Just returned from Santa Cruz and a stay at the Ocean Pacific Lodge. It was chosen for its proximity to downtown Santa Cruz, the Boardwalk and the Wharf. It is an easy walk to the many stores and restaurants, and it is at the foot...More
I have stayed at this hotel a couple times. This time we got a room with two king beds and it was 2 rooms, so was nice to have that extra room. The personnel seemed nice and accomodating, and the room was clean. It was...More

(This is long, but worth the read in my humble opinion.) Last evening, July 8, 2013, my nine year-old son and I checked into this pet-friendly hotel near the Boardwalk of Santa Cruz. We checked in late (after 9 p.m.) and I told the front...More
Although there was nothing outstanding about this property, we did find that it was very convenient to the beach and the pier restaurants. It is 1 block from the pier and an easy walk. The complimentary breakfast was o.k., although the coffee ran out and...More

Based on my own experience---I traveled a lot with three kids, each two years apart---it depends on the age of the children. If they're still relatively small, like preschool, I doubt if three kids sharing a single bed would be a problem. What hotels don't like is when guests try to sneak in more adults and teens than there are beds to a room. It's a violation of the fire code, which hotels are on the hook for if the guests are caught. That said, the Ocean Pacific Lodge is a family-run hotel; I'd talk to the manager if you have any doubts. Chances are they'll be flexible, but for older children they may insist you rent an extra folding bed.
