This place is a cheap (ish) alternative to staying in San Francisco which can be reached via a variety of ways - car, bus or ferry. We went to SFO on the ferry from Larkspur which is a 10 minutes drive from the Marin and a great 30 minute ferry ride from SFO. The lodge provides free drinks and pastries... More

we stayed one night. Enjoyed the very spacious room, the super comfortable beds, the first class service from the fantastic staff and the great tranquility. An amazing stay. The check in was quick and very welcoming. We were even suggested to get free soft drinks (or water) of our choice. The check out early morning was again a great experience... More

This was a very pleasant surprise. It is rare that one comes across a small motel like this that is so fresh, clean, quiet, comfortable and generally pleasant. Clearly the . place was either recently remodeled or is kept in such perfect condition that it seems so. I stayed there just overnight to break up a long driving trip. It... More

What a great find -- an nicely updated, clean, pretty motel building with off-street parking, friendly owners, complimentary good coffee and pastry/bread and fruit in the morning and complimentary water and soda (they suggest one per day) in a mini-frig in the office. The bed was comfortable, as was the lounge chair. There was a small office area with mini-frig.... More

We stayed at the Marin lodge at the same time last year. I am glad we decided to stay here again, the beds, linen, towels, shower even the soap are great. The best so far on our trip. The motel is located on the north side of the bay and there is a little travel time into San Francisco, 30... More

Marin Lodge is an older facility which has been nicely updated. It is clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was quite compact but otherwise fine. (I loved the nice, fluffy towels they provided!) The room was very quiet, despite being located on a fairly busy street. My only complaint was that the heater blew directly... More

The owners of this lodge take great care of this property and it shows. They are very friendly and accommodating. Our room with 2 beds was super cute and the beds were really comfortable. We loved our stay here and wanted to stay another day but they were booked. Good for them! We would definitely stay here again.

You get what you pay for. Rooms are a bit older, but clean and comfortable. Bathrooms very small. Located in a residential area, so only parking is in their small lot. Internet connection is terrible, gave up trying after a while. They offer a continental breakfast, but we left before they opened for breakfast.

After reading past reviews of Marin Lodge we decided to stay there for three nights on a recent visit to San Francisco. What a good decision!! This is an older motel style facility but the rooms are large and in excellent condition. The grounds are surrounded in trees that shut out whatever noise there might be from the adjoining street....which... More

We booked this hotel for two nights for our San Francisco stay. The hotel room was comfortable size. Queen bed, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, soft and ample towels, long "L" shaped counter above the fridge for work space or place for your luggage. The toilet is vacuumed assist so it is noisy when flushed. Water was hot when desired. We... More
