Expensive for what it is but that presumaeably is Santa Barbara and we hit it at a weekend/valentines and Presidents day so bad luck for us. Stayed for 3 nights.
Good looking property. It is essentially a motel but trying to do all manor of things to set itself apart and it succeeds very well.
Welcome at reception was lovely and all the extra touches (mentioned by others) are there.
I personally wouldnt go so far as to call the breakfast deluxe continental and I'm not sure what that would consist of but the quality of the food was very good, not sure about boiled eggs in plastic pouches though. Didnt like the plastic cutlery - very common we found in other places too, and paper cups for coffee and plastic for juice, paper in the rooms too.
Free dvd rental a great idea and there are loads to chose from.
Walking into town is easy or down to the beach. There is a 7 11 store very near for any bits you need and Brewstore was good for a meal and beer selection.
Parking was free - a bonus - a bit tight but easy otherwise.
Laundry on site $2 per wash and for drying each takes about 30 minutes.
We didnt use the pool but looked clean and felt warm.
Could hear the Amtrak but not after 22.00 or so and not as much road noise as expected considering location to road.
Stair ways are carpeted which seemed a bit odd as outside and a bit worn.
Room good enough and bed comfortable. Good TV.
Liked the tile work oround the building

My husband and I stayed one night here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we had such a nice time! Justin at the front desk was great, as were all the staff, so friendly and helpful. We had the Brisas penthouse and the room was large and very comfortable, with a kitchen you could actually cook in if you are traveling with your family. The location is close to the beach, it's an easy walk to the marina area and just a little further to Stearn's Wharf or you can borrow a bike to cruise around Santa Barbara. Everyone has their idea of what makes a great stay and Brisas Del Mar checked all the boxes for us. The only small issue was that the bed and the pillows are a little soft but that's just a personal preference and doesn't reflect on the quality of the hotel. Thank you to everyone who made our anniversary special!

My family of 3 (2 parents, one teen) stayed in a 1 bedroom suite here in mid-August. The suite was very large, big open space LR/eating area/Kitchen fully equipped, very nice. My son slept in the fold out queen sofa bed and said it was comfortable. The king bed in the separate bedroom was also comfortable. Bathroom large as well (and yes, the large closet is at one end of the bathroom, as others have noted). Checkin w/Covid prototcols was easy. 2 amentities I have to mention as big positives are the free bikes which we took on a several mile bike path along the beach and into estuary area. My husband and son rode all the way to Goleta. I was concerned they would run out of bikes but they have plenty.Bring your own bike helmets. 2nd amenity is the free electric car charging which we used. There is only one space for that so if it's taken, you might not get to use it. Breakfast was provided in bag in the fridge, a little disappointing since just cereal/yogurt/juice. We did not use the pool or hot tub but pool is very small. Great location, just one long block down from beach. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This was our first visit to Santa Barbara and we weren't sure to expect from this motel just four blocks from the beach (and two blocks from highway 101). Although the nightly rate was a bit steep - about $500 per night for three nights including breakfast - we received a free upgrade (and bottle of cheap California sparkling) to dolphin suite #3 on the ground level. The suite was plenty spacious for two and it was great having the kitchen, although we really didn't use it much. The room and bathroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The carpet is old, but didn't smell of must. The closet needs more hangers or some hooks on the wall. The late afternoon wine and snacks hour was great. It's boxed wine, but still a great way to unwind before heading out to dinner. The front office staff is very friendly and engaging and the cleaning staff was very present. All and all, this is a great choice for those who don't want to break the bank at a resort or pricey boutique hotel downtown. Will for sure consider returning if we go vacation in SB again.

Hello FriedmanC. We would like to thank you for choosing the Brisas Del Mar, Inn at the Beach for your lovely getaway stay. It's great to hear this type of feedback, our hotel staff here works very hard to make sure that every little detail is perfect and I'm glad you took notice. During summer peak travel, it is normal to see the industry being in a higher value but we couldn't be happier that you enjoyed the many free amenities that we offer for our guests. Being able to have a upgrade is always a great little piece of extra attention we like to give to guests time and time through out the year. We hope to be able to see you again on that future vacation trip!

I recently spent the weekend at the Brisas Del Mar and it was lovely. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They have free bike rentals and when our tv was having connection issues, Mickey at the front desk, was kind enough to show us their DVD collection. I would definitely visit again. Thanks!

We were upgraded to a grand suite for free when checked in. Greatly appreciated. The suite had a full kitchen, a living room, a bedroom with a huge sitting area. The living room was spacious enough for two people practicing yoga and dance at the same time. The kitchen allowed us to heat leftover food and cold pastries to make them taste much better.

Hotel was located in a peaceful area and we got a sound sleep. Everything was reachable by walking. We walked around, to the waterfront, downtown and neighborhood. Two blocks away, there were some beautiful historic residential houses.

Service was impeccable. Check-in and checkout took almost no time. Breakfast was included. The hotel also provided us a complimentary bottle of champagne. Will definitely stay again when come nearby next time.

We were absolutely stunned by how great this hotel was. You can walk to the beach, you can walk to State Street, parking is super easy. There are SO MANY thoughtful touches, from warm cookies and milk at night to free bikes to Board games to an enormous library of DVDs in case you can't find a movie you want to watch on TV. The staff were super-friendly and helpful. The location is so convenient. As we were approaching, we thought, Uh Oh, this could be noisy (we used to live in SB), but the hotel was quiet and serene. Spacious room, very comfy beds, and we were greeted with a surprise bottle of champagne (from Expedia points???)!

Hotel is a Boutique Hotel which we usually don’t stay at. It was priced competitively with other hotels are the time. Benefits, the location you are less than a mile one way from Sterns Wharf or the Yacht harbor, so walking was great. You are about a mile plus to State St. Room had been refurbished, a little kitchen, dining, sofa area, nice bed, and walk-in shower. At first impression, my wife was it’s older, retro-hotel outside walkways, I don’t want to stay here. However, we did and enjoyed our stay. Pool and hot tub we nice and met some new friends from Wales. Continental breakfast offered egg bites, oatmeal, good bagels, yogurt, fruit, cereal and coffee. Same standard hotel fare, but better. Hotel staff was pleasant, accommodating and responsive. We requested another iron and ironing board and the brought it within minutes. I don’t know what Boutique means but, I think this is it. I read these reviews to help me find a place to stay. I gave this hotel a four star vs a three, because of location, service and they were trying hard. My review could have been a three. So, if you are looking for brand new and beautiful, this is not your place. If based on what I previously described, I think it’s a good alternative, based on the competition. And, most importantly the question, would I stay there again? My answer is yes, but still open to consider other options.

I've stayed at El Encanto, Bacara, The Biltmore etc... this aint it. If you're looking for a comfortable stay that won't break the bank, that's quiet and clean and easy walking distance to everything, this could be your spot. Nice kitchen, comfy bed, and fireplace with a delivered breakfast. Yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice and coffee before you stroll to state street or head to a few wineries. Competent and polite staff can assist with your needs. A small market and a 7/11 across the street if you want real half and half for your coffee. Enjoy

Great property in a great location. We walked to State Street along the coast. Five-minute walk was safe late at night.
Property was on relatively busy street, but rooms were quiet and comfortable. Not to mention clean.
Amenities may have been limited (not sure gym can truly be defined as such) but staff, and small touches such as cookies at night and wine served at dusk, make the stay so comfortable!
