Just returned from out first visit to Napa Valley and the Wine Country Inn. beautiful peaceful location in Saint Helena area of Napa, close to Main Street, wineries and restaurants.
We were lucky enough to get probably one of the better located rooms with unobstructed views from our east facing balcony of a neighboring winery and the hills in the background. Late afternoon snack and a glass or two of wine in the shade on the balcony was so relaxing. Exactly what we came for.
The room itself was bright, clean, very spacious and amazingly quiet. In fact the whole Inn had a serine feel to it during the day. The quiet almost hurting our ears!
The provided breakfast was standard hotel fare buffet style. Not outstanding, but acceptable to get the day started. Coffee was fresh and hot as was an egg dish, bacon and sausage links the days we were there. Cold cereal and toast essentials, with yogurts and fruits also available.
All in all very pleased with our random choice of the Wine Country Inn, and would love to return one day.

We are happy to see you had a memorable stay with us. Sometimes the random selection can lead to a new favorite. Fall in the Napa Valley is beautiful and we like to think that the views from our property are some of the best around. Thank you for taking the time to share with others the experience you had while staying with us. We look forward to welcoming you back sometime soon.

We booked a vineyard view cottage for a 2 night/3 day stay, and we loved it! The property only has 5 cottages, 3 with vineyard view and 2 with garden view. Our cottage was the middle one (#30). The cottage was spacious and very clean. We were pleasantly surprised to see a nook with beautiful stained glass windows, ideal for quiet reading and a huge bathroom. The large bathtub/jacuzzi was also graced with a beautiful stained glass. The shower area had three shower heads, one big one above and two regular size ones from the wall. There's a sitting area, too. The bathroom was always well lit with natural lights from the two skylights. The towels were thick and plush. The patio had 4 lounge chairs and a small fountain with a view of the vineyard and the mountains.

Due to COVID, breakfast was not buffet style. The day before, you fill out a piece of paper with the time you want your breakfast delivered and the items you want. The vegetarian quiche was especially good. They also provide a breakfast "to go" in a bag if you're heading out. Coffee is served 24/7 in the reception area or you can always brew your own using the Keurig in your room.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the services provided by Wine Country Inn. Will come back again!

We usually stay at bed and breakfast Inn when we travel, but establishments like Wine Country Inn and Cottages have become our new favorite. Our room was lovely, clean and in a quiet location. The bed was extremely comfortable and the black out drapes were perfect for keeping the room dark. Loved the large dressing area and bathroom! The grounds are pristine and wonderfully maintained. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the view of the vineyards. The buffet style breakfast was terrific, so many options and the staff are extremely accommodating. The Inn is conveniently located to town and the other wine yards. We took a long walk in the morning and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. This is truly a welcome escape from our busy schedules and look forward to returning next time we visit Napa.

Ok. This may be long but worth it. First of all, I stayed here many years ago and loved it. Not so much now. They used to have an evening reception with food and wine. Not now. Grounds and view are nice but it ends there. I stayed in room 20 overlooking the vineyard. Cost was over $500 a night. The room was dirty. Dead and live drain flies in the room. Someone's long black hair on the walls in the shower in several places. Bathroom is VERY dated including 1980s glass block, stained grout, stained sinks, and cob webs all over the outside window. Cob webs on the outside patio railing and very old cobwebs on the railing leading up to the room outside. There was a silica gel pack on the floor from a previous guest. They dont clean the room during your stay unless your there over 2 days, yet only 2 bath towels, 2 coffee mugs, 2 coffee pods, etc.(Yes you can go get coffee etc in the dining area, but im on East Coast time and breakfast etc, doesnt start until 7:30. 10:30 my body time.) Asked the next morning for more towels. Went touring and came back 5 hours later and no towels. Called again and they came promptly. Breakfast was exactly the same both days and from the other reviews I read, its the same offerings for years. Had to go back twice for silverware as the knives had dried food on them from not being cleaned well enough. I also noticed im the only review on here from 2024. The last woman that gave them 5 stars posted 6 weeks ago, yet stayed in June of 2023. Odd. I also notice that the GM has only made comments to 5 star reviews. How about read the real reviews and update the place. There is no lack of great places to stay in St Helena. Im an Airline Pilot and spend a third of my life in hotel rooms, both on my own commuting and on the company, so im not picky but at $500+ a night I am.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your feedback after staying with us. I regret to see that your stay did not meet the standards and experience we strive to provide all guests. We moved away from having a nightly food and wine reception five years ago. All information regarding that past amenity has been removed from all marketing and digital content to help eliminate the expectation that it is an amenity still offered. The bathroom in your guest room does have a retro feel as it is unique to all other guest rooms and has stunning views from the sunken tub. Our intensions were to provide you with our most frequently requested room as you were here celebrating a special occasion with your partner. We do have a full property renovation scheduled later this year that I am confident will yield some modern touches being added that would better elevate the areas you felt were lacking. Being surrounded by three working vineyards we do our best to try and mitigate any excessive cobwebs. They are addressed multiple time weekly by our grounds team, but can return quite quickly. I regret that this was a detriment to your stay and will ensure we follow up with or team to verify our care schedule was not missed. Any hair found in your bathroom is not acceptable and is not a representation of the quality of cleanliness we demand from ourselves and provide to all guests. This is will be reviewed with our team and we will be revisiting our processes to grow and better guarantee every step is taken to eliminate the likelihood of this lapse in cleanliness standards. Our team strives to ensure that every guest leaving our property is taking positive memories with them. When we receive feedback like that which you have provided, we can clearly see our goal was missed with your stay. We will be reviewing very thoroughly where we could have better addressed the areas that needed correction and how we can better guarantee these areas are not going to be affecting any future guest experiences. We would love the opportunity to provide you with an experience that leaves you with a positive memory of your time here. If you decide to travel back to our area again, please reach out. I would love to assist in any way to help make sure your next stay better reflect what we work to provide our guests daily.

