Well located near freeway and local routes,
Room with very new decorations, clean modern tile bath, closet with ironing board.
Staff pleasant and helpful.
Very nice breakfast with bacon and eggs, rolls, fresh fruit.
Good value, very clean, older hotel. I would stay here again. Good breakfast, just like most chains. Disappointed there was no washer and dryer. No air conditioner in room, opened window until we went to bed. Thank goodness it wasn't hot!
Great breakfast, including eggs, sausage or bacon (on alternating days), muffins, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt coffee, juices, milk, etc. Also, Black Bear Diner is on the property. A wonderful diner chain where we dined in many cities throughout our trip. Room was clean and comfortable.
First off, if you go to the Laurel Inn's website, you're sure to be confused when you arrive here. This is what appears to be an older motel, right off the freeway, in a fairly sketchy section of town. There are no fields of grapevines...More

Hi, Nothing against this Inn. However, If you're just looking for an overnight stay, Salinas doesn't have much to offer unless you're also going to Monterey. If traveling from LA to SF, San Luis Obispo is a more interesting town on 101 (and from there, you can take Calif 1 for The Most Beautiful Drive In The World, Big Sur). If you want to get closer to SF and the Bay Area, Gilroy or Morgan Hill may have much cheaper costs. (You can also make it from LA to SF on Interstate 5 in one day's drive, and see farmland)
