We return here because of the location. However, this stay had problems - extreme noise from upstairs! ZERO sleep. Very bad. Night clerk said he would contact the noisy room but noise did not stop. The second night did not have noise/they left. Also, no coffee in the room - was told coffee would be delivered/never arrived.
On the plus side, grab n go breakfast was perfect! Love the tiny cutie, granola and a treat. VERY nice. And, coffee was available in the lobby, so that was good. We will stay here again, but not as happy as previously. The first floor room was nice since we could back car right up to door.

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews as our stay was quite pleasant. Bed and shower were fine. Has a ceiling fan microwave and fridge. TV was ok but there was no guide. Also better hotels provide clean wipes for the remote. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast included eggs dished up by server Until 10 am. Pool was full of kids. Main complaint is that the carpet was filthy and needs to be replaced with something flat and cleanable . Easy access to 101

The rooms are comfortable and ours was quite large. The air conditioning is effective and not that noisy, there is an ice machine (although it was broken when we went), coffee is available in the lobby and in room, and there is a pool which looked lovely and clean, although we didn’t use it. The breakfast was available from 6 til 10 and had cooked options as well as continental. There were bagels, English muffins and brown bread, with Honey, cream cheese, jam, butter etc. there was coffee, tea and orange juice, and scrambled eggs and sausages. There was also porridge. They had a microwave and toaster, it is all kept very clean and tidy.

Room was clean, but very outdated. We moved rooms as the first one allocated was for 2 people (we had booked a room for 3). Didn't use the pool, so can't comment on that. Breakfast was basic but adquate; bagels, eggs etc. Girl on reception was very welcoming and helpful.

Front desk was professional but room and properly was dirty! Dirty walls, floors and doors. The closet has a dirty towel and dry cleaning bag from previous guest. The free breakfast was decent but the coffee wasn’t brewed but more like freeze dried. Do not recommend.

First room I was assigned had a carpet so gross that I didn't want to step on it.
Next room I was assigned had a flooded bathroom floor & broken security lock.
Final room I was assigned looked fine, but it turned out the heater was broken.
And there was no wifi (it was out all night for the entire hotel).
I had car trouble, so I asked the desk clerk what restaurants were in walking distance. He said only the one across the parking lot. It may serve good Mexican food, but after waiting 40 minutes for the menu I requested when I arrived, I left.

This place could be nice (and probably once was), but it badly needs maintenance. On the upside, the front desk staff was friendly, the bedding & towels were clean, & the complimentary breakfast was adequate.

How it comes up with a four point rating I will not understand?
This motel is an absolute dump. In my 64 years I have never stayed in a place that made me so nervous. Because I spent the money on this room, I brought my bedding up from my car and put it on top of the bed bedding, because the bed bedding was full of black hair and the sheets were worn out. Curtains wouldn’t close all the way because they’re broken. I saw a AAA rating award in the office, that needs to be resubmitted. This is far from anything remotely close to a AAA hotel.
Slept in my clothes on top of my own bedding for a couple hours, and then left. I was concerned my vehicle was not safe as there were several people in and out of a vehicle downstairs. Would not recommend this place at all!

The first red flag should have been the broken ice machines and the spa before we even checked in. After getting the key to the room, we proceeded to the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs there was a used condom which was still there when we checked out 2 days late. The carpet in the room was stained, the toilet was not bolted down, the outlets were loose, the phone was not connected, the clock was unplugged and the dresser drawers would not stay closed. No one knows why! Of course we brought these issues to the attention of the front desk clerk and the most she was able to give us was a bag of chips and popcorn.

This place is absolutely disgusting. The 1st room smelled bad, had whitish "organic substance" stains on the wall, and bedsheets were badly stained, the mattress was even worse. I immediately headed back down to the front desk and showed the clerk the photos I took. She apologized and gave me another room. I had to walk past feces and garbage on the sidewalk to the room. I entered to find a sticky dirty tabletop, then peeled back the comforter to find UNCHANGED bedsheets with POOP SKIDMARKS on it!!!! I looked no further and headed back to the front desk to ask for a refund. Since I booked through Booking.com, the clerk said I'd have to file a claim with them, which I did, which is another issue.

Turns out this hotel has converted to a "voucher" hotel so there is a heavy population of voucher recipients there.

I used to live in this town and the former owners had a great reputation and ran a nice hotel. Since the Reardon-Sammuts sold it, it's gone straight to poop. Stay away if you value your health and safety.

Our room was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. However the breakfast, which used to be great, was recently cut back to just breads and coffee and juice. No cereal, fruit, or eggs as before. The pool needed maintenance waiting for a part. One ice machine was not working.

Best to contact the hotel directly as they can check rates and advise about their pet policy.

Hi, Nothing against this Inn. However, If you're just looking for an overnight stay, Salinas doesn't have much to offer unless you're also going to Monterey. If traveling from LA to SF, San Luis Obispo is a more interesting town on 101 (and from there, you can take Calif 1 for The Most Beautiful Drive In The World, Big Sur). If you want to get closer to SF and the Bay Area, Gilroy or Morgan Hill may have much cheaper costs. (You can also make it from LA to SF on Interstate 5 in one day's drive, and see farmland)
