This family owned hotel is slightly off the beaten path, and has the charm and character that a weary traveler looks for. The staff (owners wife!) is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is a custom made in the style of a Mexican villa. The rooms were large, clean and quiet (except the walls were a bit thin). The price...

I read some of the reviews and wonder if I stayed in the same place. I found the Lopez's to be pleasant and welcoming. The room was clean and provided everything we needed. Breakfast was nicely served. Overall, it was enyoyable and I plan on staying there again.

The room was perfectly clean comfortable and quiet. Several wedding parties going on. Ms. Lopez and her staff were friendly and sweet. After reading all the bad reviews, I was really nervous, but there you go. The written word can be a dangerous tool. Give this place a chance if you skipped it because of what might be some sour...

Too many problems made the stay unpleasant. The front desk is unfriendly. The water went out on Sunday morning. No drinking glasses in the room. Pilot not lit for the fireplace. If you miss breakfast (as we did), coffee is not even offered. No hair dryer. One is provided if you ask but the front desk acts as if you...

Friends and family some of which are former local residents have spent many wonderful stays here over the past 15 years. On our last stay the management charged us extra for a room that we never requested and never booked. We are pretty meticulous about our record keeping, yet the owner, Mrs. Lopez was adamant that we had to pay...

We stayed one night at the "Posada." The outside looks nice, the lobby is impressive when they turn the lights on but our room was dismal. It seems as if the motel was formerly a really nice place, but now sadly quite worn down and in need of maintenance. The carpet was dirty, the chairs stained, the bedspreads were thin...

Our group has been staying here over 10 years, same time every year. We have watched the steady decline of this once nice place. I won't write endless paragraphs of detail, but this time they ripped me off with a room switch....no attempt to make it right. Check-in clerk claimed an employee booked rooms, then quit and took records with...

At the charming Posada De San Juan we stayed for Presidents weekend and throughly enjoyed the quiet small hometown/ ranchstyle feeling this hotel brings. It's just two blocks from Mission San Juan Bautista and Shoping. There is a great little Musical/Drama Theater down the street. Every year they have a wonderful Christmas show. Everything anyone would expect for a small...

I have been coming to La Posada since it first opened... sometime in the 90's?? The Pros: It's right in the middle of town, not that SJB is a sprawling city, but you can literally walk anywhere you need to from this location. Check out Dona Esther's for good Mexican, JJ's for awesome burgers and Matxain Etxea for delicious Basque...

Mary the owner was very nice. The room was clean, the showers are awesome 2 shower heads, and a gas fireplace was awesome. The beds were comfortable, and since I am a chiropractor I notice those things. It is close to walking distance to everything in town. I loved hearing the roosters crow in the morning, cool charm. The room...
