times during my stay. I had family who came to visit that I had to come downstairs and get it, my best friend came and I had to go down and get her. The ice machine on the 10th floor was out of order, so I needed to have my key card to go to the next floor which I thought was ridiculous. That alone as discouraged me from ever staying at this hotel again. Furthermore, I had a problem with housekeeping on my second night. I left my room at 11:45-ish. I attempted to call downstairs but no one answered the phone, I went to access my second room on my reservation and was able to get someone on the phone to request cleaning services for my first room. Before I left the hotel I also stopped by the front desk and asked for housekeeping to come to my room just to make sure that it was clear that I needed housekeeping. Five hours later, I return to my hotel to a dirty room, I called downstairs again and someone said they would check and see what happened, I never heard back two hours later and I stop by the front desk after coming back from grabbing dinner and the young lady at the counter apologized and offered me a $10 credit, which I thought was nice, I told her I needed towels three face towels and 2 dry off towels. The attendant brought towels to the room but didn’t bring the correct amount and I never got any face towels. Also some of the towels in both rooms had a brown stain on it, which means that they were dirty. Last but not least when we were downstairs dealing with the housekeeping issue my roommate asked about coffee in the morning. They instructed us that I guess coffee is served at 7:00 AM. Fast forward to the next morning, my roommate came down to get coffee at 7 o’clock and saw that you guys had free coffee that ended at 7 o’clock. Basically deceiving my friend in order to make a buck. Communication sucked, Along with the annoying elevator key card issue. I was glad to know that I was not the only patron that was annoyed, As I was I guess expressed the inconvenience of having to use your key card each time you were in the elevator. I just had a bad experience, at this particular hotel I will never stay at this hotel again.

We read an article stating that dogs stay free at Sheraton Hotels. We decided to visit family in Sacramento and booked a room for $240. When we arrived they offered to upgrade us to a suite for an addtional $100. We chose the suite. We were told that our card would be run for $100 for a "dog deposit" which I understood would be to cover damages if there were any. When we returned home we found our card has been charged for the total of $505.30 for one night. What an outrageous price to pay for a very outdated room. We will not be back and will never book a Sheraton or Marriott again, and we travel often. They should be ashamed of themselves.

We stayed at the Sheraton for one night as a stop through to our next destination. We didn’t have high hopes, but we didn’t think it would be as much of a let down as it was. The bar food was not good. They hit you with self-parking and wifi charges as you check in, and the rooms were outdated and stuffy. On the positive side, the gym was nice, but unless you are solo travelling for work in the downtown core, I would not stay here.

We have an annual conference in Sacramento and have been using this hotel for several years. Last week was our first conference in a couple of years and it was so disappointing. Check in was very slow. About 30 people in line. They had 4 clerks and then 2 of them disappeared. So it took a very long time to check in. Rooms badly need updating. Carpets in the elevators and hallways have not been cleaned in many years and are very dirty. Trying to call the front desk or room service was ridiculous - no one answers the phone. Mattress and pillows were lumpy and smelled funny. For breakfast, the restaurant only offered the $25 buffet, not the other items on the menu. All in all, if I had a choice, I would never stay here again

My husband and I haven’t been able to travel much but now that our children have moved out, we have started going on stay-cations in San Francisco area. Our stay at the Sheridan Grand was disappointing. We decided to stay here because when we stay at the Sheridan in Agoura Hills, it is fabulous! At the Grand, we had to pay $30 for parking and $15 for internet. We paid for a room with a king-size bed but we got a room with a queen bed. We only had one towel and the conditioner container attached to the wall was empty. The bathtub was very small (apartment size). The towels were rough. The room decor needs updating. There are no usb ports on bedside lamp or on the desk area. The desk has only one electrical plug on in the lamp. The room was hot (72 degrees) and it was difficult to figure out the controls. I will say that the staff was pleasant and accommodating. They brought more towels quickly and with a smile.

Not so Grand, or Where a great brand goes to die. There is virtually no housekeeping or maintenance staff. So, the property is dirty. Trash overflowing in the common areas, dirty towels piled up and strewn about the gym, and the carpets in the elevators look like some dumped a back of cookies and stomped on them. Of course there is not daily cleaning service so it’s operated more like a dirty serviced apartment than a hotel. This also means in room coffee and towels are not refreshed. Oh, and the espresso maker in the lounge doesn’t work and I’m told it was reported days ago so coffee in the morning is also a chore to find. Where are the managers to set the standards and ensure a basic level of hygiene? Are the owners milking the profits at the expense of the guests? Marriott, when was the last time you shopped/inspected this property. Failures at ever level. The pluses: the front desk staff are friendly and service oriented. The gym, while at times disgusting (dirty towels everywhere) is quite well equipped. All in all, for the price and broken service expectations you’re better off saving the money and stay at a nearby lower tier property that might actually pay attention to cleanliness.

There was a small deposit for pets, but it was refunded at the end of the trip. The hotel is very pet friendly and the capital gardens are 1-2 blocks away and were a great place for our dog to get some exercise. Our dog is 50 pounds, but they did not inquire about her size or have limitations as far as I know. Hope this helps!

Good Afternoon! Our valet service is $32.00 overnight and the self- parking garage located directly across the street from us on 13th and J is $25.00 overnight. Thank you!
