Laurel Inn used to be our go to place when road tripping. Not after last night. Place has been let go. It is terrible. Needs to be gutted and furniture replace. Wish I had taken pictures, the place is terrible.
First room I was assigned had a carpet so gross that I didn't want to step on it. Next room I was assigned had a flooded bathroom floor & broken security lock. Final room I was assigned looked fine, but it turned out the heater was broken. And there was no wifi (it was out all night for the entire hotel). I had car trouble, so I asked the desk clerk what restaurants were in walking distance. He said only the one across the parking lot. It may serve good Mexican food, but after waiting 40 minutes for the menu I requested when I arrived, I left. This place could be nice (and probably once was), but it badly needs maintenance. On the upside, the front desk staff was friendly, the bedding & towels were clean, & the complimentary breakfast was adequate.
I'm surprised by all the negative reviews as our stay was quite pleasant. Bed and shower were fine. Has a ceiling fan microwave and fridge. TV was ok but there was no guide. Also better hotels provide clean wipes for the remote. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast included eggs dished up by server Until 10 am. Pool was full of kids. Main complaint is that the carpet was filthy and needs to be replaced with something flat and cleanable . Easy access to 101
Front desk was professional but room and properly was dirty! Dirty walls, floors and doors. The closet has a dirty towel and dry cleaning bag from previous guest. The free breakfast was decent but the coffee wasn’t brewed but more like freeze dried. Do not recommend.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! The hotel is FILTHY! I was there for 36 minutes and immediately canceled and got a full refund. The towels were dirty, the sheets were dirty, the floors were so filthy my child socks turned black within moments of taking off his shoes! The TV was broke and the remote was broke as well as missing the back, but don’t worry they use duct tape to fix that. When we complained about the remote and the TV, the person at the front desk (Danny) brought us another remote to a completely different TV, which of course did not work. If I could I would give this place a -5 star review and would recommend that it be shut down IMMEDIATELY! The health inspector should come and check and see if it should be operational, beause they aren’t following basic cleanliness protocol let alone COVID cleanliness protocol. There was also an issue with contacting management as we were told management didn’t have a phone number and only an email. Again DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE! You would be better off sleeping in your car.…
We return here because of the location. However, this stay had problems - extreme noise from upstairs! ZERO sleep. Very bad. Night clerk said he would contact the noisy room but noise did not stop. The second night did not have noise/they left. Also, no coffee in the room - was told coffee would be delivered/never arrived. On the plus side, grab n go breakfast was perfect! Love the tiny cutie, granola and a treat. VERY nice. And, coffee was available in the lobby, so that was good. We will stay here again, but not as happy as previously. The first floor room was nice since we could back car right up to door.
Stayed here before, but the room I got this time was not nice. Dirty and worn down. The whole place is suffering and in bad need of a renovation. It is a budget motel, but this was not ok compared to others in the same category.
Beware these people are crooks they will take your deposit and not give it back.....the rooms are filthy the management has no customer skills the pool is disgusting...half the hotel is crowded with field workers the ice machines ice is even yellow and discolored
Visiting Salinas for three days, found the Laurel Inn online and it looked good for three stars. The rooms (we had two) were very clean, modern with cable tv. The parking was perfect and free. The INCLUDED BREAKFAST was excellent, featuring eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and all the other healthy stuff and drinks. They also had a computer in the office to print out your airline boarding passes, etc. Mitchell and the other desk attendants were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. The location was very good.... TWO major shopping centers/malls within a mile of the place, many restaurants also nearby.... and a very good Mexican seafood restaurant just across the parking lot. We would use this place again for sure.
This was a terrible motel: arrived to discover dirty sheets on one of the beds: hair, etc. in sheets. Called front desk: they had no one to bring fresh ones, so I had to go get them and change the bed myself. There were lots of ants in the toilet and sink area, and the toilet ran all night. Towels were old and thin. When I told Remy at the front desk about the dirty sheets the next morning, she did not appear surprised at all. She reluctantly offered a paltry 10% off the bill, and NO APOLOGY, but rather a bad attitude. Said she couldn't do anything about the ants. The toilet was still running upon our return that evening. I had two interactions with Remy, and both times she had an attitude with me; doesn't seem to grasp the concept of customer service. To add insult to injury, they USE STYROFOAM in their breakfast room, and they DO NOT RECYCLE.…
