My stay here was great from the moment I walked in. I was greated warmly by the lovely front desk agent, Samantha. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and was very happy to help me get a room for the night. I was there much earlier then check in and as her manager, Jake, was walking by I inquired about an early check in. Typically they wouldn't so early but Jake gave an assist by checking directly with housekeeping to see if one was available so early on. There was, I really appreciated accessing my room early thanks to the accommodating manner of Samantha and Jake. The room was clean and modern with a hint of retro beach style. It even had a balcony to view the gorgeous SB sunrise from, or gaze at the stars at night. The next morning they had a delicious, fresh breakfast bar that was kept stocked and clean thanks to the diligent breakfast attendant Sean. Then to finish my great stay as I was leaving I asked if they had an ice machine to fill my water bottle, unfortunately since they are doing a bit of construction it wasn't accessible to guests, but Ms. Glory, the Assisstant Manager, was gracious enough to go and fill up my water bottle for me. All in all, a 10 out of 10 would visit again. Thank you to all the Staff at Avania Inn…
The Avania Inn was a hidden gem. A small boutique hotel that had the friendliest and most competent staff, so much better than the large hotel chains. The remodeled rooms are quiet comfortable and a super location. Kudos to Jacob, Gloryann and Michael for making our stay so enjoyable. Breakfast buffet was delicious!
Had a great stay was in Santa Barbara for some business and was placed in the avania inn Daniel at the front desk was very professional and gave me a call since I was running late to make sure my plans hadn't canceled due to the ongoing weather conditions i am from CA so didn't have that issue but appreciated the call. The room i was in was fully renovated and was great clean, quiet and the bed was comfy will be recommending this hotel for my business trips down here from now on.
Avoid! Do not understand all the top reviews for this place. I chose it based on TripAdvisor reviews and I feel very misled. Depressing motel under construction. Balconies...but they overlook a parking lot. Yes, you can eat blueberries at breakfast, but the breakfast is otherwise a Holiday Inn Express experience. The small pool and hot tub are closed for construction. The rooms are small. We stayed in a remodeled room. That blue palm tree background that looks great on the website? It looks pretty tacky in person. Very close to highway. The only pro is its good location, but there are LOTS of places to stay nearby that are a lot cuter! I'm writing this review so you can avoid our mistake.
Went during December off season, showed up at the counter and no one was there to check me in. Shouted for a few minutes and no one showed up so we walked around to the wharf instead and had happy hour. Before heading back, I called the front desk to make sure someone would be there this time and was told yes, but when I showed up, again no one was there. Luckily after yelling for someone, this time someone did pop up saying they were "on a call". We paid extra to get a room with the balcony, and it turned out there was always background music; I called the front desk to ask if there were built in speakers I wasn't aware of playing music and they told us it was because the reception hall was under us and the front desk was playing music. Thin walls! They turned down the music but after half an hour the music started being audible again. I didn't bother calling again; at 6am I was woken up to the sound of more music from the reception. When I got downstairs the music was quite loud and I had to tell them to turn it down. The plus is the breakfast had fresh blueberries and strawberries. The coffee was below average motel coffee.…
The hotel is going to be great but it is now under repair so some areas are closed off and some noise during the day. The staff more than makes up for all of this they are very kind and understanding.
My friend and I took the train from San Diego to catch the Parade of Lights in Santa Barbara, and I chose this hotel because of the great reviews, and the proximity to both Stearns Wharf and Amtrak station. It was both 0.5 mile each. The room was so spacious, clean and I just loved the lighting. It all seemed very modern. We didn't hear any neighbors, so I believe the noise proofing is great to my standards here! We checked out after eating breakfast so were not affected with the construction sounds. Jamaru did a great check-in and check-out, and was kind to hold our bags as we arrived early checking in and the room wasn't ready yet. Great service from all the team members I interacted with.
Planned a surprise impromptu bday trip for my love and came across this cute Inn that went above and beyond placing flowers and the cutest welcoming in the room before we arrived (thanks Samantha) 💙 staff even left a bday card 💙 we hope to return once construction is done with pool this spring!
Large room (216 )very clean and obviously quite new as bathroom was white and sparkling . Nice balcony with 2 seats outside. Quiet and good parking . Elevator to take luggage up on. Polite and helpful staff. Really good choices for breakfast which was complimentary. Close to the beach so good location
Our family stayed a night in a renovated triple queen room and found it to be very clean and comfortable. Free cookies and coffee in the reception through the day, and decent breakfast in the morning too. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