My partner and I booked a weekend stay at this hotel. We got a king room with a vineyard view. The room was spacious and the views of the vineyard were gorgeous. We were initially quite satisfied with the place overall, until later at night when we were in bed and noticed blood stains on the sheets. It wasn't just one or two drops—there were several, in different spots throughout the bed as well as the blanket.

It seems that housekeeping is not doing a good job of cleaning the sheets each night. The poor housekeeping is especially concerning amidst the pandemic. It's concerning enough that blood is on the sheets and not being cleaned, and it's a whole other concern that housekeeping didn't even notice the stained sheets.

We called the front desk to request new sheets and blankets, but they were only able to provide us with a very thin sheet, so despite booking a deluxe king room, we had to sleep without comfy sheets and blankets.

There are several other gorgeous boutique hotels in the Napa area. Book another place that takes cleanliness more seriously.

I have never previously reviewed a property, however I felt compelled to do so on this occasion. At a cost of nearly £400 per room per night, this place is extremely overpriced for the service provided. It’s a complete rip off!

There is no restaurant on site. A very basic breakfast is delivered to your room (at the incorrect time) in a paper bag, with plastic cutlery and polystyrene plates. Juices were straight from a carton and butter and jam packets, the variety you would find at a service station. An absolute insult!

Nice Facility, Begrudging Service
Very unfortunate that the extra touches have disappeared under the cloak of COVID 19. For example- substandard breakfast del’d luke warm to your room but only at times pre- reserved ahead by the guest the night before. Nice pool but no towels available there. a stack of ten towels replenished every so often would be more in line with the level of these accommodations. the staff seemed utterly indifferent.

We travel quite frequently. We love to come to Napa and we do so all the time. When we come to the Napa Valley we enjoy staying in different places as well. On this trip we booked the Wine Country Inn & Cottages, what a mistake! The gal that checked us in was not interested in providing good customer service at all. We were told that many of their services are not available because of COIVD. Really? The only requirement right now is to wear a mask indoors. Why didn't it say all of this when we booked our room at almost $700 per night for a Sun-Tuesday?
She basically pointed at the wall to tell us where our room was. It took us awhile walking around the property to find it. She shoved a letter at us and told us to read it. I guess we were caught up in enjoying our day and it was 5 pm so we didn't realize we need to call the day prior to get our room clean. How do you check in and she doesn't ask us since it is so late in the day? We were just going to get ready for dinner and leave which is what we did.

Fast forward we come back from our day in the Napa Valley and our room is not cleaned. I called the front desk where Shelia was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. She very rudely asked me if I read my letter? She proceeded to talk to me like I was a child. I hung up the phone and told my husband, "Did we seriously pay almost $1400 for this?" You don't clean the room, you don't bring us towels, you don't take out the trash, and you talk to your guests so terribly.

From someone who travels, and has been a manager in the customer service business for over 30 years, do not stay at the Wine Country Inn & Cottages until they improve their customer service and rude employee attitudes. Other guests here felt the same way as we did. COVID is NO excuse for being rude to someone who is paying a lot of money to stay at your Inn. I guess they are desperate, but this is only going to affect their bookings. People do read these reviews.

It is overpriced and the staff ruin the experience.

There are so many good things about this secluded getaway. From the moment we checked in, the front desk was very polite and accommodating. They let us store our wine as we arrived before our room was ready, not to worry as there are so many things to do near by. They did give up a little bottle of rosemary hand sanitizer too and I am in love with it.

When we parked and got into our room, it was beautifully appointed, felt relaxing with the perfect fountain and outside sitting area. The bed and sheet quality were luxurious and very soft. The bathroom was perfectly lit, had heated floors, comfy bathrobes, rain shower and spacious double sinks. A small bottle of Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc was waiting for us, which we chilled and went for dinner at nearby Brasswood.

After dinner, we returned back to relax and enjoy. It was still pretty early, around 7-ish. We enjoyed the wine and each other’s company. We heard a door slam above us and stomping and a shriek. Then more screaming and laughing. Lots of walking around in heels back and forth drunkenly. This continued through out the evening and late until the night. We could hear everything. We turned on music to try and drown out the noise. It didn’t help. Every time we tried to ignore the sounds coming from above, they would drop something or laugh really loudly over and over.

The floors have no insulation from above noise. Would never stay in a bottom room here. Our experience was not relaxing at all, which was such a shame as it is a lovely property. But there are so many amazing places to stay in Napa and Wine Country Inn & Cottages missed the mark.

We stayed here for four nights and are so very happy we chose this particular inn in the country. Although everyone in California was enduring poor air quality due to the fires, we found the staff at the inn have made our stay streamline during the Covid pandemic. We never felt uncomfortable as they have thought of everything. Our room was comfortable and our views of the vineyard and the old oak trees were precisely what I was looking for. We were the only guests in the pool area, and they had a protocol for cleaning it and allowing only so many guests at a specific time. Lovely country inn and staff.
