I came to Santa Barbara for a long weekend in order to propose to my girlfriend. I was choosing between the Biltmore, the Belmont, and the Rosewood. Having visited all three, the Biltmore was the winner by a long shot.

Not only is the location incredible, not only is the ambiance of the Old World - but what you get at the Biltmore is unrivaled service. The Concierge team was unbelievable. They helped me with my proposal in the following ways: helping me find a location, arranging flower petals at the location, providing a photographer at the location, making a special dessert at their restaurant for the occasion, arranging an Aerial wine tour the following day, upgrading my room, and of course, pampering me and my fiance in every possible way.

While one may think that the cost of the Biltmore is prohibitive, there really is value in what you're getting. So if you're deciding between the handful of luxury hotels In Santa Barbara, choose the BIltmore - not only will you not regret it, you'll never forget the time you shared there.

Hotel has a small beautiful lobby with old style architecture, manicured gardens, staff is mostly exceptional and the setting right across the beach is just fantastic. With all that positivity, the hotel’s restaurant does not provide the level of service that you would expect from a 5 star hotel with such prices. The food overall is expensive, service however is very poor and restaurant was understaffed. Valentines dinner was a disappointment and there was nothing special despite the Concierge recommendation . The spa provides couples bath, no adequate hot water to fill the bath tub.
You would expect an expensive hotel such as this one to have better restaurant, spa and just be more exciting. For the price charged, I did not get the exceptional hotel stay and services that you get in other hotels with similar prices.

Dear March19131, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience with us. While I am very pleased to see that you found the lobby, grounds and team members to be exceptional, I am very disappointed that we fell short in providing you with a high level or service in our dining outlet and at The Spa. We greatly appreciate your feedback and can assure you that proper follow-up will take place. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in the future and provide you with an exceptional experience. Warm regards, Aaron Ide Resort Manager

We had booked our romantic Anniversary stay at Four Season's The Biltmore Santa Barbara. I had called the Reservation Desk the day before to ask for some items to be in our room. We have a 4 month old baby and wanted to make sure everything was seamless. To our disappointment, when we checked in to our room, the items that I had requested were not in the room despite me confirming the day of by the Manager on Duty that it will be.

I then brought this to the attention of the Director of Client Services at Four Season's The Biltmore, and she apologized for our experience and upgraded us to a Suite which we moved to within the hour. That was a nice gesture by the hotel.

Unfortunately, when we got to the room, we felt it wasn't up to the Standard that we are used to seeing at Four Seasons. The Suite didn't smell good and didn't look clean to us at all. The Shower and Steam didnt work properly and black gunk came out of the Steam area, which made it unusable. I reported this to the staff, and they did nothing about it, and said go use the other shower in the Suite, that was very disappointing to us.

Our Room Service Breakfast that we ordered in our Room, was cold and soggy and was uneatable. I reported this to the Manager and they refunded us for the Breakfast. We didn't even have a proper breakfast sadly.

The Suite we had was right in front of a main garden area where a luncheon was taking place that next morning, and there was lots of chatter and noise from the setup of the lunch. This woke up our little 4 month old son and he was unable to sleep in peace.

I provided my feedback to the Manager upon checkout of our experience, and she said, well we upgraded you to our Suite, so you should be happy, and to me that was an unacceptable response by the Manager of a Four Season's Resort Property.

We had a terrible experience for our anniversary, and definitely don't recommend this experience to anyone! To say the least, I don't recommend this resort to anyone especially if you want peace and quiet and want a romantic stay with your partner.

Sadly, while this property is in many ways very pretty and the location is nice, when we arrived at our room it was "musty". As i type this i can smell it being stale. Moreover, when i tried to book a table for 5 persons at 6 pm i was told the restaurant was full and i had to book for 7 pm. Nevertheless, when we showed up at 6 pm anayways, the restaurant was essentially empty and we were seated. Then, to make a long story short, the service was extremely B Grade - and they forgot to bring our vegetables. This property is DESPERATE for a good manager. As currently managed, this is NOT a normal Four Seasons property.

This was an elevated experience that will not be forgotten.

The location is somewhat tucked away, yet a short drive to the main street of Santa Barbara. Situated at the end of a road, you are blessed with a serine location next to the beach.

The property itself is immersed in a garden. So as you walk from building to building you feel one with nature.

The rooms are well appointed with a nostalgic touch ... as if you were whisked back to a setting where old Hollywood would retreat.

The food on property was amazing, especially the Bella Luna restaurant (please read my review).

If you are seeking relaxation and privacy, this oasis will serve you well.

The Four Seasons went above and beyond to ensure my wedding day was perfect. Unfortunately, my planned venue had issues with power and I was only notified 48 hours before my wedding. Having a destination wedding with guests flying in from all over the country I was in a frenzy. However, the Four Seasons stepped up. At extremely short notice they provided myself and now husband with suites that were pet friendly and accommodated all of my guests. I also had complimentary spa services for myself and bridal party which were outstanding.

During our stay, the level of customer service that the Four Seasons is noted for was proved true. From accommodating my multiple vendors, extremely late check-out and catering to my every need in between, we had the perfect wedding day. My only regret was not moving the wedding reception to the Four Seasons because after the exceptional service during our stay, our planned venue was below mediocre and a complete let-down. Thank you again Four Seasons Santa Barbara staff for making our evening before our wedding and day perfect!

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate New Years and it has been an a absolute treat. The service is impeccable, the rooms are gorgeous and the amenities and services are fantastic. I never want to leave. A few months ago we stayed at a Ritz Carlton and we felt that the staff treated us like second class citizens because we used a discount site to pay for the stay. Here we were treated like royalty and the smile has yet to leave my face.

My wife and I recently visited the Biltmore in early March, and while the grounds and rooms at the hotel are about as spectacular as they come, the service at the Biltmore exceeded my already-high expectations. My wife and I met at a nearby college in Montecito, and we decided to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with a trip around the world, ending at the Biltmore. We ran into a number of travel issues related to COVID-19 during our trip, forcing us to change and skip certain destinations on the way and eventually to take an emergency flight back to the United States. When the staff at the Biltmore heard about the issues with our anniversary trip, they gave us a massive room upgrade and provided us with exceptional service at every turn. It was a truly exceptional stay, and we could not be more grateful.

Huge high ceilings in the lobby. Glass doors open to huge deck facing ocean which was across a street if I remember correctly. Deck use for restaurant, bar, nice place to have drinks or dinner or brunch. Couldn’t be truly open air because SB is cold in winter.
