Really enjoyed my stay here. Clean and quiet. Breakfast was very good. Hot coffee and tea available 24/7. Location is fantastic and just a block from the beach. Parking is included and include both covered and uncovered.
We had a wonderful stay at La Playa Inn. Harry the GM was just wonderful and helpful. Room was large, quiet and hotel had lovely ambience. Breakfast was nice with terrific baked goods from local bakery and other options. We had breakfast each morning on lovely outdoor patio. Very convenient to beach, state street and in a cute neighborhood. Thank you for making our holiday vacation so lovely.
This place seemed pretty new. The customer service was good- they upgraded us to a deluxe room when we got there. Everyone working there was super friendly. Breakfast is simple but does the job. It's a 15 minute walk to State street. The bed is comfortable but also very soft - just in case you like or need a firm bed.
Large, loud group of high school students WITH NO ADULT CHAPERONES ON SITE during our entire trip ruined our stay. From running up and down the balconies after 10:00 pm and before 7:00 am, to throwing football from upper balcony hallways down to courtyard, yelling, jumping the fence to the adjoining hotel pool where they were incredibly loud after 10:00 pm, to being utterly obnoxious when asked to quiet down. Staff at the hotel was completely unable to control the situation and quiet them down, and unresponsive to our complaints. It appears that their stay was paid for by a young conservatives seminar program funded by the Reagan library, and that the money/income for these teenagers’ stay took precedence over the stays of the rest of the paying guests. We have stayed here before and enjoyed our stay, but this was absolutely ridiculous. We were shocked at how unresponsive staff was to asking them to have the teens quiet down after 10pm, and given how many other nice properties are in the area, we will never return. LOOK ELSEWHERE, at this price point there are MANY other options.…
Well appointed, large, clean room. Free parking was a great touch, as was the unexpected free grab and go breakfast - which made life a lot easier. When we stayed, the Spanish festival was on which meant the road outside the hotel was closed the day we left. Unfortunately, despite asking twice, no one at the hotel could advise on how we could park/leave on the day the road was closed.
Nice little boutique hotel. Located couple blocks from the wharf. Check in was easy. Soft beds and pillows. Free refreshments and snacks in the lobby. Free breakfast. Nice little parking lot. Quiet rooms. Nothing fancy, just all the smalls things that makes a good stay.
My mom, sister, and I stayed here May 20-25th and had an amazing time! Jasmine greeted us our first night in and gave me a "wink" when I mentioned my mom's birthday. When we went to our room there was a wonderful surprise waiting. They gave us a bottle of wine and some delicious pasties for my mom's birthday. What a sweet gesture! It's so rare to receive that personal touch these days. This inn is quite new and opened in 2020. It was perfectly clean and in a fantastic location close enough to walk to everything. They also offer unlimited water bottles and a complimentary breakfast. We saw Jasmine many times during our stay and she was always friendly and had great tips on the area. She reminded me of Emmy Rossum. ;-) I highly recommend staying here! We loved every minute!
Stayed at La Playa Inn for 2 nights over MDW weekend for a wedding. The pictures don’t do the rooms justice as they are much cuter in person! The property appears to be recently renovated & is spotless. Check in was a breeze and our room was ready early. Parking is free & easy (compared to $40+/day at other SB hotels) plus free continental breakfast (although we didn’t partake) as well as free waters 24/7 in the lobby. The property is well located & within walking distance of beach, the pier & Funk Zone. Staff were very friendly & housekeeping was efficient. I would recommend a room on the top floor towards the back as there is a park across the street which could result in some noise during the day. I would gladly stay at La Playa Inn again for my next Santa Barbara visit - highly recommend!…
We planned to stay here as the finale to a special trip, by splurging on a great room with a great view. When reserving the front desk staff confirmed the room we were viewing online would be the room we'd be in. Upon arrival, we were surprised to instead find a nice room with a patio which had a cement wall blocking any view . The patio itself barely had space for two chairs and to have any view you'd need to sit on the other person's shoulders. When we expressed our disappointment with the front desk, they said they were fully booked & no one could be called or help us for atleast 2 hours. We canceled our reservation & would suggest looking down the road at superior quality accommodations.
The hotel is in a great location, clean, and well maintained. The service was very responsive and accommodating to our requests. Our room was very quiet and cleaned daily. The coffee in the lobby was very nice and available 24-7. The breakfast bar was good to grab a meal, as well as bottled water was available 24-7. We highly recommend this hotel and the lovely staff.
