Amazing customer service! Immediately I was greeted by name and checked in quickly. I was also told of the different amenities the hotel had to offer, which I greatly appreciated because it was our first time staying at this location. The lobby was beautiful! We stayed in a King Room it was very comfortable and clean!
... The quiet part applies if you stay in the back rooms 318-334 and 418-440. What this hotel has that is unusual and I REALLY appreciate are split-system air conditioner units that are whisper quiet. That means no moaning unit hanging below the window that thunks and clunks every time it cycles. They are more like central air conditioners such as you would have in your home. It is a great feature. All of the rooms toward the front of the hotel experience road noise, but the ones in the back (see room numbers above) offer a nice, quiet sleeping environment. I have tried a handful of mid-priced hotels here in SLO, since I come here often on business, and this is the one I now use exclusively. They are handling COVID as best they can, providing a free hot "grab and go" breakfast that is served to you socially-distanced from behind a counter. Nice and friendly staff, and convenient to highway 101.…
My husband and I visited this hotel as a mini vacation. It was clean, but looked like is was out dated. The pool area was nice, but the hot tub was not in service and looked like there was lots of algae growing in it. We were told that everything was open. I don’t think the hot tub was included in ‘everything’. The walls were somewhat thin and the person above us just couldn’t get settled at night (lots of walking back and forth). The area where the hotel is located is very strip mall like - not picturesque. I know they are trying to keep up the breakfast service in the morning, but for me, I just skipped it since it was just a bunch of processed stuff and yucky coffee. We have stayed at other Best Westerns Plus hotels that have exceeded our expectations. This one, not so much.
We had stayed a night in a neighboring hotel and were very dissatisfied. We checked right into the Best Western and will only be staying at this location when we travel to this town. Best service and pet rates!
This property is a bit older and well maintained. Similar to the property, our room was clean and pleasant. The hotel is poorly sound insulated, so noise definitely travels easily. Luckily the guests were relatively quiet. I am sure it can get loud otherwise. The property is located near some restaurants and not too far of a drive from downtown.
