This is the second time we stay at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and the bathroom fixtures are very nice. BUT if you expect to sleep after the sun comes up, there is no way, the blinders are nice but all the light goes through. The hotel provides sleep mask that are so cheap you cannot wear them. Due to Covid they do not offer cleaning the rooms AT ALL. The staff needs a lot of training, they are nice, but lack of knowledge and experience,. They told us we did not need a reservation to Ox restaurant on. Monday and Ox is closed on Mondays. The Manager Reed, although you can see him performing all sorts of tasks, from caring the luggage to the room, to front desk and preparing coffee, customer service is not his thing he is just not amicable, very dry, someone that should be doing another job.

Modern, clean, stylish + centrally located. Our family of four stayed at HotelSLO and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. Relax by the pool or dine at the impeccable Ox + Anchor. Hiking @ Harmony Headlands, fish & chips in Pismo Beach. Don't forget to bike ride around the town of SLO too - bikes complimentary, a la HotelSLO. We look forward to visiting again!

Gorgeous modern clean design Wonderful common spaces Great staff that addressed COVID in just the right way Steps from downtown BUT so nice, we were tempted to spend the day at the hotel Yoga classes Pool Great spaces inside and outside to hang out despite COVID Nice music in the evening that in no way was overbearing Bonus: we got a kick out of the water fountain dispensing carbonated water Mystery: Not sure how Tripadvisor ranks hotels, but there is NO way that this place comes in at #17 of 32 in SLO. By our standards it should be in the top 3 at least

My husband and I enjoyed our two night stay at Hotel SLO in the heart of downtown. The hotel was clean and modern, with great interior decorating. The rooms were bright, with comfortable linens and furniture. The outdoor patio opened with large sliding glass windows. The room was equipped with a nice Nespresso coffee maker, waters and some snacks. There was also a mini-fridge to keep food and drinks cold. The hotel was running pretty lean due to COVID restrictions, but they did their best to ensure a comfortable and safe stay. Hotel guests were allowed to dine on their outdoor patio at reserved tables with table service, which was a nice touch. The hotel was within walking distance to all downtown shops, sights and restaurants. It was also easy to valet park our car (or park in the garage across the street). I’d recommend Hotel SLO to anyone looking for a modern, comfortable hotel in downtown SLO.

I have stayed at Hotel SLO 3-4 times now and have loved each visit - they actually get better each time. It’s the PERFECT location - close to Downtown but far enough not to hear any late night action. The valets are the best - there is one boy who goes to Cal Poly who could not be sweeter and engaging and remembers us! Wow. Of course the dog-friendly option is a must for us so we really appreciate it - but you don’t see too many dogs which is nice. The gal at the coffee/bakery was delightful. The rooms are awesome - we usually get the 2 queens which give plenty of space - the small lounge area is perfect for morning coffee and balconies in the south side are picturesque- you can see Madonna mountain. The restaurant is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have loved all of our meals - last time we visited we went down for a later dinner and had such a nice time - there was a silent film being shown if you were so inclined- we loved it - and the Tomato Salad with homemade sourdough!! Out of this world. They have a pastry chef on staff who makes sourdough fresh daily! I could go on but I’ll stop there. If you have not gone it’s a must! I have 2 minor pieces of feedback - the gal at the front was not engaging (others posts have mentioned) and cocktails were not strong :(
