Although the location was convenient for my needs the hotel was awful. There is a restaurant as part of the property so you can hear the kitchen noise throughout the hotel. Pillows were like hard pancakes, showers outdated and almost dangerous to get in and out of. Management was very rude.

Notice how every hotel room looks alike, not here, every room has panache and a theme. Spread in different bldgs, these rooms are somewhat themed, but not hokey. Comfortable beds, clean, good towels and toiletries. Good included breakfast included, cereals, yogurts, eggs, always fresh fruit, and pastries. Good coffe . Quick ride to Larkspur ferry and into San Fransisco, or... More

It had been a few years since we visited the Panama Hotel Restaurant and since we were celebrating my wife's birthday I thought it would be a good change to go back. We made our reservations through Open Table and I made a note that we would be celebrating a birthday. Upon our on-time arrival we were seated, but there... More

This is perfect for couples on romantic weekend. Very clean, comfortable and charming. The following factors made it uncomfortable for me while spending a week for business: 1. Parking created constant misery. It's worse than expected. Because my work day ended at the peak dinner hour I had to park 7 blocks away every night. 2. No full length mirror... More

Boutique hotel, very small and charming, with all the amenities you could want, including a fine restaurant with live music. With only 9 rooms or so, the hotel is often booked by a single family for a wedding or a reunion. It reminds me of the swanky old-fashioned bar in Casablanca, with swaying palms and tropical colors. Very special.

Love this boutique hotel in San Rafael. It's a beautiful Victorian that has been turned into a hotel and restaurant tucked away in the Gerstle Park neighborhood. It's just blocks away from the restaurants and shops of downtown (4th Street - of American Graffiti fame). Even though I grew up in San Rafael, a one or two night stay is... More

We spent two nights in the hotel. Shout out to Ishan, our great server. The hotel has a wonderful gardener & it shows! We stayed in the garden room, had a delicious dinner & breakfast, and look forward to our return. Take the ferry turn Larkspar, and it's a five minute Uber ride to the hotel. Highly recommend.

Mediterranean eggs and bacon, portabella omlettes, huevos rancheros, and eggs florentine - all fresh, hot, delicious, and at reasonable prices (esp. versus San Francisco prices), plus very good offerings of tea and espresso drinks. Excellent food at excellent prices.

Charming place. A lot of character. Don't stay in the room over the restaurant if you like quiet. Kitchen staff start up the raucous music at 8:15 AM on Sunday morning when they start setting up for brunch:( Street parking was relatively easy. The continental breakfast was decent.
