Fourth visit for us, an older retired couple from Northern Cal. Stayed two weeks in housekeeping unit. Extremely clean/secure rooms, fully equipped kitchen, adequate off-street parking, and delightful friendly staff/hosts. While we had considerable rain and had to spend a lot of time inside, it felt nearly as comfortable as home. Cody and Karen, as well as all the other staff, are extremely helpful. The location has always been a big draw….very short walk to the marina and the pier. If your interests are walking, biking, beach sitting, water sports, or just viewing beautiful scenery, the location is superb. We considered Air B & B this time due to a lengthy stay, but so glad we returned to Harbor House.
I recently stayed at the Harbor View Inn and can't rave enough on the location and service. The pool was an amazing addition to the amenities. Cynthia at the front desk took amazing care of us and I will definitely be back to stay!
My husband and I booked a stay at Harbor View Inn in Santa Barbara for 3 days prior to traveling to New Zealand. We booked a non-refundable room since we knew our plans would not be changing as our itinerary was set. We arrived on Jan 9th during a major rain event that closed Hwy 101 and the mountain pass. We were physically unable to get to the hotel. I called at least 8 times before making alternate lodging arrangements for the night. I called again the next morning and spoke to Jason who advised that the roads were still closed and that they didn’t know when they would reopen. When asked about what our options would be to obtain a refund or credit towards a future stay since we physically could not get to the hotel he told me to call back the next morning to speak with their sales director Berenice. We booked another hotel for the second night. When I called the next morning to speak to Berenice I was on hold for 20 minutes before being put into Jason’s voicemail. At that point I extended the stay at the hotel we were staying at because no one at the hotel would return a call. Berenice finally emailed me back midafternoon to state that they had held our rooms for the last two days since we hadn’t canceled the reservation and that they wouldn’t honor a refund or even offer to give us a credit toward a future stay. She stated that the interstate had reopened way earlier than it actually had and that they were assuming we would show up for our reservation. We absolutely would have had anyone from the hotel reached out to us to let us know that we could even make it to the hotel. While I understand the concept of a nonrefundable reservation there should also be some accountability on the hotels part to keep their patrons informed when the circumstances are beyond their control. It’s just poor business practice to operate without taking all circumstances into account. The management of this property should be reconsidered.…
This hotel’s location is it greatest attribute. Great views from many of the rooms. Attractions that are not within walking distance tend to be only a short drive away. Staff is friendly and helpful and rooms are specious and comfortable. Parking is plentiful but a little pricey. The pool looks nice but it was too cool to use even though it was heated when we visited in January. Breakfast is not included but next door is a wonderful place called Jeanine’s.
We had to evacuate twice in Santa Barbara( staying at a rental house) because of flooding in the area. Halle, Cynthia and Jason helped us navigate a very difficult situation and can't thank them enough. The hotel also gave an evacuation rate which is amazing because usually a hotel raises their prices in a situation like this. We usually stay at this hotel every time we come to Santa Barbara and always love the ocean view, the beautiful rooms and the friendly, wonderful staff. LOVE these people and the hotel. Julie and Mark
I had a wonderful one-night stay at the Harbor View Inn. Very friendly staff, Cynthia and Halle were very helpful and sweet. Great room, awesome tub and view (stayed in 1 king room with partial ocean view). I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
We stayed for a quick New Years Eve night on a road trip and were glad we made this choice. It was a fantastic value for the location and the walkability to a variety of fun restaurants (Blackbird, The Lark) and wineries (Margerum is our favorite). I'm glad we booked the North building, as it feels nearly new and the room and bathroom were great. Service was friendly but isn't quite as polished as you'll find at the higher level hotels, though that didn't have any impact on our stay. I'd definitely return considering it was 1/3 the price of the El Encanto and Ritz-Carlton Bacara.
We absolutely LOVED our stay and experience with the Harbor View Inn. Our wedding was in July 2022 and we wanted our guests to stay downtown near the ocean. We reached out to the event coordinator, Berenice, at Harbor View Inn and she explained to us that while they could not offer a room block in July, our guests could book rooms specifically in the North Building so that we could all stay in the same building. The rooms are all remodeled and clean, there is parking under the building, and everything is close by. All of our guests had a wonderful experience while staying at the Harbor View Inn. My husband and I booked a two-bedroom suite in the north building and it was very large and perfect for getting ready in on the day of our wedding. Even though it’s in plain site, it truly is a “hidden gem” with so many hotel options in the area. I would recommend Harbor View Inn over and over again! Our guests had a wonderful stay at this property.…
Our son got married in Santa Barbara and our whole family and friends stayed at the Harbor View Inn. The staff was very helpful and made sure our needs were met. The rooms are clean, spacious and very well appointed. Everyone had a great stay. The pool was a hit with our grand children. Very relaxed environment. Close to beach, shopping and restaurants. Parking was easy onsite.
Location could not be any better. staff are very friendly and helpful. Have stayed here twice. First time was in the older building overlooking pool. Room was basically an upgraded motel room…clean, comfortable, well appointed. Water/soda machine was empty and office charged $7.50 for a bottle of water. Parking was expensive $32/ night and being late was not close to our room. Configuration of buildings and access points to rooms was awkward and not convenient with luggage. Elevator did not provide direct access to our room. Our most recent stay was in the new building located on State St and was a beautiful hotel type room. Very comfortable, clean…had all the amenities. Lots of parking directly under building with elevator access. Will definitely stay again but will request newer building!…
