Went as a four year wedding anniversary trip with my husband. The hospitality was wonderful and the bedroom we stayed in was beautiful. After finding out about our anniversary they chose to upgrade our room simply because they could. The food was amazing and everybody was so nice. We had never stayed at an inn before and because of this trip we will definitely be doing so again. Absolutely wonderful experience 💗
We stayed here due to being stuck in the storm. Being in a hotel unplanned and being forced to stay in one is not fun, to say the least. However, the hospitality with these employees helped turn a bad time into a good time. Every employee was exceptionally happy and eager to assist you and the manager Hailey was fantastic! So personable, tried to help us out and you know she’s doing her job right because of the level of engagement of the employees, it felt like a family. First night we stayed in the Mary Simpson room, this room has a detached restroom that is across the hall, room is basic with a tv and wash area (sink). We got stuck an additional night and stayed in the Greenwhich room- love this room! It’s a cottage like room with a huge rock fire place (gas lit with wood logs provided) and oversized jetted tubs. This room had skylights in the room and restroom which provided a ton of natural light. Inn serves a great breakfast, we had the best French toast and the next day huevos rancheros, served with fresh juice and coffee or tea, fresh pastry’s and your choice of fruit or oatmeal. They serve refreshments on the afternoon, scones and freshly squeezed lemonade or ice tea and on the evening hors d’oeuvres with wine and fresh cookies in the evening. Lastly the property grounds are beautiful, tons of greenery and the Greenwich room had a cute patio, we just couldn’t enjoy the outside due to the storms. …
We went to Simpson House Inn during December this time. Usually we go into Spring which is so lovely. This time the house was decorated for the holidays, lots of cookies and tea, holiday music in the main room, and a nice fire during the morning and evening. We love staying here. The staff is wonderful and make you feel at home. The breakfast and wine/cheese hour is amazing. We can't wait for our next visit!
The Simpson House Inn hosted our daughter's afternoon wedding and luncheon. It was simply and superbly charming. Our newly blended family stayed the entire weekend and the staff made us feel as though SHI was our private compound. Everything was ailored to meet our needs. We couldn't have been happier.
The Simpson House Inn is such a beautiful location with incredible staff. My husband and I held our wedding here and it could not have been more perfect. The house and gardens are so thoughtfully designed and well kept. It created a very private and romantic atmosphere. Having family and friends stay at the venue and being able to get ready on site gave us that extra time to spend with our loved ones while making everything easier on us! The staff were all welcoming and kind. Haley was wonderful to work with throughout the whole process! She was easy to get in touch with and very helpful and accommodating. We appreciate how special everyone made this weekend for us. We can't recommend the Simpson House enough.
We had a lovely stay. Arrived early from a cruise ship. No problem. Asked to wait in the absolutely gorgeous gardens with the cheekiest squirrels for fifteen minutes for an early check in. Thank you. The inn is old and there is a slightly run down shabby chic feel but we are cool with that. Room is as seen in pictures. Slightly odd bath in the room which for us was a waste of space but for some might be a treat. We only had a bedside table on one side of the bed which was annoying. The bed is an ordinary king (I think 5ft) which is small at this price point and would have been a deal breaker for us if I’d researched better. However gas lit real fire was super albeit the wood was a little wet. Breakfast service (for us we could see others had a better experience) was pretty poor except for the last day. We felt uncomfortable being asked to tip on a zero check as breakfast was included and aforesaid service was … er .. meh. Some staff are great but others don’t have the smiles or the hospitality skills required at this price point. …
Excellent location and not far from State Street and to all restaurants and shops. The grounds of the Inn are outstanding with plenty of sitting areas for when the weather is nice. We stayed in the Sun Room and it has the smallest bathroom/shower I have ever seen but was OK for 3 nights. The bedroom was of a good size and the balcony was huge where you could sit and have breakfast. We never ate on the balcony as the weather wasn't too good. The breakfast had a really good selection with fruit, pastries, porridge, yoghurt and granola then also a special every day. This was French toast and a Mexican option on the 2nd day so not to our liking but the food was all homemade and really nice. Every afternoon they had free scones, tea/coffee and on an evening a selection of hors-d'œuvre and wine. For supper there were freshly made cookies! The gentleman had booked us a taxi for the following morning to the train station which didn't turn up. I cannot remember the lady's name from the Inn but she kindly took us to the station otherwise we would have missed our train to LA so thank you so much! Such a friendly and homely place to stay for our holiday in Santa Barbara …
My husband and I were gifted a stay at the Simpson House Inn for our first anniversary. What an incredibly beautiful experience. Our stay in Greenwich cottage, which was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated, with the jacuzzi tub, was absolutely lovely, The staff were so friendly and went over and above to accommodate our every need. What a delight to have scones and lemonade in the afternoon, hors d’oeuvres and wine and cookies in the evening, and then a gourmet breakfast the following morning in the beautiful and tranquil gardens. The Inn is located close to downtown shops and dining and the beach and some magnificent gardens. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. Thank you to all who made our stay memorable!
This place was amazing and so relaxing. From the cute rooms, the antique decor, the history of the Inn and the delicious daily breakfast to the nightly hors d’oeuvres. A big shoutout to the staff at the Inn , Haley, Karen, David, Zulie, Aldair, Frank and Rene, and not to mention the staff behind the scenes from the house cleaning to the nightly turn down service where they deliver “sweet dreams” chocolate nightly. An excellent place to stay and centrally located to shop and explore! We loved it and were so impressed how secluded it was. You have to visit and enjoy!
Recently stayed here for a weekend getaway with my wife. It was everything we wanted and more. The grounds were beautiful, tranquil and relaxing. We reserved a private cottage and absolutely loved it. The room was clean, charming and well maintained. The staff was amazing and very accommodating to questions and requests. The breakfast was wonderful as was the nightly wine and orderve serving. The overall grounds are spread out enough that even at full capacity you can ALWAYS find a nice spot to sit and talk or have a drink in private. There are several wonderful fountains as well as amazing landscape work to enjoy everywhere. All while still being only a few minutes from the beach as well as shopping or dining. It truly is a great little gem.
